A Safe Homemade Solution To Keeping Ants Out Of Your House & Giveaway

Do you have ants in your house? When the weather gets warm I get ants in my house. There are chemical products out there to keep the ants away, but  I want to use a safe non chemical product to keep the ants away in my kitchen, as I don't want chemicals near my food. I found a way to keep the ants out of my house with a homemade safe spray that uses peppermint oil and it smells awesome. This spray will help keep the ants away as they do not like the smell of peppermint and the scent covers up their scent trail. I use this spray as a preventive spray and spray it on base boards, cabinets were I store food and other area that are prone to ants. I will also use this spray after I have seen ants, to cover up their scent trail. This spray only needs 2 ingredients and a spray bottle.

Natural Ant Spray

2 cups water
1 teaspoon peppermint essential oil, I like using Morning Pep peppermint essential oil

Put all ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well. Spray this where you want to keep ants away. The peppermint scent will keep them away. This spray also keeps spiders away too. I woke up to ants the other morning near my coffee maker and sprayed this after I cleaned up the ants. I have not seen ants there since I sprayed.

We do get them in our kitchen, I think because its right off the back porch. However, the worse place we get them is outside right at the front door and in our cars!!

I usually get ants in the kitchen. I use vinegar to get rid of them also.

I have only found one ant inside so far this year (but you know there is never just one lol) I also heard peppermint oil is great for your outdoor flowers and plants, so the squirrels do not eat them!

Never knew that peppermint oil could do the trick - I'll definitely be using this trick during the summer when the suckers start coming out! :p

I have ants at my work! We have shop doors that don't always close fully so we get all sorts of creepy crawlys!

Oh, yes. In spring and summer, they come in the bathroom window and up through the sink drain.

They're coming in from the windows in the bedroom, ants with wings. I guess they're carpenter ants?

Yeeees on the floor mostly. And the kitchen counter near crumbs.

We find them on the kitchen counters and in the bathrooms. They're so annoying!

We only kind of have an ant problem. They're EVERYWHERE in our front walkway, making little mounds in all of the cracks and corners and oozing out. Luckily, they haven't made their way into our home. We've smothered them with diatomaceous earth but only half of them die and the other ones bravely cover up the d.e. and continue on their merry way. I would love to try peppermint spray, never even heard of it!
