Running One Day At A Time

I am finally back to running!

It is hard to believe that I am running again. Three months ago I started my training to start running again after some injuries. See that post HERE. I knew it would take some time to get back to running but I am happy to say I succeeded in my goals and I am really enjoying running again. I love that I can run five miles without having to stop. I never thought I would reach this point but I took it easy with days of walking and running combined along with some great supplements. I also learned the importance of stretching, icing and wearing the right shoes.

These cute shoes are the Mizuno Catalyst. I have never worn this brand before and I like the  way they fit. These shoes are lightweight and do a great job of supporting my feet, even my high arches!  I just love the way these shoes conform to my feet, like wearing a glove.

I am loving these Fruit Me Up!  all natural fruit pouches for a healthy snack after running. I love that  they contain a full serving of delicious fruit! They also contain no added water or fruit juice concentrate and have 25% less sugar per oz. than most leading brands. Don't you love how the pouch matches my outfit? These fruit pouches come in many flavors. They even have ones that offer an extra Boost of nutrients like calcium, fiber, antioxidant Vitamin C and Omega-3 ALA in every delicious flavor combination. I just love the colorful pouches!

My next goal with my running is to start increasing my speed. Right now I am comfortable with just running five miles a day. I am thinking a couple more weeks of getting more comfortable with my distance before I try increasing my speed. Then I will do spurts of speed to get comfortable with the breathing. I might even register for a 4th of July race this year. My ultimate goal this year is to run the 5K race at the ShiftCon conference in December.

I am sure by then I will be back to my 8-minute miles.

"These opinions are my own and I received a sample of Fruit Me Up! pouches and a pair of Mizuno Catalyst shoes to facilitate this post."

It's so important to have great shoes. It can mean the difference between having an injury or not.

I think it's great that you are working your way back into running, especially after an injury. The Fruit Me Ups pouches look like a great on-the-go snack too!

Those sneakers are popping...that should motivate you to keep running. Nothing like getting back to exercise after a break

I'm just really happy for you that you are starting this. I can't even run a block. I'd be so tired immediately. The drink and keeping yourself hydrated is so very important.
