How To Make Caramelized Onions

Onions add flavor to recipes. When you caramelize the onions it adds even more flavor. Caramelized onions are sweet and rich in flavor.

I love onions and I always have a couple in my pantry. I use onions in many of my recipes like pizza and focaccia. My favorite way to cook onions is by caramelizing them. Caramelizing onions brings out an intense flavor that sweetens the onions and brings out a great flavor.

The best way to cook onions is slowly roasting them in a pan. The slow roasting or sauteing of the onions is what is known as caramelized onions. Sure, cooking the onions can take a while but it is so worth the time as these brown morsels of goodness have the best awesome flavor. Basically, caramelized onions are onions that have been cooked for 15-20 minutes and have a golden-brown color.

Caramelized onions are the onions that many chefs like to use in recipes.

It is easy to make caramelized onions. Keep reading to learn how to transform your onions into a great-tasting ingredient. If you can saute an onion, then you can make caramelized onions. To make the best-tasting onions, you just need white or yellow onions and a stainless frying pan or a non-stick pan.

For your caramelized onion recipe you can slice up one onion or as many as you want. Make extra caramelized onions for later use. The best part is caramelizing the onions allows them to be stored in the fridge for a least a week. For longer storage, you can even freeze the caramelized onions. I like to freeze the onions in small recipe-size batches. So go ahead and make a big batch of caramelized onions as they are great in so many recipes like pizza, bread, and more, anywhere you would add onions. I even use the caramelized onions in my homemade hummus recipes
