Strawberry, Apple, Pear Crumble Made With Fresh Fruit And A Giveaway

Summer is a great time to make desserts with fresh fruit. I love to make fruit crumbles with strawberries, apples and pears. Fresh fruit is in season and I found the perfect bowl that keeps it fresh longer.

This three piece bowl is perfect for fruits like strawberries, melon and pineapple. This  bowl has a strainer in it that drains the juices so your fresh fruit lasts longer. The bowl also has a lid so you can store the fruit in the fridge or transport it to a picnic. I love that you can also use the strainer to wash fruits like strawberries. This bowl is generous in size. I have two pounds of strawberries in my bowl and you can see that there is room for more.

This product is exclusively available at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Strawberry, Apple, Pear Crumble

Ingredients

1 pound strawberries
 4 ripe pears
6  apples
1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour

For the topping
1 package sugar cookie mix ( mine was 17.9 ounces)
1/2 cup soft butter

 Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Peel, core, and cut the pears and apples into large chunks. I like to put the juice in a large bowl and stir the fruit into it as I am cutting it to prevent it from browning. Slice the strawberries and add them to the fruit in the bowl. Add the sugar and flour and stir. Place fruit mixture into a large baking dish, 9 X 13 is a good size.

For the topping:

Combine the cookie mix, and butter in the bowl and mix until the mixture is in large crumbles. I like to use my food processor for this step. Sprinkle evenly over the fruit, covering the fruit completely.

Place the baking dish on a sheet pan and bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until the top is brown and the fruit is bubbly. Serve warm.

Now for for the fun part! I have a three piece bowl to giveaway to one of my readers. You are going to love this bowl. Just enter on the Rafflecopter form below and good luck!

  24. I like to have fresh strawberries, blueberries and oranges on hand. By cutting these and adding other fruits like bananas and grapes you can have an awesome fruit salad. Just drizzle a little lemon juice on top and for the sweet tooths out there you can add a bit of sugar as well, just make sure you stir it in to avoid that raw sugar on your tongue.
