A Trip To The Petroglyph National Monument With SolScents® Clear Face Suncreen

It was a beautiful day and the sun was shinning so the boys and I decided to visit the Petroglyph National Monument which is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We were going to climb to the top of the Petroglyph to check out the view. The weather was 50 degrees and sunny. On most days the sun is shinning and since we are a high-altitude city we are closer to the sun. That means even in the winter we must wear sunscreen when we are outside. Did you know that even on cloudy days 80% of the sun’s UV rays can make it to your skin, and if you live in a snowy climate, the snow can actually reflect up to 80% of those rays, too. I hate wearing sunscreen and I will find any excuse to not wear it. I hate the way sunscreen feels on my skin and most of all, the way it smells.

I discovered an awesome new product that makes wearing sunscreen fun and exciting. SolScents Clear Face Suncreen is a sunscreen that feels like moisturizer and comes in seven fun scents. This sunscreen  protects you from UVA and UVB rays while moisturizing your skin, without the typical scent and the tacky feel of traditional sunscreens.  SolScents® is a decadent, ultra-moisturizing formula with skin nourishing antioxidants that protects your skin and comes in seven light, fresh fragrances like

Vanilla Silk: SPF 15
Piña Colada: SPF 15
Cucumber Melon: SPF 30
Deep Love: SPF 30
Angelica: SPF 30
Flower Blast: SPF 50
Raspberry Dreams: SPF 50

I had the opportunity to try Vanilla Silk, Raspberry Dreams, and Pina Colada. They smell as good as they sound. My favorite is the Pina Colada. When I go outside in the sun, I enjoy the great pineapple scent on my skin knowing I am protected from the sun's harmful rays. This lotion feels smooth on my skin, not thick. I look forward to putting on my sunscreen now so I can smell the awesome scents. SolScents® even makes matching lip balm SPF 15 too.

Winter skin care tips from Dr. Richie Lin

Protect your skin: Apply a heavy layer of moisturizing broad spectrum SPF lotion to hands, face and any other exposed skin. Even if you work indoors you are exposed to UV rays through the windows in the winter.
Up the moisture factor: Switch to a thicker, more hydrating, oil-based moisturizer and apply frequently, especially after being outdoors.
Exfoliate, gently: Dry, flaky skin can actually act as a barrier to your moisturizer, so be sure to exfoliate before slathering up, but be gentle on dry, irritated skin.
Dress in layers: Transitioning from outdoors to inside can trigger the sweat/itch cycle for your skin. Remove layers when you get indoors and keep loose, cotton fabrics closest to the skin.
Don’t lick chapped lips: It’s so hard to not lick dry, chapped lips, but this will only speed up the dehydrating process. Keep moisturizing lip balms handy – stash one in your coat pocket and purse for emergencies (bonus if it has SPF!).

Here is another cool thing about SolScents Clear Face :
Founded on Soul and Scents, each product, fragrance and color represents a cause. Donations are made to seven causes, including Hunger Awareness; Hope for Education, Environmental Protection, Bullying Awareness, No Animal Cruelty, Breast Cancer Awareness and Heart Disease Prevention.

Paraben-free and FDA approved, Clear Face is available in broad-spectrum levels 15, 30 and 50.

  16. More than 90 percent of the visible skin changes associated with aging are caused by the sun's ultraviolet rays. AKA, wrinkles. When it comes to protecting your face from UVA and UVB rays, the safest look is a baseball cap, sunglasses, and—most importantly—a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 20 to 50.
