Natural Homemade Honey Sunflower Seed Butter

Looking for a peanut butter substitute? This delicious honey sunflower seed butter is creamy and spreadable. It is also great for those with peanut allergies! It is perfect for peanut-free schools.

My twenty-eight-year-old daughter is allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts. The weird thing is she ate peanut butter sandwiches all the time when she was younger. It was a couple of years ago that she discovered her nut allergy. She had attended a party and enjoyed a brownie that contained peanut butter. She started to have an asthma attack, so she thought, and reached for her inhaler. She took her asthma medication and waited for it to work. When it was not working, my daughter then took some Benadryl, as her asthma is caused by seasonal allergies.

The Benadryl worked and my daughter thought nothing of that attack until a couple of days later when she was eating a cake that contained peanut butter. She had another "asthma attack" and thought that maybe the peanut butter was the cause. My daughter stayed away from peanut butter and scheduled an allergy test. The allergy test confirmed that she was allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts. My daughter was doomed as she had to give up peanut butter. That meant no more peanut butter sandwiches.

A great replacement for store-bought nut butter

This delicious cream seed butter can be enjoyed by everyone, even those without nut and peanut allergies. If you are a fan of peanut butter, you will enjoy this sunflower seed spread. So many schools have banned peanut butter in the school cafeteria and this honey sunflower seed spread is perfect for school lunches. One bite and your kids will love it.

I had my daughter in mind when I created this homemade Honey Sunflower Seed Butter. My daughter discovered sunflower seed butter at the natural food store and buys it once in a while for a splurge, as it is expensive. I wanted to make her a homemade Sunflower Seed butter that would taste just as good, if not better, and save her money.

Being that I also have a powerful Ninja blender,  I set out to make my daughter some delicious Honey Sunflower Seed Butter. I wanted this spread to be all-natural and taste like my daughter's old favorite honey peanut butter. So I used this delicious 100% raw and unfiltered honey in my sunflower seed butter.  Honey gives my sunflower seed butter a great taste.

My boys also love to use honey in their oatmeal, hot tea, and yogurt too as it gives an incredible taste. This sunflower seed butter can be used to make these dairy-free granola bars. These delicious granola bars are plant-based and dairy-free. You will love that they are gluten-free too.

  31. I took my seeds and toasted them on a skillet then dumped them in the ninja with honey. Omgoodness. So tasty. I’m not allergic I just love sunflower seeds. I noticed that after it became smooth it clumped around the blade like a bread dough might. Still tasty. Just give me a spoon and homemade sunflower butter and I’m happy. Have you ever tried it with pistachios? I hate to waste and when I do try I’m gonna eat it. Especially since nowadays you have to take out a second and third mortgage for groceries. Lol.
