    Last weekend my boys and I had a great time swimming. It was finally warm enough and grandpa's apartment pool was open for the summer. So the boys and I decided to have a fun day at grandpa's pool. The boys had new pool floats that they could not wait to try out. They love swimming at grandpa's pool as we always have to pool to ourselves which is great as their new pool floats were huge. The day was sunny and hot, perfect for swimming. I made sure to pack drinks, snacks, and my favorite chemical free mineral based sunscreen.

    I use to have a love/hate relationship with sunscreen. I hated wearing sunscreen as it had a bad chemical smell and it made my skin itch so I only wore it when I went swimming as that was the only time my skin would burn. The rest of the time I was in the sun, I would not protect my skin from the sun. Several years ago, I then learned about all the chemicals that were in sunscreen and how dangerous they could be for my skin and body. I hated that I had to choose between chemicals or protection from the sun.

I was so excited when I learned about a mineral based sunscreen a couple of years ago that was made without dangerous chemicals. I no longer had to spread bad chemicals on my skin or my boy's when we were out in the sun. The best part was that our skin was protected and did not burn!
