Ant Man And The Wasp Through A Moms Eyes

My 11-year-old son and I attended a pre-screening of  Ant-Man And The Wasp.

My son was excited to see the next Ant-Man movie. So this very nice mom accepted an assignment to preview the new Ant-Man And The Wasp movie. This would not be a movie that I would watch but I decided to watch with my son as he really wanted to see it. Being that my son is 11, I decided that he would help me write this post with both of our views of the movie.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP opens nationwide on Friday, July 6, 2018

I decided to ask my son about the first Ant-Man movie before I saw this new one so I would better understand the movie and not ask him questions during the movie. So here is what my son told me about the first movie. "It is about a man who used to be a thief, who stole a SuperHero suit by accident. He thought the SuperHero suit was a cool motorcycle jacket but he was in for a surprise. Once he put the suit on he became the Ant-Man and quickly realized he could shrink and control an army of ants." So based on what my son told me and what I read online about Ant-Man, I knew that Ant-Man And The Wasp was going to be a SuperHero action packed movie. Totally not my kind of movie but I decided to watch this movie with an open mind. Here is more info about the movie.

SYNOPSIS:

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Rating: PG-13

Runtime: 125 Minutes

So did I enjoy the movie?

I really enjoyed the movie. The movie was way better than what I expected from watching the movie trailer. The movie was in 3-D and the effects were so awesome. There were several parts that had me jumping in my seat. The movie had many parts that had me laughing too. Yes, this movie had SuperHero action and fighting but it also had a great story. The movie starts off with a flashback that was thirty years ago when the mom got trapped in the quantum zone. Ant-Man, Scott Lang is now on a two-year house arrest after destroying Germany with Captain America. Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym confront Ant-Man with a new mission that has them battling new enemies with a new suit for Ant-Man that keeps malfunctioning. The scenes had fight and humor at the same time. My son is still quoting some of the funny parts in the movie. There were some bad words in the movie so this is not a movie for young kids as it is rated PG-13.

My son really enjoyed the movie also and filled me in on previous movies that were related to this movie so I could better understand the movie. He wants to watch the movie again with his younger brother and dad.

  5. I am looking forward to seeing this movie. Just took the kids on a 4 hour road trip to go to Cineplex and watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, so much nicer than our local theater.
