FANY Luna Smartwatch Is The Fashionable Choice For Women

Discover why the FANY Luna is the best smartwatch for women. From its ultra-lightweight design to its fashionable design and the many included features, this is the perfect fitness smartwatch for ladies.

I never thought that I would join the smartwatch world until I discovered a stylish smartwatch from FANY Luna.

I was happy and content with my health and fitness tracker. I loved the small size of my fitness tracker. I mainly used my tracker for checking the time and occasionally my step count. I was not concerned with tracking any other metrics.

When fitness smartwatches became popular, I was turned off by the huge, heavy faceplates. Sure, there were times that I was intrigued by knowing some of the fitness-focused metrics like my VO2 Max. Once I found out that some companies were charging for a subscription plan to get certain metrics, I was no longer interested.

Then I discovered a smartwatch that did not look or feel like one.

Meet FANY Luna Smartwatch: The Fashionable Choice For Women

A company reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to review their smartwatch. I was hesitant to say yes, as I had no need for a smartwatch. I decided to take a look at FANY Luna Smartwatch, with the intention of gifting it to my daughter-in-law.

Once I saw the smartwatch from FANY Luna, I quickly changed my mind. This smartwatch was gorgeous and did not look like a typical clunky smartwatch. The FANY Luna was slim and fashionable. It looked like a stylish watch.

About the FANY Luna Smartwatch

+ Fashionable comfort: Ultra-lightweight at just 0.84 oz, with a classic round shape and stylish band options that make it comfortable and easy to wear every day.

+ Customizable: Select from 150+ Diverse Watch Faces & Custom DIY Designs

+ Health-focused companion: Tracks sleep, heart rate, stress, emotions, and menstrual cycle to support better self-care and everyday wellness.

+ Fitness support: 110+ workout modes including running, yoga, and strength training, with tracking for calories, duration, and heart rate to support fitness goals and daily activity.

+ Smart everyday accessory: Combines style and function with call/message alerts, weather, alarms, customizable watch faces, 7-day battery life, and water resistance.

+ Long battery life: The FANY Luna lasts up to 7 days on a single charge.

+ Affordable price: No subscription needed to access health and fitness metrics.

I was sent the FANY Luna Smartwatch & Butterfly Bracelet Gift Set in exchange for a review. When I opened the box that contained the watch, I liked what I saw. Then I held the watch in my hand, and I was surprised at how light the watch was.

The watch setup was super easy. I loved how quickly it paired with my phone. Once I had the FANY app on my phone, I began to explore the many features of the smartwatch. I loved that I could select from over 150 faceplates or create my own.

Then I used the FANY Luna Smartwatch

The next day, I went running outside. I placed the Luna smartwatch on my wrist, with the intention of just wearing it for my exercise. Most watches feel uncomfortable to me because they feel heavy on my wrist.

I selected the outdoor running mode on the watch and went for a 45-minute run. I was doing 4 X 4 intervals, and I loved that I could see the time on the watch, even in the direct sun. With my old fitness tracker, the faceplate was never bright enough to check the time when I was outside.

Once I got home from my run, I checked my fitness stats. I loved that I was able to see my VO2 metric! With my old fitness tracker, I had to pay for a subscription for that feature.

Lightweight and Slim: Barely Noticeable, All-Day Comfort

After my workout, I went about my regular daily routines. When it was bedtime, I realized that I was still wearing the smartwatch. The FANY Luna is so slim and lightweight; I barely noticed it on my wrist.

Weighing in at 24 grams, the FANY Luna smartwatch is suitable for “all-day wear.” Traditional sports smartwatches, in their quest to pack in as many features as possible, can weigh up to 59 grams. They tend to also catch on sleeves during daily use and can feel heavy during physical activity.

With its stylish design and practical wellness features, the FANY Luna smartwatch is perfect for women who enjoy fashion finds, self-care, and useful everyday accessories.

Want to work out at home but don't know where to start? Check out these best fitness items for the home gym. Most are perfect for small spaces, and they will help strengthen your muscles.

Exercising at a gym is not an option for many people. From cost to time, having a gym membership is just not the best fitness routine for some people. For most people who don't visit a gym to exercise it is the price of a gym membership that makes it tough. Even for those who have a gym membership, going to the gym may be hard for them for many reasons beyond lack of motivation to workout. Time may be another reason why people don't get to the gym.

It takes commitment, time, and money to work out at the gym.

Then there is the mom who is busy raising kids, who struggles to find any time to exercise. So don't worry about paying for a gym membership as a way to exercise. While everyone needs to exercise, it does not have to happen at a gym. Exercising at home is a great way to do fitness.

A home gym is a great way to exercise as you don't have to leave the home. The best part of working out at home is there are many ways to exercise and it does not have to cost a lot of money.  There are many ways to fit in exercise at home. The best way to exercise at home is by walking. So lace up those shoes and get outside for a walk. If you have kids put them in a stroller or stroller wagon. Bigger kids can ride their bikes or join in on the walking. When my kids were little, I would push them in a stroller for my daily exercise and when they got bigger, they would ride their bikes. My kids grew up knowing the importance of exercise for a healthy body.

If you would rather stay inside for exercise, then I have a list of many fitness products to get you started. Don't worry if you don't have a space for a home gym as many of these workout products take up a little amount of space and can be stored in the closet or under the couch when not in use. For best fitness results try to keep the fitness equipment in a room that you spend a  lot of time in and keep them in plain sight to remind you to exercise.

Fitness products that I have in my home gym

I am lucky to have a dedicated room for my home gym, now that 3 of my kids are adults. I also have a gym membership as I get it free from my health insurance. I like using my home gym on days that I don't have time to get to the gym or the weather is bad outside. I also use my home fitness room for my strength exercises that way I don't have to deal with crowded gyms.

So check out my favorite at-home fitness products that I use for both cardio and strength training. Most of these are affordable fitness products.

1. Rower Machine ~ Looking for the best cardio workout that also strengthens your muscles? You need to get a rowing machine. Working out on a home gym rower uses 86 different muscles in your body. Rowing also burns more calories in less time when compared to other exercise machines.

I love my at-home rower as it has helped me build muscle all over my body. I have a Yosuda rowing machine and this rower is perfect for small spaces. You will love how easily it folds up when not in use. The price of their home exercise equipment is awesome and this rower is around $300. You will love the 16 different resistance levels on the rower.

2. Portable Resistant Bands ~ These stretchy bands are great for muscle-building exercises. I love the resistance bands for my strength exercise routine and I love that they are small enough to toss in my suitcase for traveling. Look for a portable resistance band system that has different accessories so you will be able to use them for many different exercises. I like the strength bands that hang over the door as these are great for building strong muscles. Check out my full review of my favorite portable resistance band system.

I also own a resistance band system that hangs over the door and includes many bands. The bands each have a different weight load to them and can be clipped together to make your muscle-building exercises harder.

3. Kettlebells ~ Kettlebells are great for strength exercises to build body muscle. Kettlebells come in many different weights and colors. Some people like to have a set of kettlebells in different weights. I have a set of 5-pound kettlebells as these were what I used when I first started lifting weights. I use my pink kettlebells for many different muscle-strengthening exercises. I also have a single 20-pound kettlebell that I use for my squat exercises and arm strength exercises. My teen boys like using my 20-pound kettlebell for their weight-lifting exercises.

Buy kettlebells in different sizes Here

4. Dumbbells ~ Dumbbells are similar to kettlebells but are shaped differently. Dumbbells come in many different weight sizes and are great for strengthening muscles. I only have a set of ten-pound dumbbells but would like to add more sizes to my home gym for my husband to use. Dumbbells are great for building stronger muscles. You can buy a single pair of dumbbells or a set of dumbells on a rack for your home weight system. There are also adjustable dumbbell weights to purchase if space is limited.

5. Punching Bag ~ I recently added an inflatable punching bag to my workout room as it looked like a fun way to exercise while building arm strength. This punching bag kit comes complete with an inflatable punching bag, gloves, and a pump. It was super easy to blow up and it is very durable. While the punching bag I have is made for kids, I was amazed that it was strong enough for my teen boys to punch.

Punching a punching bag helps to improve coordination, build strength, and increase fitness levels. It is a whole lot of fun, too! Boxing with a punching bag gives me an awesome cardio workout. I just put on my favorite music and punch the bag for a couple of songs. Not only is punching great for arm strength exercises but it can help build your core muscles. My punching bag is 63 inches tall, and you can fill the base with water or sand, to keep it from tipping over.

6. Bodygym ~ I like variety with my home gym equipment, that way I can do various exercises to build my muscles. The Bodygym kit is a resistance training piece of equipment that helps me build my arm and core muscles. Resistance training is one of the best ways to build muscle and get lean. This Bodygym kit stores in a small bag making it great to use anywhere in the home.

I love using this piece of home gym equipment to do my biceps curls and my upright rows but you can do many more exercises with the Bodygym. Check out my full review of the Bodygym.

7. Adjustable Ankle Weights ~ Adjustable ankle weights can be used in many different ways with exercising. You can wear ankle weights while you are doing cardio for added resistance or you can wear the ankle weights on your wrists for added strength while lifting weights. Adjustable weights are great to use when you are between dumbbell weight sizes, If the ten pound dumbbells are too easy but the 15-pound ones are too hard, wearing 3.5-pound ankle weights will help. I like to wear my ankle weights when I am doing my leg raises and floor core exercises for added intensity.

Buy adjustable ankle weights Here

8. Yoga Mat ~ A yoga mat is a must-have for your home gym. A yoga mat can be used for so many exercises like yoga, stretches, situps, and other floor exercises. A yoga mat gives you a comfortable place to stand, sit, or lay down while doing your exercises.

Buy a yoga mat Here

9. Cross Rope ~ A cross rope is great for cardio exercising. Jump roping is one of the best ways to get an intense cardio exercise. A cross rope is a weighted jump rope that gives you a better workout. Jump roping can also be a fun way to exercise. A cross rope allows you to squeeze in a quick 20-minute workout with a minimal amount of space. If you have kids, you can head outside and jump rope together.

Buy a cross rope Here

10. Your Body ~ Your body can be the best piece of gym equipment that you own. You can use your body to do strength exercises like situps, pushups, and more. To use your body for a cardio workout just get moving through dancing, marching in place, and going up and down the stairs. I like to march in place while waiting for food to heat up in the microwave.'

So get shopping and get moving. With this list of at-home exercise items, I am sure that you can choose a couple of items to start building your home gym. Start small as you start exercising and then keep adding different pieces of fitness equipment.

Which home gym item is your favorite?

Why Protein Powder is Important to Your Fitness Results

Protein is an essential nutrient that we need every day. If one is active, protein becomes even more important as our protein needs increase. Some questions that are most asked are why protein is important for fitness, and how much protein do I need?

Protein is an essential nutrient that all bodies need. Protein has many roles in your body. One of the main roles of protein in the body is to help repair and build your body’s tissues. Other functions of protein are to allow metabolic reactions to take place and coordinate bodily functions. Protein also helps with fluid balance, transports nutrients, and can give the body energy when other energy sources are not available.

Proteins are made up of amino acids, and these proteins and amino acids are the main building blocks of our muscles, bones, skin, tissues, and organs.

So why do we need more protein when we exercise?

When we exercise, we use many muscles in our body. Exercise causes those muscles to get some wear and tear. So protein becomes the guy that helps build and repair the muscles. It is the protein that helps our muscles get stronger. Weightlifting basically is about stressing the muscles, and the repairing process helps our muscles grow and become stronger.

If we don't give our bodies enough protein, the muscles can not be repaired. Since protein is needed by the whole body, it is essential to consume an adequate amount of protein; otherwise, the body will have to break down muscle to obtain the amino acids that it needs to function. Exercise increases our protein needs, and if you don't consume the right amount of protein, your muscles will not become stronger or bigger. Exercise and protein promote muscle growth.

How muscles grow

Lifting weights and strength exercises in a weird way damages muscle fibers. After you work out, your body repairs or replaces damaged muscle fibers with the protein you eat. Muscle growth happens through a cellular process where muscle fibers fuse together to form new muscle protein strands. These repaired muscles increase in thickness and number to create muscle hypertrophy (growth).

Muscle growth occurs whenever the rate of muscle protein synthesis is greater than the rate of muscle protein breakdown. This adaptation, however, does not happen while you actually lift the weights. Instead, it occurs while you rest.

Increase strength to help with muscle building with adjustable ankle and wrist weights. I like using these weights when using my resistance bands. It gives me some added strength to my muscle-building exercise routine.

Protein helps with sore muscles and injuries

Exercise can result in sore muscles, and protein can help as protein helps with muscle repair. Consuming protein after you exercise will help your muscles recover from the stress of exercise and reduce muscle soreness. If you injure your muscles or tendons, make sure to increase your protein consumption as this will help with recovery.

How much protein do I need?

Your protein needs will vary based on many factors. Age, sex, height, weight, and activity level can determine how many protein grams your body needs for the day. Research suggests that a very active person should eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. A very active person is someone who does intense exercise 6 -7 days a week.

That means that a very active female who is 5'5" and weighs 150 pounds needs at least 68 grams/day of protein. That same person can consume up to 122 grams of protein per day. A less active person would have smaller protein needs per day. To calculate your protein needs per day check out this protein calculator

How to best meet your protein needs

There are many different foods that contain protein. You can get protein from animal sources and from plant-based sources. While people think that animal sources contain higher amounts of protein, you don't have to eat meat to meet your daily protein needs. Those who follow a plant-based diet can get plenty of protein from beans, nuts, seeds, and plant-based protein powder.

Plant-based food that contains protein

Buckwheat

Hummus

Peas

Nuts ~ almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc

Pumpkin seeds

Soy products (tofu, tempeh, edamame beans)

Peanut butter

Beans

Quinoa

Bread

Hemp and chia seeds

Spirulina

Rice

Oats

Lentils

Vegetables like broccoli, mushrooms, Brussels Sprouts

Fruits like grapefruit

Plant-based protein powder

Nuzest does not contain sweeteners or fillers, so it is easy to digest. Plant-based Nuzest is dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and low in carbs. Save 15% on Nuzest protein with code MOMKNOWSBEST15

Meat/Dairy food that contains protein

Eggs

Chicken breast

Cottage cheese

Greek yogurt

Milk

Lean beef

Tuna

Turkey breast

Fish

Shrimp

What about complete and incomplete protein sources?

You may have heard that only meat is the best source of protein, as it is a complete protein source. A complete protein is a protein that contains a good amount of each of the nine essential amino acids required in the human diet. It is perfectly fine to get your protein from incomplete protein sources like beans and nuts, as long as you consume a sufficient variety of incomplete proteins throughout the day to get all the required amino acids. Some good combinations of plant-based protein foods are beans and rice, protein pancakes, hummus, pita bread, overnight oats, and even breakfast cookies.

So if you choose to follow a meatless diet, you can get plenty of protein from plant sources. I find that the best way to meet your protein needs on a plant-based diet is by drinking a protein smoothie or adding plant-based protein powder to recipes. When selecting a vegan protein powder, look for one that has simple ingredients without added sweeteners or fillers. I like Nuzest protein as it is made from premium yellow peas and is a complete source of protein. Nuzest has 20 grams of plant-based protein per serving.

Nuzest does not contain sweeteners or fillers so it is easy to digest. Plant-based Nuzest is dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and low in carbs. Save 15% on Nuzest protein with code MOMKNOWSBEST15

 ~ Jack LaLanne

The nutritional needs of an active person vs a person who is sedentary are so much different. While the biggest difference is calorie intake, your active body may require supplements that are made for active ladies. Fitness helps our body feel good and taking these supplements may help your body to continue to be active.

Keep reading to discover 8 Must-Have Supplements For Active Ladies

I recently attended the biggest fitness conference in Las Vegas and the theme for this year was Inspiration. The theme word fit the fitness event perfectly for what I learned at the event. I was super excited to be able to attend an event with other folks who have a passion for fitness and health. IDEA World conference is a fitness and wellness event that features comprehensive education with fitness classes. It is the place to learn all about fitness and wellness.

What I love most about the Idea World conference is the chance to engage in fitness classes that are taught by the fitness pros. I also love the huge expo for a chance to see the latest in fitness equipment and health supplements. The first day of the event featured the opening ceremonies with the presentation of the IDEA Jack LaLanne Award Presented by Elaine LaLanne. For those that have never heard about Jack LaLanne, he was an American fitness and nutrition guru that inspired so much of fitness as we know it today. You can thank Jack LaLanne for gyms, many health programs, and even the jumping jack - named after him.

Attending this awesome event inspired my fitness routine and also gave me new insight into my health routines. Jack LaLanne lived to be 96 and was still exercising! His wife Elaine attended the conference and is in great shape. She is a huge inspiration for me as she is still active at 96!

My Must-Have Supplements

The fitness event inspired me to keep being active every day and to continue to follow a healthy diet along with my many supplements. The benefits of a healthy lifestyle are many and it helps me continue to look and feel awesome at 57!

My passion for fitness and health started six years ago when I was unable to do one push-up at a health conference. It was then that I realized that I had to take charge of my health. Through years of learning, I have discovered the must-have supplements that I take every day. These are the supplements that I consider beneficial to my wellness.

While we don't always notice the benefits of taking supplements, it is when we stop taking them we notice something is not right with our body.

1. Women’s Multivitamin

My supplement regimen always includes a multivitamin that is made for women. A multivitamin is necessary for health for the simple fact that we can't reach our nutritional goals with food alone. The food that we eat today is grown in soil that may be depleted of nutrients due to current farming techniques. Then consider the time that the food is harvested and the time it takes to get to the grocery store, thus losing nutrients.

Other reasons a multivitamin is important to take include ~ Poor diet ~ Nutrient Absorption Declines with Age ~ Chronic Health Conditions ~ Harmful Chemicals ~ Vegan or Vegetarian Diet

The above are just a few reasons why you should include a multivitamin in your daily routine. Then if you are a female you should look for a multivitamin that is made for women. Women have different nutritional needs than men. A multivitamin that I have been using is VivaNaturals Organic Women's Multivitamin with Probiotics. I love that this multivitamin is specially formulated for women’s unique needs and is an all-in-one supplement that supports so many functions.

Viva Naturals Organic Women’s Multivitamin is an all-in-one supplement designed to support energy production, immune health, skin health, bone health, and radiant hair and nails.* Each serving is packed with 21 essential vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin A, B, C, D, and E, plus iron, calcium, folate, and zinc, as well as a women’s support blend that includes pre and probiotics to help support balanced digestion.*

*These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

~ Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, Certified Organic and Third Party Tested

There are so many vitamins and minerals packed into this multivitamin that the serving size is three tablets! In fact 13 of the nutrients are 100% of the daily recommended values. It is a good thing that the tablets are easy to swallow. I like that this multivitamin has added benefits that support my immune health and my digestion.

2. Protein Powder

Our active bodies require more protein. Protein helps our muscles recover from our workout and it helps our muscles get stronger. As a runner who followed a mostly plant-based diet, I did not realize that my body needed more protein until I added a protein shake to my diet. After several weeks of consuming a protein shake for breakfast, I noticed that my body started to tone up. Based on my size and activity level, I need 59 -106 grams of protein a day, according to the protein calculator.

My morning always starts with a protein smoothie. I love smoothies for so many reasons. From the easiest way to get protein into my body to being able to toss in many superfood supplements, smoothies are a quick and easy breakfast for me. My morning smoothie always starts with a plant-based protein powder and frozen fruit. Then I add green tea matcha, flax seeds, collagen, and either a green or red powder.  So my smoothie contains at least 30 grams of protein and plenty of superfoods. Protein powder is the easiest way to add more protein to your diet

3. Turmeric

Turmeric is great for inflammation and pain. Exercise can cause inflammation and pain to our body, especially when we first start a fitness program or change our exercise routine. While you can get turmeric through cooking by adding turmeric powder to your food- check out this Turmeric Cinnamon Roasted Cauliflower recipe! A turmeric supplement provides more benefits to the body.

Many years ago I had my first running injury. I injured my ankle from running up too many hills. This painful injury left my ankle swollen. My injury was slow to heal and I had to stop running. Through online research, I discovered that turmeric was good for inflammation and pain. After a week of taking a turmeric supplement, the pain and swelling started to decrease. More research on turmeric helped me realize that it was a supplement that could help the inflammation of my lungs from asthma and allergies.

4. Omega-3 Fish Oil

Fish oil is a dietary source of omega-3 fatty acids. Your body needs omega-3 fatty acids for many functions, from muscle activity to cell growth. Fish oil has benefits for the heart, brain, and healthy cholesterol levels.

I take Omega-3 Fish Oil for the benefit of health and joint health. Getting older means that my joints need help with lubrication. I want my joints to be healthy so I can keep running. Healthy joints also help older folks walk without pain. Omega-3 also supports heart and brain health.

5. Prebiotic Fiber

A prebiotic fiber supplement benefits the body in so many ways. From gut health to regularity to overall balance and nutrition, a fiber supplement can also help with immunity. Taking a daily fiber supplement can also help weight loss as it can help the body feel fuller after eating so you will eat less.

I like to keep regular in the bathroom department and not have stomach issues like constipation. So taking a daily fiber supplement helps. When I learned that the health of my body starts with a healthy gut, I started taking a prebiotic fiber and probiotic supplement. That way I get the benefits of regularity and the benefits of a healthy gut with an easy-to-mix tasteless supplement. Some days, I mix my fiber supplement into my smoothie and other days into a bowl of oatmeal. To give my boys the benefits of a fiber supplement, I make these delicious high-fiber bars for their breakfast or snacks.

6. Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are very high in fiber and provide good amounts of protein. They're also rich in fat and one of the best plant-based sources of heart-healthy omega-3.

Chia seeds gives nutritional benefits like fiber, protein, and omega-3. So I always include a couple of tablespoons in my morning smoothies. I also like using chia seeds as a vegan egg substitute in my baking recipes. Chia seeds are also great to add to oatmeal and cookies for added nutrition.

7. Collagen

Collagen is the main component of connective tissues that make up several body parts, including tendons, ligaments, skin, and muscles. As we age our body produces less collagen so supplementation will help with skin, hair, nails, and joint health.

I started taking collagen many years ago when my ankle injury was not healing. After learning that my older body was not producing enough collagen for healthy joints and cartilage, a collagen supplement helped my ankle heal. I also like the skin, hair, and nail benefits that I get from collagen. I mostly add collagen to my daily smoothies but will also add this tasteless powder to my coffee.

8. Matcha Green Tea Powder

Matcha green tea powder is made from green tea leaves. A single serving is equal to 10 cups of green tea! Matcha is a healthy superfood that is rich in antioxidants and is a great source of natural energy and mental clarity. Matcha benefits may include skin health and increased metabolism.

I love green tea matcha for the metabolic and skin benefits. I also love green tea powder as it helps me think better. This green tea powder has the benefits of ten cups of green tea! I add a 1/2 teaspoon of matcha to my daily smoothie, now you can see why smoothies are so awesome! You can also make a delicious green tea latte with matcha powder.

So these are the eight supplements that I take on a daily basis for health. Along with a healthy diet and fitness, these supplements help me be able to stay active as I age. I love running and lifting weights, so I find these supplements to be essential for my active lifestyle.

Viva Naturals makes wellness possible

Back to that women's multivitamin that I just discovered. I like that it is formulated for us ladies. Our bodies have different needs from guys, so it is good that the multi has iron in it. Women need more iron than men as we lose blood every month from our monthly cycle. While I no longer have a period, due to age, my body requires more iron since I don't eat meat. I also like that there is calcium in this multivitamin since I have a dairy allergy. The fact that this vitamin is packed with 21 essential vitamins and minerals is a huge plus. That way I don't have to take single vitamin and mineral supplements.

I buy many of my supplements from Vivanaturals as they have a great selection of wellness products for the best prices. I like that the supplements from Viva Naturals are organic and contain no artificial dyes. Viva Naturals sells more than supplements. They also have organic foods and beauty products. I love their organic coconut oil for baking and their huge bottle of MTC Oil for my Dairy Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte. They even have flax seeds and chia seeds.

I ran this race a couple of months ago and finished in 2nd place for my age group!
