I had the privilege of previewing The Confessional Musical Movie, a Broadway-style musical, and I enjoyed watching this movie. I am a fan of musicals, especially when they are movies approved for the whole family. I enjoyed learning about the life of the Amish people through a story about adoption and the love of the mother who gave up her daughter.
Bring your friends & family to see this inspiring and entertaining story of two worlds colliding as a young Amish woman seeks to find her birth mother.
Two worlds collide when a young Amish girl discovers she was adopted by a wealthy Christian family. As she seeks her birth mother, she has to overcome the obstacles of a lost fiancée, a shunning and a crafty gold-digger who seeks the fortune of her birth mother.

The music was entertaining and so was the story.
Beverly Lewis was inspired to write the book The Heritage of Lancaster County after she learned of her maternal grandmother Ada’s excruciating shunning. ~ Ada being ousted from her Plain church community and the only people she’d ever known was heartbreaking. Her father warned if she was to remove her prayer covering, and wear a forbidden, gold wedding band, she was never to darken the door of their home again. Learn more about Beverly Lewis's books in this Blog Post from Beverly Lewis. “The Confession Musical” movie is not a documentary. It is pure entertainment.
“The Confession Musical” movie may talk about the Amish people but it is not based on a true story. The musical-style movie is pure entertainment. After watching the movie, I had to know more about the author Beverly Lewis and her books. So I did some research and discovered Beverly Marie Jones (Lewis) was born in the heart of Amish country—Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At the tender age of nine, she began writing short stories and poetry. The book, that “The Confession Musical” is loosely based on the author's maternal grandmother, Ada Ranck Buchwalter, who left her Old Order Mennonite upbringing to marry a Bible College student.
