Have you ever watched a movie that powerful in bringing back memories of a time in your life? The movie Jesus Revolution was a movie that had me joyfully remembering the details of how I gave my life to Christ. While watching this faith-based movie, I had flashbacks of the events and people that helped me in my decision on choosing to walk with Jesus. This was a powerful movie that left me thinking about the people who planted the seeds in my life and helped me choose life.
It was last month, that my family and I went to the movie theater to watch The JESUS REVOLUTION. This movie was on my must-see movie list from the day that the Jesus Revolution movie preview came out. It was sharing the information about the Jesus Revolution with older friends at my church, that made me really want to see the movie.

When I shared the Jesus Revolution movie information, many of the older folks at church got excited that they made a movie about a time in their Christian walk that Time magazine dubbed A Jesus Revolution.
These friends lived in California, during the time the events took place, and knew all about the Jesus Revolution. It was during this time in history that they gave their lives to Christ. One friend even attended Pastor Chuck Smith's church. Hearing their stories just inspired me to see the movie.

Jesus Revolution Synopsis: In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie street preacher. Did the Jesus Revolution help create contemporary churches?
After watching the Movie about the Jesus Revolution, I had a lot of thoughts in my head. Did this movement help create contemporary churches throughout the United States? I was only five during this movement in California and did not attend church. When I did start attending church, while I was a teen, I remember the old traditional church style.
I do remember in the '80s, while in high school, attending a Christian group called Young Life. I sang contemporary songs with Young Life. It was the leaders of the Young Life group that helped me start on the pathway to Christianity. I was also thankful for the contemporary church that I later attended.

ReplyDeleteThis is such a great concept for our youth to see too. People keep searching for something to fill their hearts and then they find God and it's all ok. Things still go right and wrong but there is truly a peace that passes understanding to get you through.
