I recently had the opportunity to view a movie called THE HILL. I had seen the movie trailer and it inspired me to watch this movie. THE HILL is a movie that will give you hope and encouragement to never give up. This is a feel-good movie that you need to go see with friends and family.

The movie is based on an amazing true story of Rickey Hill and the struggles that he faced as a child and a grownup. As a kid, Rickey had a strong desire to play baseball after he discovered that he had an extraordinary ability for hitting a baseball. There was just one problem, Rickey could not run since his legs were in braces.

Rickey did not let his disability stop him from doing the one thing he enjoyed most ~ baseball.

Rickey's legs were not the only thing stopping him from playing baseball. His dad did not want him to become further injured and forbid Rickey from playing baseball. Rickey's brother saw his baseball talent of hitting home runs and encouraged Rickey to play ball even to the point of being punished by his dad.

Rickey had a desire to run and never gave up, even to the point of breaking his leg braces. He even played baseball with his friends without his dad's permission. His friends and brother encouraged Rickey to try out for the school baseball team with his brother forging his dad's signature on the permission slip. What followed is a true miracle.

Never give up hope! Take a friend who needs some encouragement, and go see THE HILL in theaters starting August 25th!

About THE HILL

Growing up impoverished in small-town Texas, young Rickey Hill shows an extraordinary ability for hitting a baseball, despite being burdened by leg braces from a degenerative spinal disease. His stern, pastor father (DENNIS QUAID) discourages Rickey from playing baseball to protect him from injury and to have him follow in his footsteps and become a preacher. As a young man, Rickey (COLIN FORD) becomes a baseball phenomenon. His desire to participate in a try-out for a legendary major league scout divides the family and threatens Rickey’s dream of playing professional baseball. Based on a true story.
