Dairy Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte

Bulletproof coffee is a refreshing and healthy coffee drink, made with coffee, oil, and butter. Discover a dairy-free bulletproof coffee recipe that is perfect for summer and does not require butter.

The weather is warming up and the thought of hot coffee does not appeal to some people. Hot coffee in the morning when it is over 80 degrees outside just does not taste the same or have the same appeal as a cup of warm coffee on a cold winter day. Hot coffee tends to warm the body up so when the temperature goes up, I want a drink that will refresh my body. Once I start wearing shorts, I am ready to ditch my hot pour-over brewed coffee for a cup of cold-brew coffee poured over ice.

Summertime means cold-brew coffee, iced coffee, and Dairy Free Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Lattes.  Cold coffee takes on a whole new meaning in the summer. While cold coffee is not rejoiced for in the winter but in the summer a glass of cold coffee is my new coffee method. Iced coffee just tastes better on a hot summer day.

Iced Coffee is more than hot coffee over ice cubes

The method for ice coffee is not just pouring hot coffee over ice cubes, it is so much more. I even have a recipe for the perfect iced coffee that I make in the summer. I love my coffee and pretty much drink it year-round. I love to be creative with my daily cups of coffee and I seek out new coffee recipes. My latest new favorite coffee recipe is bulletproof coffee and I have discovered a way to enjoy bulletproof coffee as a cold refreshing coffee drink. I am loving this Dairy-Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte while loving the warm weather.

What is Bulletproof Coffee?

Bulletproof coffee is a buttery coffee drink that is enjoyed by people on the keto diet. Dave Asprey, the founder of Bulletproof Nutrition, created the recipe for keto coffee in 2013. He posted the recipe on his website and everyone went crazy for it! Just like the craze of 2020 for Dalgona coffee, Bulletproof coffee was a coffee recipe that everyone had to try. Being that the Bulletproof coffee recipe had grass-fed butter in it, I have not tried this coffee drink since I have a dairy allergy.

Bulletproof coffee is made with coffee, grass-fed butter, and either coconut oil or medium-chain triglyceride MCT oil.

Then I received a bottle of organic MCT oil from Viva Naturals and when I read the bottle, it said MCT oil is perfect in coffee. So I added a tablespoon of MCT oil to my cup of coffee and I was amazed at the creamy taste that it gave to my coffee. So I went searching online for coffee recipes that use MCT oil and I discovered a dairy-free bulletproof coffee recipe. I had to try this coffee recipe with my new coffee scale and I am glad that I did. The dairy-free bulletproof coffee was delicious.

How to make an iced bulletproof coffee latte that is dairy-free

It is shorts season where I live and I traded my cup of hot coffee for a glass of iced coffee. So I decided to make the dairy-free bulletproof coffee recipe into a Dairy-Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte. With some small changes in my coffee recipe, it was simple to take this coffee from hot to cold. A few steps are all it takes to make a butterless iced bulletproof coffee latte.

From blending the MCT oil into fresh-brewed coffee to stirring in plant-based milk and adding ice cubes, this coffee recipe is so easy to make. You can brew your coffee with any coffee method but I highly recommend the pour-over coffee method for the best coffee flavor. The pour-over coffee brewing method is my preferred coffee brewing method. I find that it gives the best taste for coffee.

Raw Honey for Garden Herbals - Using nectar from the blueberry plant, this honey is reminiscent of Clover honey in texture and basic taste but has a more complex herbal palette.

Matcha Whipped Honey -  Honey whipped it up with matcha powder.

How can MCT Oil be healthy in coffee?

I bet you are wondering why I add MCT Oil to my coffee. MCT Oil contains fat but it is a healthy fat and can be good for energy and cognitive enhancement. MCT oil is plant-based saturated fat oil made up of medium-chain triglycerides. This type of fat is absorbed quickly by the body so it can be used for energy instead of being stored as fat. People on the Keto plan use MCT Oil for improved focus and energy. So this coffee can be great before exercise or before work.

I like the MCT Oil and coconut oil in my coffee as it adds a creamy texture like coffee creamer. The difference is that coconut oil is healthier and dairy-free. The Dairy-Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte is better for your health when compared to those cold coffee drinks at the Star coffee shop.
