Christmas is over and we have all blown our healthy eating and have not exercised. I have not exercised for over a week as company was here and it has been cold outside. I also have been eating more sweets as they are there in the house. I am not one for making New Year's resolutions,so I will call it "my new plan of action." I will be bringing in the new year with healthy habits. Today I will be lazy but tomorrow I will throw away my excuses and just do it.I will bundle up and get outside for a walk. I know the walk will refresh me to want to eat healthy. I will also freeze all those Christmas goodies so they are not there for me to eat. I already went to the store and stocked up on fruits and veggies. Now I need to use them. For New Years eve I will be making some sushi with brown rice and wrap it in swiss chard leaves that I steamed. I know for most people that is too healthy, but by adding healthy food to your diet one day you too will enjoy it. So today I encourage you to try a new healthy food like fruits and veggies. Go to the store and choose something you have never tried. Then make a new dish with it. My favorite is spinach pizza. Or just do something as simple as eating a apple instead of chips. Make small changes as they are easier than the big ones. Take a walk,even a couple times around the block does your body good. Work up to 20-30 minutes a day of exercise. This will be the year you will do good for your body. Happy New Year!
