Time For A New Start

Christmas is over and we have all blown our healthy eating and have not exercised. I have not exercised for over a week as company was here and it has been cold outside. I also have been eating more sweets as they are there in the house. I am not one for making New Year's resolutions,so I will call it "my new plan of action." I will be bringing in the new year with healthy habits. Today I will be lazy but tomorrow I will throw away my excuses and just do it.I will bundle up and get outside for a walk. I know the walk will refresh me to want to eat healthy. I will also freeze all those Christmas goodies so they are not there for me to eat. I already went to the store and stocked up on fruits and veggies. Now I need to use them. For New Years eve I will be making some sushi with brown rice and  wrap it in swiss chard leaves that I steamed. I know for most people that is too healthy, but by adding healthy food to your diet one day you too will enjoy it. So today I encourage you to try a new healthy food like fruits and veggies. Go to the store and choose something you have never tried. Then make a new dish with it. My favorite is spinach pizza. Or just do something as simple as eating a apple instead of chips. Make small changes as they are easier than the big ones. Take a walk, even a couple times around the block does your body good. Work up to 20-30 minutes a day of exercise. This will be the year you will do good for your body. Happy New Year!

Colortime Crafts

My boys received a wonderful craft kit from Colortime crafts from Santa. It was a pillow case that they could color. My boys were excited to color the pillowcase. I at first thought this was going to be a messy project with paint markers so I delayed them from doing the project. I was wrong about the mess as when I opened the markers they were just like markers and not paint. After reading the directions I found out that  the craft project dried right away and could be washed right away as the markers were permanent markers that had a long shelf life. The cool thing is the markers wash off hands and are non toxic. The colors will not fade and are chlorine resistant(pool water will not affect the fabric. Colortime sells tee shirts, bandanas, and totes in addition to the pillowcase kits.
My boys had fun coloring their pillowcase and it was easy for them to do.

The only prep work I had to do was place newspaper inside the pillowcase and on the table. To get more information go to www.colortime.com

Premama Prenatal Vitamin and A Giveaway

I have found a wonderful prenatal vitamin for all you prego ladies out there or those who are trying to become pregnant. Premama prenatal vitamin is a great flavorless powder supplement that you mix in juice or water. I wish this was around when I was pregnant(been there six times)as it is easy to digest compared to those horse pills the doctors prescribe. Premama even has ginger root in it to reduce nausea. I love the way it comes in a tube that is divided into two equally divided does which makes it easier to take. I mixed the powder into my orange juice and it did not change the taste of my juice. The powder dissolved very well in the juice also.

Here is the nutritional facts on Premama and you can see it has great stuff in it.

Just Get up and Move

Everybody needs exercise but some days we want to stay on the couch. We have our excuses like "it's cold outside" "I am tired" and "I don't have time." Well today get rid of those excuse and just do it. I have those days of excuses also, like yesterday when it was cold and windy outside. So what did I do?  I put on some music and danced. My kids love when I do that as they join in. We put on Christmas music and marched in place. Then we did other silly moves for 30 minutes. Once I got started(that's the hard part) I felt good and wanted to workout.
So today I encourage you to move, even 10 minutes does a body good. I will bundle up today and go for a walk. Once I get going I might even run.

Purex Baby Detergent and Giveaway

As a mom you want the best for your baby, thanks to Purex that does not mean spending a fortune on baby-safe products. Purex Baby detergent costs less than the leading brands but delivers the same quality and results. Purex Baby detergent is sensitive on baby's skin but removes stubborn baby stains. I received a bottle of Purex Baby detergent to sample on my little ones clothes. My little ones may be 4 and 6 years old but they have sensitive skin. I don't want them breaking out in a rash from harsh chemicals. They also make messes on their clothes so I want a detergent that gets out stains. I already use Purex laundry detergents so I know that they work well on stains. I put the Purex Baby detergent to the test that day on my boys laundry.

I was impressed that the detergent was hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested. My boy's clothes came out bright and clean with a nice baby fragrance. So why spend more money when Purex Baby detergent delivers the same results.  For more info go to www.purex.com/products/detergents/baby

Now for the fun part! I have two coupons for free Purex Baby Detergent so you can try it. Just enter on the form and good luck!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Purex provided me with a sample of Purex Babyy detergent in exchange for a product review. However, all the opinons expressed here are my own.

My Wins This Week

I love entering contests as it is so awesome when I win. Last week my family and I went to the Twinkle Light parade in Albuquerque and while we were there I entered some contests at some radio station booths. I won
4 tickets to the River of lights and 5 tickets to see Sesame Street Live.  I was so happy! We were planning to go to the River of lights and this saved my family 30.00! The Sesame Street Live win was a great prize as I would never paid that kind of money to see the show. The tickets were 26.00 each.
Last night we braved the cold weather and had an awesome time looking at all the lights. Tonight we we able  to take the boys to see Sesame Street characters in person. My boys loved the show and I felt very blessed to be at the show. God is good! Entering contests does take time, but it is worth it to me when I win big sometimes. You can't win if you don't enter.

White Elephant Gifts

I love white elephant gift exchanges as they are so much fun! Last night my church leadership group and I had a white elephant gift exchange. We had so much fun laughing at all the weird gifts. Each gift that was unwrapped was more goofy than the last. The gift that I ended up with was these cool slippers. They are too big for my feet but I love they way they look. Thanks for the slippers! Other silly gifts were a video of a fireplace(no need for heat) a redneck calender(we had fun reading from that) and a basket ball hoop that you placed on your head.

The best gift was a in shower foot washer.

Torani Syrup

Do you like fancy coffee drinks like gingerbread lattes and caramel macchiato's but not the high price that comes with it? Well I will share will you my secret to having this great tasting drinks at home. All you need is some Torani syrup and you are on your way to making those fancy coffee drinks. I love Torani syrup and have about  9 different flavors in my pantry. I can make a different flavored coffee every day. All I do is add milk and sugar free salted caramel to my coffee and I have a caramel latte that is so yummy. Torani has over 100 flavors including fruit flavors. Just think of a flavor and Torani probably has it. They even have bacon flavor.  On the Torani website there is many recipes to make many different drinks- http://www.torani.com/#/recipes. Torani syrup is also good for adding wonderful flavor to desserts. I made a mint chocolate pie with peppermint Torani and Vanilla Torani and it was wonderful. My family ate it up in a day and asked me to make it again. Below is my recipe and I showed how easy it is to use Torani to make it taste wonderful.
I made one with chocolate cookie crumbs or you can buy a premade one
cup sugar
cup cornstarch
teaspoon salt
cup milk
cup semisweet chocolate chips
egg yolks, slightly beaten
package (3 oz) cream cheese, cubed, softened
1 1/2
cups whipping cream
teaspoon vanilla
I reduced the milk to 6 ounces and added 2 ounces Torani peppermint syrup. I also used mint chocolate chips for the semisweet chocolate chips. I omitted the vanilla and added 2 teaspoon vanilla Torani syrup.

  1. In 2-quart saucepan, mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Gradually stir in milk until well blended. Add chocolate chips and egg yolks; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat. Beat in cream cheese with wire whisk until smooth. Cover surface with plastic wrap; refrigerate just until cool, about 1 hour.
  2. In large bowl with electric mixer, beat whipping cream and vanilla on high speed until soft peaks form. Reserve 1 cup whipped cream for topping. Fold remaining whipped cream into cooled chocolate mixture. Spoon evenly into cooled baked shell. Refrigerate 6 to 8 hours or overnight. Spoon or pipe reserved whipped cream over filling. Store in refrigerator.

You can order Torani online at http://shop.torani.com/ or at Amazon. My Albuquerque friends if you want some Torani right now,you can buy it at World Market and the Shamrock store on Montano.

I enjoyed sampling some yummy products from Private Selection.
Private Selection® is determined to bring you food crafted from the finest ingredients available. Offering a wide variety of artisan-inspired options, Private Selection® will help you prepare the best menu of the holiday season. Created for those with the finest tastes in gourmet fare, you'll find everything you need for your holiday party, from appetizers to the main course, right through to after dinner coffee.

I was sent crackers, coffee, and coupons for cheese, olives, and pasta sauce. For my Albuquerque friends, you can buy these products at Smiths grocery stores. For other friends, the products are sold at Kroger grocery stores.
I had to sample  the coffee right away and brewed some as soon as I opened the box.

The coffee was a nice dark color and smelled wonderful. The taste was wonderful, like premium coffee should taste.

The other products I saved for Thanksgiving dinner. I had lots of family over for Thanksgiving dinner and made a yummy tray with the crackers, cheese, and olives. The cheese was flavored garlic and herb monterey jack and the crackers were water crisps. The jar of olives that I bought were a greek olive mix. My husband added some other cheese and crackers to the tray, along with some ham roll ups. The Private Selection crackers are the round ones and the cheese the triangle pieces.

My guests loved the cheese tray especially the greek olives. I loved the way the cheese had a great garlic taste to it and the crackers brought out the taste of the cheese. So the next time you are looking for great tasting products to serve, look for Private Selection products. They are great for entertaining.

Lose Weight for the Holidays with Diet Doc Pre-Packaged Weight Loss Food!

I was sent some Diet Doc prepackage food to sample and review. Diet Doc makes prepackage food to help you make cooking easier when you are on a diet. The food goes along with the Diet Doc's HCG diet plan .

You might be asking, “What is the hCG diet?”  The hCG diet was initially created over 60 years ago by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons where hi s patients achieved rapid weight loss when the human-produced hCG hormone was given in a low dose, coupled with a 500 calories per day diet.  Diet Doc is the only modern day version of the hCG weight loss diet.  The doctors at Diet Doc took the original Dr. Simeons’ hCG diet protocol and updated it to one where dieters consume no less than 800 calories per day in conjunction with prescription level hCG injections or sublingual tablets.  Each dieter also consumes hCG diet foods, weight loss shakes and weight loss oil specifically created for an hCG diet.

I was able to choose from this selected list:

Diet Doc Chili – 20 calories per serving – just add chicken and any vegetables
Diet Doc Steak Soup – 20 calories per serving – just add meat and vegetables
Diet Doc Hot & Sour Soup – 20 calories per serving – just add tofu or chicken
Diet Doc Chicken Gumbo – Add chicken and vegetables
Diet Doc Thai Chicken –Add chicken and vegetables

I choose the Diet Doc Chili,Diet Doc Hot & Sour Soup, and the Diet Doc Thai Chicken. This is how the food looked when it arrived.

They are pouches of seasoning mixes that you add lean meat to and veggies to create a yummy meal. I choose to make the Diet Doc Thai chicken for dinner tonight. I first added water to the mix to re-hydrate it.

Then I added some yummy peppers, canned tomatoes, and turkey to it,as we had leftovers from Thanksgiving.

I then put it in my slow cooker to cook and waited for my yummy dinner.
Right before serving the soup,I added some coconut milk. The soup was yummy for a light supper, although my husband wanted more spicy heat to it. Tomorrow I will be making the Diet Doc Chili, using beans instead of the meat, for dinner. Then I will make the Diet Doc Hot and Sour soup, using tofu, for another night. I can't wait!
To learn more about these Diet Doc products and the HCG diet go to these links:

What is HCG?

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

All I For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth

One of my younger boys is singing the song "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth." Poor Kodi had to get two bottom teeth pulled today at the dentist. My boys have strong roots and don't loose their teeth, they get them pulled. Kodi has had a loose tooth for the past 5 weeks. He wiggled and wiggled it along with the help of his older brother. That did no good and two other teeth started coming in. So I had to make an appointment to get them pulled. The good news is that this will be the first time the tooth fairy will visit Kodi.  His older brother will walk him to the store another day to help him buy something with the money the tooth fairy brings. Funny how last year my oldest son was singing the same song, as he lost his two front teeth in a bike accident.

Dial Holiday Foaming Hand Soap

Christmas is almost here and that means it is time to decorate the home. My favorite way to make the home festive is with my soap in the bathroom. I received from Purex insiders two very cute soap containers. My favorite one is the candy cane one. The soap they sent me was made from Dial and is a foaming hand wash. The soap is a part of Dial's limited edition holiday design. The holiday collection features four cheerful designs: Santa,Snowman,Candy Cane and Holiday scene. The soaps will brighten up your sink with holiday cheer, both in the bathroom and kitchen.
These decorative bottles contain Dial Complete's #1 recommended antibacterial foaming hand wash. This formula kills 99.99% of germs encountered in the household while still be gentle on skin. My boys love the way the soap foams on their hands and are happy to wash their hands. The bottles are so cute you will want to buy one for every sink in the house.
For more informatio about Dial soap visit Dial soap and also on Facebook
