This is a company that I would be proud to hire if I needed repairs to the foundation of my home. My home is very important to me and I do my research when it comes to home repairs. The issue of construction quality can be way more painful for business than for a private owner, because a mistake in the foundation of a shopping center or a hotel doesn’t cost a few thousand but tens of millions and broken contracts. I saw a developer on Peachtree Street lose $18M because a contractor cut corners and then spent a year in court with investors. As a result, many colleagues started bringing in people who oversee the project from contractor selection to final delivery and actually teach executives how not to lose money. In this regard I liked the format of cooperating with a construction mentor because this gives a systemic understanding of where risks usually hide and how to calculate them in advance. So...Do you in your companies rely on internal staff or do you trust external experts with 30 plus years of experience?
