Here in my hometown Albuquerque, New Mexico in October we have a event called Balloon Fiesta. This events, that lasts a week, has over 600 hot air balloons participating from all around the world. This is a must see event and a perfect reason to visit Albuquerque. The week is filled with many different events like balloon mass ascensions and balloon glows. The cool thing is you get to get up close to the balloons and see the balloons get set up and then watch them float up to the sky. My photos show the balloons before the sun rises and from then on. I have never been but have always wanted too. How cool is it to be that close up and get to see all the action. I have seen lots of pictures and from them I can tell it must be amazing

Nice pics! I went to a balloon fest before, and we got a chance to go up in one. Being so close to the fire (and hearing it when they tugged on it to make more hot air) made me a little uneasy because of my long curly hair blowing in the wind, but it was still a really fun experience to be high in the sky. I'd much rather look at all the pretty colors of the balloons while on the ground though.

How beautiful! My family used to visit Albuquerque lots when I was a kid, and I loved it!

That is really neat to see how they get those balloons ready to get in the air. They do a festival close to my house too, I need to make it out to watch the whole event sometime!
