Thanksgiving Green Chile And Honey Basted Turkey And A Giveaway

I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico which is in the southwest part of the USA. New Mexico is known for its green chile. This spicy pepper is a favorite to most everybody who lives here. Once you try green chile you get addicted to the taste. We New Mexicans put green chile on almost everything. My favorite way to use green chile at Thanksgiving is on my turkey. I baste my turkey with honey and green chile. The result is a delicious sweet moist turkey with a kick of spicy heat. My family just loves it. I use to baste my turkey with real honey, but that was a sticky mess. I discovered a great new way to add the honey taste to my turkey without the sticky mess.

I now sprinkle Nektar Honey Crystals on my turkey. These crystals have the wonderful taste of honey with the convenience of cane sugar. The crystals are easy to sprinkle over my turkey before baking and they form into a sweet delicious crunchy glaze.. Nektar Honey Crystals are made from real honey and cane sugar and are also great for baking, drinks, oatmeal, and more. I love them as they do not crystallize into a sticky mess like real honey. I don't have to struggle to get it out of a bottle either. The honey crystals come in a easy to pour bottle and measuring is so simple too. Unlike real honey, none gets left in the measuring cup.

Check out https://www.nektarnaturals.com/ for more information. While you are there check out their recipe section for more delicious ways to use Nektar Honey Crystals. You can find Nektar Honey Crystals at your local Walmart store.

Green Chile and Honey Basted Turkey

                  Ingredients
                               one turkey, thawed
1 stick butter, cut in small cubes
                                salt and pepper to taste
1-2 cups diced green chile, canned or thawed frozen
6 ounce bottle of Nektar Honey Crystals
Oven 350 F
Prepare your turkey for the oven by slicing small incisions all over the turkey. Stick the butter cubes into these incisions. Then sprinkle salt and pepper all over the turkey. Place turkey into pan and cover with foil. Bake the turkey according to the chart below. About 1 hour before turkey is done, uncover the turkey and rub the green chile all over it. Then sprinkle the Nektar Honey Crystals over the turkey. Place the turkey back in the over without foil and bake for an hour. I also like to use a thermometer when cooking my turkey and it should reach 165 degrees when stuck between the breast and leg.

There's so many good-looking recipes on the site, I'd want to try the roasted potato fries for snacks. This turkey looks delicious, I like the sound of the flavors. I like that this honey isn't sticky, bonus when you have kids!

I'd try the chicken salad recipe. The Nektar crystals sounds so much easier to use than honey. Thanks for the chance to win it! Jackie V
