If you are looking for ways to make non-toxic cleaners, you need to check out Soap & Soul by Lisa Bronner. This book is filled with information about green living and how to clean your home without toxic cleaners.
My non-toxic cleaning journey started with a bottle of Dr.Bronner's Magic Soaps Pure Castile Soap. I was looking for a hand soap that would not leave my hands dry and irritated. I wanted a hand soap that was not filled with toxic ingredients like fragrance and harsh cleaners. I also wanted a natural hand soap that was not expensive.
I discovered Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Soap and now this soap is a main staple in my house. I love that one 32-ounce bottle of Dr.Bronner's Pure Castile Soap makes 16 containers of hand soap. After using Dr. Bronner's castile soap for hand washing, I decided to learn about other ways to use the 18-1 concentrated castile soap. From a DIY cleaner to a laundry soap with 16 other uses that even include brushing your teeth.

This Book Is Full of Great Tips And Recipes
This amazing book is loaded with tips about how to switch out toxic ingredient cleaners with safer cleaners. There are also tips about simplifying your self-care routine by using fewer products. You will learn about navigating labels and ingredients. As well as understanding how your soaps and fabric softeners work.
This book has plenty of DIY recipes for making homemade cleaners with Dr. Bronner's Castile soap products. Check out my favorite cleaner recipe for GIY All-Purpose Cleaning Spray. This DIY cleaner can be used on many surfaces in the home. From cleaning kitchen counters to bathrooms, this is a general cleaning spray that you will use everywhere.
Dr. Bronner's GIY All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
Ingredients
1 quart (1 L) water
¼ cup (60 ml) Pure-Castile Liquid Soap OR 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Sal Suds Cleaner
20 drops tea tree essential oil (optional)
Fill a spray bottle with the water first. (The order is important here because if you put the water in second, you’ll get an overflow of bubbles. It’s messy.) Add the Pure-Castile Soap or Sal Suds and the tea tree essential oil if desired. Swirl gently to mix. Spray surfaces and wipe with a damp cloth. Alternatively, spray a damp cloth and wipe surfaces. The dampness in the cloth is important because it is this water that the soap will latch on to for rinsing. If you spray and wipe with a dry cloth, you’ll leave soap behind.
