 As a follower of Christ, we learn to place our hope in Him. We do this by reading the bible, praying, attending church, and having fellowship with other believers. As we follow Christ, we experience His love for us. 

We also learn, through reading the bible, that Jesus will be coming back one day. The event of Jesus coming back may have some folks trying to predict when He is returning. These folks may think that they know the day on which Christ will come back to guide His children home and they may try to convince others of a specific day. 

So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. Matthew 24:44

Jesus will indeed come back one day but the bible also tells us that no man will know the exact day and time. The movie The Hopeful is a true story about a church that thought that they knew the day that Jesus was coming back. Keep reading to discover more about this amazing movie.

"The Hopeful" unveils the true-life story of William Miller, a simple country farmer turned influential preacher, whose post-war search for divine purpose leads him to predict Christ’s return. About The Hopeful: William Miller’s faith is in ruins. After miraculously surviving a fierce battle in the War of 1812, Miller questions why God spared him.  I was excited to view the movie Route 60: The Biblical Highway before it came to theaters. To be able to learn more about events that happened in the bible and see the places where Jesus and others in the bible stood is like a private at-home tour of Isreal. The history that I was going to learn was going to be like I was on a trip to see the Holy Land.

 I enjoyed watching this incredible movie. I loved that it was a live tour that was led by world-changing diplomats David Friedman and Mike Pompeo. as they ventured down this sacred two-lane highway known as Route 60. To see these men treading the very ground Abraham, Jacob, King David, and Jesus once walked was very cool. I liked that David Friedman not only pointed out places where King David lived but he also told the stories from the bible. The narration of the bible verses brought these historical places to life and I learned so much.

~ David Friedman served as the U.S. Ambassador to Israel under President Donald Trump. A Nobel Prize nominee and National Security Medal recipient for his efforts in helping secure the historic Abraham Accords, he is the bestselling author of Sledgehammer: How Breaking with the Past Brought Peace to the Middle East.

~ Mike Pompeo served as both U.S. Secretary of State and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency under President Donald Trump and as a four-term U.S. Representative for the Fourth District of Kansas. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller Never Give an Inch: Fighting for the America I Love.

Jeruselum is mentioned 699 times in the Bible and 2nd place is Bethel which is mentioned 60 times.

The Hebrew name Bethel means “house of God” and is a town in Isreal that has significant importance in the bible. Bethel is first mentioned in the Bible in connection with Abram, who built an altar to God there and the movie taught me why Bethel was mentioned so many times in the bible. 

The Pool of Bethesda

 I saw the place where The Pool of Bethesda was discovered through an archaeological dig conducted in the 19th century. The Bethesda Pool was the site of One of Jesus’ Miracles. This is the miracle story in John 5:2-9 where Jesus heals the paralytic man who was never was able to get to the water.

Visually stunning and compelling storytelling

This trek on Route 60 is far more than a two-lane highway; it is a historic, sacred link to the roots of Judaism and Christianity and the stories of the Old and New Testaments. The movie ROUTE 60 combines the truth of the Bible with undeniable archaeological proof. While most of the buildings from ancient biblical times are gone, it was awesome to see some of the buildings that survived. It is truly a fascinating movie to watch.

The movie Jesus Revolution was a movie that had me joyfully remembering the details of how I gave my life to Christ. While watching this faith-based movie, I had flashbacks of the events and people that helped me in my decision on choosing to walk with Jesus. It was sharing the information about the Jesus Revolution with older friends at my church, that made me really want to see the movie.

When I shared the Jesus Revolution movie information, many of the older folks at church got excited that they made a movie about a time in their Christian walk that Time magazine dubbed A Jesus Revolution.

 These friends lived in California, during the time the events took place, and knew all about the Jesus Revolution. It was during this time in history that they gave their lives to Christ. One friend even attended Pastor Chuck Smith's church. Hearing their stories just inspired me to see the movie.

Did the Jesus Revolution help create contemporary churches?

 After watching the Movie about the Jesus Revolution, I had a lot of thoughts in my head. Did this movement help create contemporary churches throughout the United States? I was only five during this movement in California and did not attend church. When I did start attending church, while I was a teen, I remember the old traditional church style.

 I do remember in the '80s, while in high school, attending a Christian group called Young Life. I sang contemporary songs with Young Life. It was the leaders of the Young Life group that helped me start on the pathway to Christianity. I was also thankful for the contemporary church that I later attended.
