Easy To Make Pizza Rolls

This is one of those recipes where you say why did I not think of that. I was at the park the other day having lunch with a friend. She pulled these wonderful looking rolls out of her lunch bag. I asked her what they were and she told me pizza rolls. I, of course, asked her how she made them. She told me just like cinnamon rolls but with pizza ingredients. I had to make them that night. These are easy to make with pizza dough, sauce, and cheese. You can use homemade pizza dough or store bought.

Roll out the dough to about  12 X 16 inches with a rolling pin on a floured board.

Spread about 1/4 cup pizza sauce on dough.

Sprinkle 1/2 pound shredded mozzarella cheese over sauce.

Then roll up dough lengthwise, tightly.

Slice into pieces about 1 and a half inches.

Place pieces into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.

Let the pizza rolls rise in a warm place for an hour. Then bake at 400 degrees for 20- 30 minutes or until the dough starts to brown.

MMMMM pizza rolls

Here is my recipe for pizza dough.

     Pizza dough recipe

2 cups flour    3/4 cup warm water

1 teaspoon salt    1 tablespoon oil

1 tablespoon sugar   1 1/2  teaspoons yeast or one yeast package

combine all ingredients in bread machine and set on dough setting. If making by hand combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir until dough forms a ball. Knead on a floured surface into a ball. Let dough rise in a warm place for an hour.
