Schar Artisan Bakers Bread ~ The Best Wheat-Free Bread

When people discover I can't eat wheat, they always reply, "That must be hard, I could never give up bread!" When I discovered that I was allergic to wheat, giving up bread was hard. I was sad that I would never enjoy a slice of bread with butter.

Having multiple food allergies can be tough, especially when they happen as an adult. Finding allergy-friendly foods that are similar to the ones you used to enjoy can be even tougher. The one food most difficult to find a wheat-free replacement for was bread.

Shopping for gluten-free bread that tastes good can be a difficult task. While there are many gluten-free types of bread at the store, many of them do not have the same texture as regular wheat bread. Then there is the problem of finding a gluten-free bread that also does not contain dairy or soy.

After spending tons of money on dry hard loaves of gluten-free bread, I finally discovered a gluten-free bread that has a soft texture and a delicious taste. Schar Artisan Baker bread makes eating wheat-free enjoyable. I no longer have to miss the taste of bread and butter.

I received samples to facilitate this article, opinions are my own

The best gluten-free bread for those who can't eat wheat

I have multiple food allergies, wheat, dairy, soy, and mushrooms. My food allergies cause can cause severe asthma symptoms which make breathing difficult. Grocery shopping is a process that requires reading labels for ingredients and finding foods that you can eat can be tough. Finding allergy-friendly food that tastes good is even tougher.

Finding bread without wheat, dairy, and soy that resembled real bread was hard. Most of the gluten-free breads that I tried were hard with weird textures. I had almost given up on eating bread. Then I tried Schar Artisan Baker Bread and I was able to love bread again.

Schar Artisan Baker Bread looks and tastes like regular wheat bread. This bread contains no wheat, soy, dairy, egg, GMOs, or preservatives. The texture is amazing and you can enjoy the bread straight from the package. This is the best bread for sandwiches and for slathering up with butter. This bread does not fall apart.

Schar Artisan Baker Bread is Now Soy-Free

Last year Schar took soy out of their Artisan Baker's Bread and I was able to try their gluten-free bread. I was able to sample Schar's bread at Expo West. One bite was all I needed to make this my favorite wheat-free bread. These delicious loaves of bread are available in white, multigrain, and 10 grains & seeds.

I love all three varieties of Schar Artisan Bakers Bread. My favorite way to enjoy this bread is straight out of the package with plenty of vegan butter. I also enjoy this bread with avocado slices and everything bagel spice. This bread is also amazing for plant-based burgers.

Schar Artisan Baker Bread has an irresistible texture that is perfect for avocado toast and other favorite sandwiches. For those who have gluten issues, this fresh, never frozen bread is Certified gluten-free. You can find this bread in the gluten-free section of most grocery stores or online at https://www.schaer.com

1. Happy Grub Pancake Mixes

Happy Grub makes breakfast fun and easy. Happy Grub is designed to bring families together in the kitchen. The pancake mix ingredients are all natural and organic, so you can be confident in what you are eating too! I just love the cute bottles that the pancake mix is in. 2. Verb Caffeinated Energy Bars

I discovered Verb Caffeinated Energy Bars last March at Expo West but I did not try them until a couple of weeks ago. I was "a drink an energy drink before the gym person" and "enjoy my cup of coffee after the gym person." So I really did not have a need for more caffeine. The Verb Bars just stayed in my pantry in my snack box.

Then a fitness influencer told me the facts about exercising without eating breakfast and how it could be hurting my fitness goals. So I ditched the energy drinks and decided to try the Verb Caffeinated Bars for three weeks to see if it made a difference in my gym routine. I was amazed at my increase in energy from the Verb Bars and that helped me to lose 2 pounds! I was hooked on the delicious bars for my before-the-gym caffeine boost.

The Verb Bars have the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee and it comes from green tea. I had only tried the smores flavor of the Verb Caffeinate bars so I was glad that the Verb booth had different flavors of their energy bars. The delicious bars are available in 13 flavors. These bars are the delicious solution to the 2 p.m. slump. Say goodbye to overpriced lattes, sugar cravings & post-coffee jitters

4. Nuzest Plant-Based Protein

I was so excited that Nuzest was going to have a booth at Expo East. This was their first time at Expo East and I had to stop by the booth to meet the team behind my favorite plant-based protein powder. I have been using Nuzest vegan protein since 2016 and this allergy-friendly protein is always in my pantry.

Nuzest had samples of their new Protein Greens + Berries and Protein + Microbiotics along with their Clean Lean Protein and Kids Good Stuff. So I stopped by the Nuzest Booth to say hello and to grab a sample of the Clean Lean Protein Powder in vanilla.

5. EQUII Protein Bread

I am always looking for ways to get my teenage son to eat more protein as he is an athlete and does not eat meat. So I was happy to discover a bread that had 10 grams of protein per slice. My son loves peanut butter sandwiches so I knew that he had to try this wheat bread.

EQUII Classic Wheat Bread has 10 Grams of Complete Protein and all 9 Essential Amino Acids in each slice. Equii uses a special fermentation process to produce high-quality protein that is easily absorbed by the body. This bread also has 50% less sugar and 30% fewer carbs than other breads. EQUII bread is a game-changer for health-conscious consumers, athletes, and those on meat-restricted diets.

8. Pickle Juice

I love drinking Pickle Juice after a sweaty workout. This hydration+ drink has a great taste and has so many benefits beyond hydration.

Pickle Juice (not to be confused with pickle brine) is the only product on the market scientifically proven to stop muscle cramps, prevent dehydration, and aid in recovery. It uses a proprietary grain and blend of vinegar that blocks that nerve signal being sent from brain to muscle, and a blend of vitamins and minerals for immediate muscle recovery. Whether you are missing something from your diet, exhausted from exercise, wake up in the middle of the night with foot cramps, or are dealing with poor circulation, Pickle Juice can provide a source of relief.

9. Jack & Friends Jackfruit Jerky

Most plant-based jerky is made from mushrooms or soy protein and those with food allergies to either of these ingredients miss out on eating jerky. Since I am allergic to soy and mushrooms, my craving for meat-free jerky has not been satisfied. I was so excited to discover Jack & Friends Jackfruit Jerky.

This jerky is made from jackfruit and pea protein and is so delicious. I love that a serving has 15 grams of protein and 9 grams of fiber. It even has the same texture as meat jerky. I might just be enjoying this jerky for breakfast and I am thinking that it would be great to use in a vegan BLT sandwich.

10. Zeroe Plant Based Caviar

This past summer I tried caviar for the first time and I was not impressed at the taste. Then a week later, when I watched a video on how they harvest caviar, I was glad that I did not like real caviar. Most people know that caviar is fish eggs but they don't realize the disgusting and unethical way that caviar is made.

So when I saw a booth at Expo East sampling plant-based caviar, I just had to try it. The taste of Zeroe Plant Based Caviar was amazing! This caviar is 100% Vegan and sustainably Sourced and no fish were harmed in the process. It is made from seaweed off the coast of France. The texture of Zeroe is also amazing and it will go great with my Vegan Smoked Salmon on my homemade gluten-free bagels.

11. Scotts Protein Balls

These delicious protein balls are plant-based and allergy-friendly. So they are the perfect snack for me since I have multiple food allergies. I like that Scotts Protein Balls are made with superfood ingredients and they are dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and contain no preservatives. These protein balls are made with fresh ingredients so they have to be stored in the refrigerator.

They have 8 grams of protein per serving and are available in ten flavors, including Cinnamon Bun, Peanut Butter Cup, Pumpkin Spice, Peanut Butter Cacao, Mint Chocolate Chip, Brownie Batter, Confetti, Snickerdoodle, Java Peanut Butter, and Red Velvet. My favorite flavor was Peanut Butter Cacao.

12. Once Again’s Sunflower Butter Graham Cracker Sandwiches

I was happy to find gluten-free graham crackers filled with sunflower butter! These delicious snacks will be perfect for when the granddaughters visit. These allergy-friendly treats fit all the boxes for both my food allergies and my daughter's food allergies. I am allergic to dairy and wheat and my daughter is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts.

The graham crackers are made with a blend of organic sorghum flour, oat flour, and cassava, while the filling is made from sunflower seeds. 12 Gluten Free Products That You Need To Try

Having to eat products that do not contain wheat can be tough. Thankfully there are many gluten-free products that make great substitutes and taste so delicious.

I recently had to eliminate wheat from my diet due to a possible wheat allergy. Having to be wheat free has not been easy but I am thankful for the many delicious gluten-free products that are available.

It was in the year 2021 that I had allergy testing done. My allergy panel results showed that I was allergic to way too many plants, weeds, grass, trees, and wheat. The allergy testing did not show that I was allergic to dairy since I eliminated dairy from my diet in 2018. I did not need confirmation of my dairy allergy as I had discovered through a food allergy blood test that a dairy allergy was the reason for my severe asthma symptoms.

I thought it was strange that the testing of allergies indicated that I could be allergic to wheat. The doctor said that false positives could happen with food allergy testing but recommended that I eliminate wheat from my diet for 6 weeks to see if it made a difference in my asthma. After 6 weeks of being wheat free in 2021 and then eating wheat products again, it made no difference in my asthma symptoms.

Allergy shots and a temporary wheat allergy

A year later, while I was 8 months into the allergy shot build-up phase, my asthma symptoms started to get worse. At first, I thought that this was due to my allergy shot serum getting stronger but the strange thing was I was not having asthma attacks every day. So I decided to keep a food log and discovered it was on the days that I ate wheat, that I had an asthma attack 2 hours after eating food that contained wheat. So I eliminated wheat from my diet and the severe asthma attacks went away.

The allergy doctor, says my wheat allergy may be temporary, while I receive the higher doses of my allergy shots, and may go away in June when I am done with the build-up phase of allergy shots. So I have been on a wheat-free diet since November. It has been quite the challenge to be wheat-free in addition to eating no dairy.

I was able to grab samples of my favorite gluten-free products to take home and I now have a well-stocked pantry of food that is safe for me to eat.

Below are the gluten-free products that I am enjoying and they are ones that you need to try. Brands have really stepped up their game of producing gluten-free products that taste so similar to ones that contain wheat.

I remember many years ago when I tried gluten-free pasta for the first time and I was not impressed.  When you have to eat wheat free and want Mexican food, your option is usually corn tortillas. While I like eating corn tortillas, they tend to be stiff and easily break.  I was so happy to discover Maria and Ricardo’s Gluten-Free Tortillas. These tortillas are gluten-free, and dairy-free. This company has 2 options for gluten-free tortillas ~ gluten-free and almond flour with several flavor options. All the tortillas are made with Non-GMO ingredients. The gluten-free variety of tortillas are made of quinoa, cauliflower, or sweet potato while the almond flour tortillas come in flavors like plain, everything, and flax & seeds.
