Love Cold Brew Coffee But Not The Long Brew Time

  I love cold brew coffee as it has a less bitter taste than traditional coffee. Cold brew coffee also has a rich, sweet, smooth taste that can only be achieved by soaking the coffee grounds in cold water for 12-24 hours. You see, the bitter taste that traditional coffee can have is caused by brewing the coffee grounds in hot water and that can also cause the coffee to have more acidity. When I drink cold brew coffee, I add way less sugar too my cup as it has a sweet, delicious taste. So I do love a good cup of cold brew coffee but the one frustration that I have when it comes to cold brew coffee is the long time it takes to brew so most mornings I make hot coffee as I forgot to start my cold brew coffee the night before.

The grounds are slowly steeped for 12 hours in cold water, a key to creating the smooth flavor. Traditionally, coffee grounds are brewed in hot water, which oxidizes them more quickly and causes the resulting coffee to be aromatic but very bitter. I do love my fancy coffee drinks as they are such a yummy treat. I like making my coffee drinks at home as the ones that you get at the fancy coffee shops are not only pricey but loaded with sugar and calories. I want to share with you a wonderful low calorie/sugar-free coffee drink that is perfect for the holidays. This Gingerbread coffee is so yummy! It is my holiday guilt-free indulgent drink. I make my delicious drink with Sweet’N Low® and I found this wonderful recipe on their website along with many other drink recipes that are perfect for the holidays. You need to try this recipe.  Gingerbread Coffee 

 Ingredients

½ cup ground coffee

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground ginger

¼ teaspoon cloves

2 packets Sweet’N Low zero-calorie sweetener

¼ cup fat-free half and half

 Preparation

In filter, basket combine coffee, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves and brew coffee with 4 cups water. Divide between 2 coffee cups and stir in Sweet’N Low and a half and half.

     I never knew the power of coffee until now!

  For most people that cup coffee means energy. I know a lot of people who can't wake up until they had that first cup of coffee. I am not one of those people who need coffee first thing in the morning.
