How To Keep Baby Skin Healthy And Soft

I received samples from My Little North Star Organics to facilitate this post.

I graduated to grandma last year and I am loving my new title. It was last August that I became a grandma and I am in love with this cute little girl. My grandbaby is the cutest and she is perfect from head to toe. She has perfectly soft baby skin and I know that my daughter is taking good care of her skin. My daughter uses skin care products that are made for baby's delicate skin which is good as this baby has sensitive skin just like her mom did as a baby. All my kids had eczema as babies and they all outgrew it except for my youngest son. My youngest son still has eczema but you would never know by looking at his skin as his skin shows nothing. This son who is now 11, has helped me discover the best products to keep his skin eczema free. So now I am passing on my experience of sensitive skin care to my daughter.

We’ve all said it at some point, “soft as a baby’s bottom” While babies may have perfectly soft skin, it is also extremely delicate and requires extra care.

My boys are 11 and 12 so it has been a while since I have had to bathe a baby but I do remember how sensitive baby skin can be. Baby skin needs extra care and my daughter discovered that last month when she applied a lavender scented lotion on the baby's skin. The baby broke out in a rash. At first, my daughter thought that maybe the rash was caused by carrots. My daughter has many food allergies, including peanuts, so she is introducing new foods one at a time to my grandbaby. My daughter tried carrots again and the baby had no rash so that is when she discovered that it was the lavender baby lotion that caused the rash.

Crafted specifically for babies, this product is made from only pure and organic ingredients to soothe babies with any type of sensitive skin or allergies.

I am helping my daughter learn that chemical-free and non-toxic skin care products are best for her baby's soft skin. I am teaching my daughter to select products that use essential oils as fragrance. As that is what I have learned over the past couple of years with my son's sensitive skin. I love introducing my daughter to new baby products and ones that are organic are always my favorite. It makes perfect sense to me to use organic baby wash and lotion on baby skin. Skin is our largest organ and what we apply to it affects our whole body. Baby skin is thinner than adult skin so it is more susceptible to damage and irritation as it continues to develop during their first year of life. So avoiding harsh and toxic ingredients are even more important.

So, do organic products really make a difference in babies’ lives? Yes, they do. It’s not only what we put in our babies’ bodies, but also what we put ON their bodies… after all, skin is our largest organ.

My son is enjoying My Little North Star Organics baby products and loves the way it smells. He likes the citrus scent and is happy that it does not have a typical baby powder scent like most baby products. We will be sharing this baby shampoo/body wash with the baby. My daughter will love that the baby shampoo is tear-free as we don't want that cute little baby to cry from soap in her eyes. Their products are made from only pure and organic ingredients so they are great for big kid sensitive skin and delicate baby skin. Their chemical free and non-toxic baby shampoo and body wash are made with lavender and orange essential oils to create a tranquil bath for everyone involved. I love that it is vegan and never tested on animals.

My Little North Star Organics is tear-free, hypoallergenic and contains no harsh chemicals making it perfect for babies/kids with sensitive skin, eczema or allergies.

Preventing Painful Eczema With Botanical Skin Care Products

This year will be the year that my son will not suffer from eczema!

I received several Botanical Skin Care Products to facilitate this post.

I remember having severe eczema as a kid so I feel for my son and buy products that will prevent flare-ups. My eczema was so bad as a kid that I kept my hands in my pockets all winter. My hands were a source of embarrassment for me as no one wanted to sit near me after they saw my dry cracked bleeding hands. I remember countless doctor trips and the doctor telling my mom to try another over the counter cream that was supposed to help my painful skin. The problem was that the ingredients in the so-called eczema creams were just making my skin worse as my skin was ultra sensitive. I hated having sensitive skin as a kid and it did not get better until I was an adult and I moved out of my parent's house. A doctor also prescribed a steroid cream that cleared my skin. I later learned that I was allergic to mold and had other chemical sensitivities.

My knowledge of eczema helps my son

So when my son did not outgrow his eczema as a baby, (all my kids had eczema as babies), I had plenty of experience to help him or so I thought so. My son's eczema got worse as he got older and most all lotions left him screaming in pain. So it was hard to treat his chapped hands in the winter when the lotions that were supposed to help burned his skin. So I eliminated all chemical bath products and bought my son products that had natural ingredients. I found that 100% shea butter was the only cream that did not irritate my son's skin. The only problem is it can be very greasy so my son forgets to use it until winter comes and his hands are red and sore. So this year I am trying Botanical Skin Care Products to see if we can prevent the painful chapped skin this winter.

I am trying Botanical Skin Care Products

My son's hands already feel like tough leather and have that dirty look to them. My son is a typical boy and gets dirty. He still needs to be reminded about hand washing too. He recently sprained a finger so he is not washing his hands as often as he should as taking off the finger brace is a pain for him. The weather is getting colder so I know that his hands will start to get very chapped and red. So I told my son that he needs to start applying the Calm Eczema Therapy Cream every night before bed. Maybe this will be the year his skin feels good.

Botanical ingredients do not burn the skin

My son was hesitant to try the Eczema Therapy Cream as he is always afraid that they will hurt. So with a bit of coaxing, he allowed me to rub the cream on his dry skin. My son did not complain and the eczema cream made his hands feel softer. I loved that it was not greasy and was free of Sodium Lauryl Sulfates. My son has sensitivities to SLS, a common ingredient in toothpaste and other body care products. So I am an ingredient reader when it comes to his personal care products.

Safe for babies

I believe that prevention is always the best when it comes to my son's eczema. We avoid the things that cause my son's skin to flare up rather than treating it with prescription creams. I know that salt, citrus fruits, and pineapple aggravate his skin along with most all chemicals so my son stays away from those things. I think that may be a reason he avoids washing his hands at school as their soap is chemical based. Doctors always ask me if my son has eczema, as it is in his medical chart, as they don't believe it by looking at his skin. I would rather pay more for natural skin care products that keep my son's sensitive skin eczema free than see him suffer from the painful skin.

Proven Botanicals for clear skin

My teen son has been suffering from bad acne ever since he joined the Merchant Marine Academy. I think the change in climate and his diet may have something to do with it. My son has been trying different products from the store at the academy and none of them are helping to clear up his skin. My son even got a prescription from the doctor but the acne still remains on his face. When I see pictures of him, I just think of how painful his skin is. I sent my son probiotics to see if they could help his acne. but I am not sure if he remembers to take them every day. My son is even cutting back on milk to see if they will help clear his skin.

Will the Clear Acne Kit help my son?

I like that the Clear Acne Kit has proven botanical ingredients in it that are clinically proven to clear the skin up. My teenager still needs convincing that chemicals may be aggravating his skin so when he comes home for fall break, I will have him try the Clear Acne Kit on his face to see if it can clear up all those blemishes on his face. Maybe him having the time away from all the busy stress of school for six days will also help his acne breakouts.

 I love the natural ingredients

The natural botanicals in the acne face products sound so soothing to me. I love that they have no dyes or benzoyl peroxide in them. I am allergic to benzoyl peroxide and I think my son may have some sensitivities to it also as it leaves his skin way to dry. My teen son had an episode this past summer from red dye that left his skin in hives for two days. So I am excited to have him try these non-toxic skin care products. The box says that they work in 12 hours. If they work, the sizes are perfect for him to take back in his carry-on bag on the airplane.

Clear skin is always a good thing

My son has not had clear skin for quite some time so this mom will have him try the Clear Acne products as I want his skin to feel better. He will be able to focus on school better as he will be spending less time focusing on his zit filled face. These three products will be easy for him to use.

Green Beauty Products That I Discover For Cooler Days

Take your summer glow into the fall months with these green beauty products.

I received a box of organic skin care products from Sanre to facilitate this post.

The cooler weather will be here before I know it. Here in Albuquerque our cooler temperatures usually start at the beginning of October around the time our Balloon Fiesta begins and that is just the morning/evening temperatures. The daytime temps stay warm enough for shorts up until November. There have been many Halloweens here that my kids are too warm in their costumes. It is always the early morning of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta that I am complaining about having to wear jeans. It is hard to transition from wearing shorts and a tank top the day before to jeans and a jacket. I am always glad that I dressed warm as it quite chilly at 5:30 am while waiting for the hot air balloons to go up. By 10 am I am stripping off the layers as it back to 70 degrees. The hot/cold temperatures can do a number on my skin so it is around this time that I start using thicker creams on my dry skin. This fall I am excited to use some new organic SkinFood products that I received the other day.

Natural organic ingredients are best for my skin

I received samples of beauty products to facilitate this post.

I try to eat natural organic food so it makes perfect sense to me to put organic ingredients on my skin. My son's sensitive skin has made me more conscious of what I put on my skin. So I want to keep my skin healthy the same way I do for my body. When this box of skinfood products arrived, I was like a kid in a candy store and I just had to try them all. I really liked the names of Sanre creams and they all had wonderful natural scents that did not affect my allergies. If a product has a chemical scent, I will start coughing due to my sensitive lungs. My husband brought home a hand lotion from his last trip that did not have a natural fragrance and it set me into an allergy fit when he applied it to his hands. So he now uses it in the morning before I wake up.

My favorite organic cream was the C-Love as it had a nice cherry scent. The Supple Sunshine -Solar- was my favorite cream to use at bedtime as it had soothing lavender in it. These skinfood creams were thick and made my skin feel so smooth.

Natural fragrances are always good for my allergies

The next two products that I pulled out of the box was a purifying cleanser and a hemp serum. I was amazed at how well this cleanser cleaned my skin. I took a shower the night before after wearing makeup, so I thought my face was clean. I guess my soap in the shower missed some spots as my white washcloth turned brown and I did not leave the house that day. After I washed my face I used the serum which was a nicely scented oil. I like applying oils to my face for intense hydration. I find that while oils make my skin so soft, they also make my skin look greasy so I use beauty oils before bed.

Lips that taste like chocolate is awesome!

I got excited when I saw a Chocolate Lips moisturizer as I love anything with the taste of chocolate. This lip product had a sweet taste to it but it did not taste like chocolate to me. That is probably a good thing as I would be licking my lips all day. The Sweet Lips also had a nice taste to it but it was not sugary. I guess the nice taste is good as I tend to lick my lips. So you will never see me wearing lipstick as they taste bad and they get messy on me.

The last products were sample sizes but these teasers of a product were fun to try. The radiant glow was too dark for my skin but it blended quite well into my skin so I might just have to buy a shade lighter for some natural color on my face. I loved the Vanilla Sensation Solar as it smelled so good and I would be better about applying my sunscreen when it smells like vanilla and has organic ingredients in it.

Sunscreen that smells like vanilla gets me excited

WHAT MAKES SANRE UNIQUE

Sanre makes there products in small batches by hand and they use safe organic ingredients that one can recognize, ones that are non-toxic. These ingredients are nourishing and healing to the skin like food is to the body. I love that use cold-pressed USDA Organic Oils and natural scents from spices and fruit extracts. The spices that they choose also have skin benefits that help with inflammation, bacteria, and wrinkles. In fact, many of the ingredients are found in foods that we eat. Your skin is like a sponge so what you rub on your face does get into your bloodstream. So if an ingredient is not safe to eat, is it safe to put on your skin? This is my new thinking about my skincare products that I am trying to use. Go take a look at Sanre's website and see all the wonderful natural ingredients that they put into their products. I wish the internet had a way to transport scent as these products smell so amazing!

Which of these products would you like to try?

Dr Jacobs Naturals Is The Affordable Natural Soap For Sensitive Skin

I love saving money on products for my sensitive skin child.

Disclosure:  I received products to review for my honest opinion.

Having to buy natural products that my son can use costs more money. My son had bad skin issues until we discovered what products to use on his skin. I am willing to pay more money if that keeps his skin happy. I remember when I was a kid and I had bad eczema. The doctor would tell my mom to keep trying different creams to clear up my skin. The problem was none of them made the dry cracked and bleeding skin problem better. The creams probably made my skin worse. It was not until I became an adult did I discover what things made my skin flare up. So I just avoided touching those things and my skin was fine most of the time. My skin contact problems were salt, mold, and citrus. My youngest son got his skin sensitivities from me but he is way more sensitive.  My son's skin will even flare up with products that are made for babies and sensitive skin so I have to buy 100% natural products for him. The problem is those can be quite pricey. The natural toothpaste that he likes costs $7.00 a tube! So I get quite excited when I discover 100% natural soaps that are affordable

When my Dr. Jacobs Naturals arrived the other day, my son opened the box and began smelling the soaps. He said that they smelled good. I checked the ingredient list on the bottle and all the ingredients were natural and safe for his skin.  I loved that the soap was made from coconut and olive oils with essential oils added for an amazing scent. The soaps were even dual-purposed as they could be used for body wash and shampoo. You can even use the soap with shaving! Thankfully my son does not shave yet. The smaller bottle came with a pump so it will last longer. My son tends to use too much when he uses a squeeze bottle.

Lots of amazing scents!

We were sent the Honey Almond and Charcoal liquid soap. The bar soap that we received was Minty Cucumber Mojito. My son loved the Honey Almond the best as it had a nice nutty smell. I thought the Charcoal had a citrus scent and I loved the mint scent of the bar soap. So my son will use the Honey Almond and I will be using the other two. I like using natural soaps as they are less drying on my skin. Regular soap leaves my skin extremely dry and itchy. My skin is less itchy with natural soap. My husband thinks it is funny that I am itchy after my shower. He thinks that the water should make my skin soft but the warm shower water dries it out so I only shower a couple times a week. The coconut and olive oils along with the vitamin E in these soaps made my dry skin feel hydrated and less itchy.  Check out the other amazing scents that Dr. Jacobs Naturals carries:

Almond Honey
Citrus
Coconut
Eucalyptus
Lavender
Peppermint
Rose
Shea Butter
Sweet Tea Tree
Unscented

I like that the natural soaps are sold in big bottles at half the price that I was paying for my son's other soap and shampoo. I also like that I can get free shipping when I buy $20.00!

Free shipping on all orders over $20. Use code FREESHIP20 at Checkout at https://drjacobsnaturals.com!

Big Kids Like Babytime Too

I am always on the hunt for body care products that my 9-year-old sensitive skin son can use and enjoy. I have found that even though the label says sensitive skin, it does not always past the Jesse test. There have been many products that I have tried on my son’s skin and he either breaks out in a rash or he complains it stings. It amazes me that this child can play in the dirt and his skin is fine but I can apply a lotion to his skin and he complains that it hurts.

Sponsored: I received bath products from Babytime to facilitate this post

I was so happy when I discovered Babytime skin care products. I love that the colorful labels appeal to my big kid and are not babyish to him. My son loves that the labels have colorful fruit guys on them. The best part is how they smell. These awesome skin care products get their wonderful scents from natural oils and fruit extracts. I really like that Babytime color codes their healthy ingredients on their labels so you can know which ones are natural, organic, or plant based. That makes it really easy for me to spot ingredients that my son may be sensitive to. These products are also vegan and gluten free.

My son was excited to try the Babytime products. I first applied a bit of the Snuggly Cherry scented lotion to his arm to check for sensitivities. My son said "it feels good!" and then I smelled his arm. His arm had a nice light cherry scent to it. I was so relieved that this lotion passed the sensitivity test as for now only shea butter has passed the test on his skin.

My son was also excited to try the Playful Wash and Peaceful Bubbles as he thought they smelled awesome. I liked that both of these products could be used as a shampoo and had moisturizing oils in them. My son does not like to comb his hair so when it is soft it is easier for me to comb it.

Bathtime was a success for my son also as he did not feel itchy afterward. I am glad these Babytime skin care products not only passed the skin test with my son but that they also passed the cool looking test. My son and I really like the colorful logos on these products.
