PurpleTrail is The Best Custom Planner For Bloggers and More

A planner is a must-have tool for bloggers, parents, students, and more.

I received a planner to facilitate this post

Most successful bloggers know the value of having a planner and having one that you can customize is even better. Whether you are just starting out in online blogging or have been blogging for quite some time, a planner is a must-have tool that you need to have. A planner is one of the best ways to keep track of everything that you need to remember. Some people like to use their computer as their daily planner but for me, I think a paper planner is the best tool for a place to keep track of all your work-related items and more.

If you are serious about making blogging as a way to earn money, then you need to invest in the best custom planner for bloggers. For me, blogging is my full-time job and a planner helps me be organized. My planner is so much more than just a calendar. My planner is a place that I keep track of my writing assignments, expenses, and so much more. I like having a planner to also keep track of items outside my blogging life, like doctor appointments and all those other appointments that my kids have. A planner is my way of keeping my life and work organized.

Getting organized for the day, month, and year

There is something special about having a planner that you can write in and look at even when you are not online. Some people who work from home, swear by their electronic planner for being the best way to keep track of their daily work, expenses, and payments but for me, the custom planner that I create every year works best for my type of work. I once tried to keep track of appointments and assignments through an online planner but I found it to be too time-consuming. Having to open several windows to keep track of my work was quite annoying, to say the least.

Your Planner ~ Your Style

Once you decide what type of planner that best suits your planning needs, there are hundreds of planner covers to select from. I had a hard time selecting the photo that I wanted for my planner cover. The fun is not over yet. Once I selected a cover photo for my new planner, I then had the option to customize the look even more with color selections, adding words, and more. I selected the Ice Cream Melt Daily Planner cover as I do love ice cream. My unique planner shopping experience had so many options for me to select from and I was having fun making a planner that had all the pages that I needed. PurpleTrail Planners was my pick and choose what I wanted in a planner.

To be successful as a blogger, I need the right tools. From my custom photo studio to a workspace to write my articles, my custom planner is a yearly expense that always put into my work expenses. Sure I could just buy a standard planner, but I find that a standard planner does not have the planner pages that I need to be fully organized. When I have the right tools to be organized, I am able to work better and use my time wisely. I find that I get more things done when I am prepared for my job. My custom blog planner helps me to plan, create and make money.

What I love about my PurpleTrail Planner

Checklist pages for keeping track of the money that I make from blogging

I had fun making my blogger planner from PurpleTrail. From selecting the Ice Cream Melt cover to adding my website name, this planner was something that made me happy to look at. I like that my planner was an 18-month planner, so I could plan for the future. This planner had a laminate cover so I did not have to worry about my cover getting dirty. The planner was spiral-bound, so that made it easy to turn the pages. I also loved the tabs that made it easy to find the month that I needed.

The inside of my planner had a full calendar for every month with big spaces to write notes on. Then each month had my weekly planning spaces that were organized by morning, afternoon, and evening with plenty of space to write down my to-do list. I really loved the optional pages that I selected for my planner. I selected plenty of pages that were made for keeping track of all my passwords and websites. The checklist pages were perfect for keeping track of the money that I make from blogging. So I could write down the amount I was being paid and check off when I received the payment. I could also use the checklist pages for the blogging expenses that I made each month. These checklist pages would make keeping track of my income and expenses so easy.

PurpleTrail is more than planners

While I love PurpleTrail for my planner needs, this website is so much more. PurpleTrail is the place to shop for cards, address labels, invitations, guest books, stationery, and even business promo items. All of these items can be uniquely made to fit your style. So don't delay the purchase of your planner for next year and head to PurpleTrail to start creating a planner that is made for your style and needs.

How To Repurpose A Small Space Into A Home Office With Photo Wall

Breathe New Life Into Your Living Space With Photo Wall

I received a canvas print from Photo Wall to facilitate this post

Since this pandemic started, I have learned how to adapt my workspace, and working from home has a whole new meaning to me. It was only supposed to be two weeks, which is what my city said when the kid's school shut down and my husband started working from home. I look back on that day in March when a lung virus called Covid-19 changed my life in a way that I would have never imagined.

When I learned that my three kids would be attending school from home and my husband would be doing his work from our couch in the family room, I was ready to pick up my laptop and start working from the bathroom that connected to my newly remodeled master bedroom. I knew that it would be the only way I would have a quiet space to work from. My husband was considered an essential worker and his job required him to be on the phone most of the day. I was thankful that my bathroom was large enough for a comfy bean bag chair and had plenty of windows to let in the natural light.

Those two weeks turned into 4 months and the five of us were spread throughout the house doing schoolwork, jobs, and me maintaining my website. My college kid was stationed in his bedroom, my husband, in the family room, myself in the bathroom, and the two boys were in their bedrooms. Finally, in July, my son was able to head back to New York to the Merchant Marine Academy. I was happy for my son but I was even more excited to take over his bedroom for my new home office. My son's bedroom was in the back of the house and far away from hearing my husband talking about the Corona Virus.

Now with one less person at home all day, I was excited to transform my son's bedroom into my home office space. I was glad that there was a desk in this bedroom along with a queen-size bed that had organic bamboo sheets. I joked with my boys that I was working from a hotel room as I grabbed my coffee and headed upstairs. My new computer space was quiet but it was drab and dark. My desk faced a dark wall that was covered with my son's race medals and his bulletin board. The only small window is covered with styrofoam for the winter as this room is over an uninsulated garage. So I needed a way to repurpose this small space into a home office.

I discovered a place that sells canvas prints, posters, and more. I was amazed at the huge selection at Photo Wall and knew that a canvas print would breathe new life into my son's bedroom to help me be more productive while working from home. My plan was to hang a canvas print on the wall that was behind my computer so I have something to gaze upon that was uplifting.

I selected a photo of a scene from a tropical beach. The Bungalow on the Beach print was perfect in so many ways. This canvas print was so beautiful and reminded me of a trip that I took to a beach resort four years ago. The photo canvas was so realistic and all I needed was the sounds of the ocean to help me feel like I was looking at a real beach. Having a large photograph of a beach scene to look at would take my mind away from the fact that I was working in a dark bedroom and would help me focus better on my work.

I also selected the canvas print photo of the beach to give me hope. This was the year that my husband and were planning to take a beach vacation. Well, the pandemic put a stop to that with the dangers of traveling and the fact that my husband is an essential worker who is very busy right now. So the Paradise in Front of the Sea print gives me the hope that next year will be the year for my beach resort vacation.

This print on canvas arrived quickly at my house, 7 days after I ordered it. It was very easy to place the canvas print on the included wood frame. I think the hardest part was deciding which print that I wanted to buy as PhotoWall had a huge selection of prints. If you can imagine it, PhotoWall has what you want from the 18 categories that included people, nature, scenes, animals, fantasy, and more. This canvas print was vibrant and durable. PhotoWall allows you to select the size you need from small to large enough to cover a whole wall with their Wallpaper. You can even use your own images. You get to create your photo design on wallpaper, canvas prints, posters, or framed prints.

I selected a rather large canvas as I wanted the whole wall space to be covered. The space that I was hanging my tropical beach photo was 53 inches wide so I selected a 51 X 44 canvas photo print. I wanted the wall to look like an ocean beach. I also selected a large wall canvas print so it would look nice in my master bedroom when my son comes home next year and wants his bedroom back. My son will be at sea until April and I am hoping that everyone will return to school and work by then. If not, I will recreate another home office in my bedroom.

PhotoWall makes it super simple to transform a small space into a workspace. Their beautiful prints can transform a drab and dull wall into a beautiful space. If you have a space in your house that needs new life, PhotoWall makes it affordable to remodel a room with little effort. It is truly amazing how looking at a photo can make one happy. Photos have the power to change the mood of a room. So whether you need a small print for a bedroom or a large photo for a living room PhotoWall probably has the size and print that will make your wall a work of art. Perfect gift idea for the holidays!

11 Tips To Be More Productive While Working From Home

If you are still working from home, you know the struggle and while some things seem to get easier, others are still tough.

I received a Raise computer stand to facilitate this post.

It has been over seven months since my family and others have made drastic changes in the way they work and go to school. The Covid-19 pandemic has turned so many lives upside down and it does not seem like things are going to get better, any time soon. So many people, including myself and my husband, are still working from home. So many kids are attending school on a computer with way too many Google or Zoom meets. Then there are the parents who are trying to juggle working from home and homeschooling at the same time.

For some people, working from home is a dream come true and he enjoys not having the daily commute and being able to watch tv while working. My husband is able to get his work done efficiently from home. While others are still struggling with working from home, especially if you have kids. Trying to attend online meetings with the noise of kids in the background is not easy.

I used to be able to efficiently work from home, that was before the family invaded my space. Now I have kids making noise while I am trying to accomplish work from my computer. My kids are older so while they know not to bother me while I am in a conference but they still do with their many questions. The struggle is real but over the months, I have learned several tips to make work at home more efficient and manageable. These tips have helped me to be less stressed and have helped me get a better system in place so my family can all work in the same house. These tips have helped us all be more productive with our work.

The kids are home all day and they never leave

It has been so long since the kids attended school in person and while the kids are getting adjusted to virtual school, they still don't care for at-home school. When the kids started attending school, things were chaotic but these 10 Tips To Help Kids With Online School made things easier. Some of the kid school tips have even helped with my work. Another thing that really helps with the stress of everyone at home is the power of prayer. When I feel like I just can't do this anymore, I stop and pray for God to help me.

1. Make a dedicated space for work

Early on the thing that has helped most with working from home is making a dedicated space for everyone to do their work. I made sure that everyone's space was free from distractions and for the younger boys, not in their bedroom. When my college kid was home, we had five people working from home. My husband was in the living room, the college kid was in his bedroom, one kid was in my photo studio and the other was in the dining room. I set up my workspace in my master bathroom as it was the only quiet space that I could find. I was thankful that my bathroom was big and nice looking. We renovated the master bathroom a couple years earlier so it was not that bad to do my work in this space. My family would joke about my makeshift office in a bathroom but I was able to escape from the noise.

2. Work from a desk or table

Once you set up a dedicated space just for work, set up your laptop computer on a desk or a table so it feels like a real workspace. When you are at the office or the kids are at school, they do not sit on a couch. Doing your work from a couch tends to make your posture be misaligned which can make you feel tired. The couch does not make it easy for you to sit up straight and that can lower your oxygen intake which makes you feel tired. Not sitting up straight all day can lead to back and neck problems, not to mention awkward unprofessional Zoom calls.

3. Raise your computer

Since many people are making makeshift desks at the kitchen table, that too can lead to back and neck problems as your computer is at the wrong angle. A simple product that is so smart is the solution to those body aches from sitting at the laptop all day. This Premium Birch Desktop Monitor Riser can help you be more productive with your at-home work. The ergonomic design of Raise™ will de-clutter your workspace and enhance your productivity. It will help elevate your computer monitor to eye-level for optimal ergonomics, reducing neck pain, eye strain, and poor posture.

This year has shown us how fluid our work environments are and how we can be productive anywhere, as long as we have a workspace that is harmonious with our comfort and wellbeing. Meet the Raise Desktop Fixture™, our new desktop monitor riser.

This sustainability and eco-friendly desk accessory is so simple yet so smart. This is a must-have computer riser that is perfect for all those Zoom meetings. The Raise will put your face in the right position for the computer web camera so no longer will people see the top of your head or worse the ceiling fan making you look weird. When you place your Chrome Book on this 13-ply Birch veneer plywood stand, it helps you be in a perfect frame for online meetings so there are less embarrassing backgrounds while you are talking with work clients.

The Raise is elegant and its minimalist appearance makes it a seamless addition to your workspace. It can be used on any stable surface and its four silicone grommets provide grip while protecting your desktop or table. The Raise provides the perfect nesting spot for desk accessories. In fact, it was designed to integrate with their Slope™, a personal desktop whiteboard, which fits under the Raise.

4. Prevent eyestrain

Staring at a computer all day is not good for the eyes. So make sure to take regular breaks from staring at the computer screen. That break can be as simple as making sure to glance away for a couple of minutes every hour or better yet get some exercise and get up off your chair and take a walk around the house. This break is a perfect time to get a drink of water.

5. Get exercise

Exercise helps your brain think better. I like to exercise before work as Morning Exercise Is Good For The Body And The Mind. When I make the time to exercise, I not only feel amazing but I am more productive with my work. If you don't have time for fitness before work, find creative ways to work some movement into your day. Some people like to work at standing desks or pace the floor while talking on the phone. Now that my college kid is back at school, my office is in his bedroom. So I make a point to walk downstairs everyone. I do this mostly to see how my kids are doing with school. Even though my boys are in middle school and are self-sufficient, they like mom visiting them throughout the day.

I am not a morning person when it comes to energy, so I need a boost, and these CBD Living Energy Shots help me to hit the ground running. These delicious mixed berry shots have 200 mg of caffeine plus 30 mg Broad Spectrum Nano CBD. I like that these shots combine CBD with caffeine so they are also great to use later on in the day for awesome focusing effects with the calming effects of CBD. They are also sugar-free so I don't get a sugar rush or crash.

6. Eat a healthy lunch

Working from home makes it tempting to grab unhealthy snacks. The kitchen is right there calling your name and it is so easy to grab a handful of cookies instead of taking the time to make a nutritious meal. I get it that you are busy and don't have time to make a meal. So stock your fridge with grab and go healthy food that will fill you up. When you make meal prep easy with ready to eat meals, you will not reach for the junk food.

7. Get Dressed

Make an effort to get dressed every day before work. It will help you feel more motivated to work. When you stay in your pajamas all day, it tends to make you feel tired and lazy. So get dressed and make yourself look nice. You will find that your work production goes up as you will feel like you are ready for work. This will also be good for when you have those Zoom meetings. I saw this first hand in my husband. On the days that he gets dressed, he gets out of the house quicker and is happy to work. When my husband stays in the clothes that he slept in, he complains about working.

8. Make breakfast an important thing

Make an effort to eat a healthy breakfast before you sit down to work. Now that you are not leaving the house it is so simple to skip breakfast but don't as a healthy breakfast will help you be more productive. It will also help you from grabbing unhealthy snacks. We all know that once we start working, things can get busy and you won't have time to eat. So on the weekend meal prep some easy breakfast foods that you can heat up in the morning like these healthy chocolate protein pancakes or frozen fruit for adding to protein powder for smoothies. You can even premake breakfast burritos and freeze them to heat up in the microwave. I like to make these breakfast cookies as they store well in the fridge.

9. Eat plenty of fiber

Working from home can mess with your body and that can lead to problems in the bathroom. So make sure to include plenty of fiber in your meals like fruits and veggies. An easy way to increase your fiber intake is with a simple fiber supplement that you can stir into your coffee. When you select a tasteless fiber powder that dissolves in any liquid, you can make the going in the bathroom easy so you can get it done without a long bathroom break.

Use code MOMKNOBEST10 to save money on an amazing fiber supplement

10. Get plenty of sleep

Make sure you are placing importance on plenty of sleep. We all know that sleep is important to a healthy body and when we skimp on sleep, our work suffers. So force yourself to go to bed at night so you can get 6-8 hours of sleep. Turn off the devices and TV as those can interfere with your sleep. Check out these Twelve Tips To Get A Better Night Of Sleep

11. Quit work

I don't mean quit your job but rather stop working at the time you would if you were at the office. When you work at home, it is all too easy to keep working after work hours. It can be hard to separate work life from home life and that can make for a stressful day. All work and no play is not a good thing. If you don't make time for yourself and the kids you will start resenting work. You will not be a good employee for your job. Even though you are working from home, you are still getting paid from an employer, even if they are not in your home office. So that means also that you are only getting paid to work the 9-5. So unless you are earning overtime pay, stop working when your workday is done.

It Is A Tara Thing And My New Office

I love my new office!

I have had my new office for about a month and I am loving it. It was a great decision to convert our unused office into my new photo studio/blogger room. This room has made my house less cluttered and it has helped me be more efficient with my work. Having a clean space does wonders with my creativity. I just love sitting in this room and working. I originally bought the white table for a place to take pictures but I am also using the table as my desk. I just love having my morning coffee and looking out the window as I answer my emails.

The kids know that my new space is off limits to them. They are not allowed to play in there or bring their toys/clutter into my new room. When they whine about it being no fair, I just show them my new mug. My new personalized mug says it all!

I love that my new coffee mug has my name on it. It just makes me feel so special. When I was younger, my name was not common. I remember going to stores on vacations that sold items with names on them and never find a single personalized item with my name on it. I would spin the rack around at every store hoping this would be the store that had the pin, cup, or another item with my name on it. I never gave up, I checked every store on every vacation.

So when I discovered this store that put my name on a personalized coffee mug, I was thrilled, over the moon thrilled!  The wait was over and my name was finally on something! I love that my name is on a cute coffee mug. You can even buy this mug with your name on it! You can even get your name on a t-shirt or other items. My next mug will have my website name on it.

Do you have a unique name that is impossible to find on personalized items?

Pictures Of My New Blogger Photo Studio

I love my new workroom/photo studio!

My new workspace and photo studio is a room that I love. I wish I had remodeled this room years ago. This new room is making my blogging work so much easier and less messy. I no longer have the clutter and I am able to get my work done faster. Having everything that I need in one room makes it so much easier to take pictures. Even my teen has used my room to take some pictures.

I can close up the room!

Now when company comes over, I can shut the doors of my workspace so they can't see my mess. My husband says I should keep it clean all the time but I know that may not always happen, especially if I have some work in progress. Saturday is the day that I take all my photos for my articles and the products from companies can accumulate. So I love that I can close the doors and not see the mess of products waiting to be photographed.

So much storage!

My new room has plenty of storage in it for all the things that I need for taking photos. I can store all my dishes and other props in the storage unit. I also have a place to store products as they come in. Around the holidays when I am creating my holiday gift guides, the packages of toys and other Christmas gifts can pile up.

There is even a nice table for taking my pictures. I love that this table is lightweight and it is easy to move around the room. That makes it easy to get the most natural light for my pictures. The photo table is the perfect size for the room.

The photo table.

I love this simple table as it allows me to place different backdrops on it for photos. I can also leave the backdrops out on the table instead of rolling them up. No more having to flatten them. I can also place my photo screen behind the table for larger photos. When I want to do a Youtube video, the storage unit makes a nice clean background.

Reused some furniture!

I reused the older storage cube unit for the place to put all the products that I get from companies. I just open the box that gets delivered and place the stuff into a cube. Then it is easily found when I need to take pictures.

Love my new curtains!

I found these curtains at Target and just had to have them. The cactus on them is so pretty. My son says they would make a great backdrop for photos and I so agree. The curtains also help me adjust the light in the room.

This storage unit has 32 cubes!

I bought this unit at Ikea and it is so awesome for the organization. I am able to store things like dishes and other things that I need for pictures. I even shared some space with my husband for his things. I love that I was able to get cabinets and pull out drawers also at Ikea for the unit. This makes it easy to hide the clutter. I also bought plenty of totes for storage. So my photo room is also an office area for the printer items.

Love the open cubes!

The open cubes were fun to decorate with items that I use for my photos. I love that I can change the items around for holidays or different seasons. Since I am taking summer photos right now I decorated several with a summer theme. I also make a coffee theme as I am always in the mood for coffee. I have plenty of open cubes that I can stash all those cute items that I need for photo props. My favorite place to get photo props is at thrift stores and the dollar store.

Storage for my photo stands.

I can fold up my stand for my bigger photo backdrops here. This space is just the right size. These corners help hide the bigger items so they are not in the way.

Love all the storage!

Everything has a place in this storage unit. The best part is no one sees all the stuff. I love having all my photo stuff in one room. It makes it so easy to take photos and clean up afterward! These cabinets hold everything from dishes to silk flowers. It makes creating the photos so easy as I can glance at what I have and simply grab the perfect props for the cooking photos.

How This Blogger Updated An Office Into A New Photo Studio

A messy unused office became my new photo/work space!

It all started with my daughter asking me to host a baby shower for my new grandbaby. After I said, "of course!", it dawned on me that my house was too cluttered for me to invite 12 people over to celebrate the arrival of my daughter's first baby. I have been avoiding any kind of entertaining for quite some time as my blogging work had taken over most of the downstairs, leaving it quite messy. I was simply overwhelmed by the fact of cleaning up my dining room for a party. Even to the point that I was going to cancel a trip to a conference.

Taming the blogger clutter!

My dining room usually is clutter with my work stuff. At any given time, I can have 10-20 products that need my attention. Last year I accepted a storage cube organizer in hopes that it could help tame the clutter. It did for a while but the room did not stay clean for long.

An outdated office becomes super messy!

Then there was our outdated office that I used for my photos and props. This room also had a large desk with a very old desktop computer on it that had not been used since 2011! Does anyone use desktops anymore? The desk was being used as a place to hold paper clutter and office supplies we no longer needed.

Post #3 https://www.momknowsbest.net/2018/05/pictures-of-my-new-photo-studio.html

The transformation of a messy office to a photo studio!

My husband was making more money at his job so I asked him if we could turn the office into my workspace. He liked the idea as he later revealed to me that he was embarrassed to open the front door because of all my work clutter. So I went online for some Ikea inspiration and discovered for $50 I could get furniture delivered to my home! My husband was disappointed that there was no road trip to Ikea, sorry honey I don't want to be in the car for 8 hours. I found 16 cube storage unit that I like and Ikea had it priced quite well. So I bought two of those so it would fit across the whole wall. A trip to Lowes after our anniversary dinner gave us the inspiration for doors that the room needed. A good dinner always gets my husband in a shopping mood. Having doors on this room would allow me to close up the room when company came over.

Cleaning up the room was fun for the boys.

This desk had not been used since 2011 so there was a lot of paper clutter like tax papers, old bills, and receipts. It is amazing to think that my kids will never know about having to save all those papers in a file cabinet as everything now is stored online. This cleaning took a whole day and the big massive desk and desktop computer went to the curb. I am shocked that no one wanted them so I had to call the city to take them on trash day.

The room is ready!

The room was ready for the transformation. Now we just had to wait for Ikea to deliver our furniture. It took 2 weeks from the day I ordered for the delivery to be scheduled. Thank goodness the delivery was able to be scheduled on a Saturday so we would be home. This was Mothers day weekend and my son graduated on that Friday. So my mother's day present was everyone helping with building the storage unit and painting/hanging doors. I was worried that putting together the two storage units from Ikea would be a pain for my husband as the last time he put together a dresser he said: "I will not be putting together furniture again!"

The Process Of Turning An Office Into A New Photo Studio

My messy office is being transformed.

Our busy weekend started with a graduation and a track meet. My son graduated high school as the salutatorian of his class! He was almost the valedictorian as he had been number one in his class for 3 years. The girl who was the valedictorian retook a class last summer and had a .033 increase on my son as he had a 4.5-grade point and she had a 4.533-grade point. My son also ran state track the same day and received 6th place with a 4.28-mile time! I am so proud of this boy who is either headed off to the Merchant Marine Academy or the Naval Academy! My son is anxiously awaiting to hear from the Naval Academy.

The painting of the doors!

We purchased some pine folding doors at Lowes for the new room and decided to whitewash them with gray paint. I am glad my husband took over that job as he would not let me paint. The last time I painted, I think most of the paint ended up all over me. I don't have a process photo of the doors but will show the end result in the next post.

I reused the old storage cube system.

I decided to incorporate my old storage system into the new room. This smaller cube storage unit would be a great place for me to store products as they get delivered. That way they would be out of sight until I was able to take photos. My youngest son was excited to rebuild it for the new room.

My husband put together the Ikea storage system with no complaints.

My husband had no problems putting together the furniture from Ikea and said that Ikea is the only place that he will buy particle board furniture from. It was easy to put together the shelf unit as the pieces all came pre-drilled and the instructions were easy to follow. My husband also hung the new doors and moved the wall shelves up higher. The doors gave him some trouble as we did not account for the baseboards in the measurements. It took us all day to build everything but we did it!
