Whipped Dalgona Coffee Made With Instant Coffee

Dalgona coffee is a whipped, frothy iced coffee drink made with instant coffee, sugar, water, and milk. This drink is rich and creamy. You will love the sweet coffee flavor.

I may be a little late to the Dalgona whipped coffee trend, but I am so glad that I joined the party and made this incredible sweet coffee drink. This whipped coffee drink was so delicious, and even my husband enjoyed it. The coffee drink was easy to make and it left me saying, "Why did I wait so long to make this delightful cup of coffee?"

What is Dalgona Coffee?

Also known as "whipped coffee", "frothy coffee", or "fluffy coffee", Dalgona coffee has two distinct layers made from whipped coffee cream sitting on top of iced milk.

Dalgona coffee is a coffee drink that is made from instant coffee, sugar, water, and milk. Ok, that sounds like most cups of coffee but what makes this drink different is how it is made. It is the process of whipping together the instant coffee crystals with sugar and hot water that makes the creamy, like whipped cream, layers of sweet coffee that sit on top of cold milk. To most, it is the presentation of the drink that makes this drink so special. The fluffy coffee or frothy coffee layer just floats on top of the milk as it is so airy.

What does Dalgona coffee taste like?

To describe this delicious drink called Dalgona coffee, I would compare it to a fancy coffee shop drink like a Frappuccino but not as thick. So maybe it is like a thick, cold coffee latte. Think of the creamy top part of the whipped coffee as a scoop of coffee-flavored whipped cream and the bottom layer as ice-cold milk. When you blend the two layers together, you get a sweet creamy coffee drink.

How did this Dalgona coffee craze get started?

The viral Dalgona coffee trend that had everyone on Facebook and TikTok showing off their whipped coffee drinks did not start in the United States. This do-it-yourself coffee drink started in South Korea at the beginning of 2020 after Jung Il-woo,  a South Korean actor, ordered a whipped coffee at an eatery in Macau and he likened the taste to that of Dalgona, a type of Korean candy

This got folks in South Korea stuck at home making this whipped coffee since they could not get their favorite coffee drinks at local coffee houses. Since these people had plenty of time on their hands, they shared short video tutorials on how to make Dalgona coffee on TikTok and Instagram using the hashtags #dalgonacoffee. The whipped coffee trend hit the internet in the US in March, just as folks were following social distancing rules.

Why is it called Dalgona coffee?

Dalgona coffee gets its name from Dalgona, a spongy South Korean coffee candy. The candy has a light caramel-colored bubbly texture, which looks like the coffee foam of the Dalgona whipped coffee. This sweet candy has a toffee flavor or caramel flavor. This sweet Dalgona candy is a popular treat in Korea.

Ingredients needed to make Dalgona Coffee

~ Instant coffee ~ My favorite instant coffee

~ Sugar, granulated, works best

~ Hot water

~ Ice

~ Milk or  plant-based milk

~ A whisk, electric mixer, or stand mixer

How to make Dalgona coffee

Making whipped coffee is quite simple. All you need to do is combine the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in a bowl. Then whip the ingredients together until they are light in color and resemble whipped cream texture. There are several ways to whip up the ingredients. You can use a whisk, an electric mixer, or a stand mixer. I recommend placing the ingredients in a small bowl and mixing them first with a spoon so the coffee and sugar dissolve together in the hot water.

Since the process of whipping the ingredients can take 5-7 minutes, I recommend using the stand mixer or electric mixer. The ingredients will start out thin and dark like a cup of coffee but will gradually start to get thicker and lighter. The whipped coffee mixture is done once it looks like a light brown whipped topping.

Then you fill a glass with cold milk, some people like to add ice cubes, and use a rubber spatula to spoon half or more of the whipped coffee mixture onto the cold milk. This recipe will make one to two drinks. It will look so pretty.

How to drink the whipped coffee drink

Drinking the whipped coffee drink is a matter of preference. If you like your coffee strong, then drink this coffee as is. The coffee whipped topping has a strong coffee taste and is bitter. If strong coffee is not your thing, then stir the whipped coffee into the glass of milk for a delightful coffee and milk drink.

Dalgona whipped coffee tips and questions

Can I use ground coffee or brewed coffee? ~ This recipe will not work with ground coffee or brewed coffee. It only works with instant coffee crystals or powder.

Can I use plant-based milk? ~ You can use any type of milk that you like, and that includes plant-based milk like almond milk. The secret to this recipe is in the whipped coffee layer, and this layer will blend in nicely with any milk. I used unsweetened almond milk for my drink, and as you can see in the photos, it looks perfect.

Can I use cold water? ~  Cold water will not work as the hot water helps dissolve both the instant coffee and the sugar more quickly, helping it whip up into its foamy state. I boiled my water in a tea kettle, but you can use a microwave.

Can I use other types of sugar? ~ Granular sugar works best, but I have heard that other people had good results with brown sugar, coconut sugar, and monk fruit. These types of sugar may not produce a light and fluffy coffee whip.

Can I store this in the fridge for later? ~ While you can save any leftover whipped coffee in the fridge for later, it will return to its liquid state and will have to be whipped again. So I don't recommend this.

How much does this recipe make? ~ This recipe uses instant coffee, which equals two cups of coffee, so if you like a strong coffee taste, use all of the coffee cream on a glass of milk. If you like a milder taste of coffee, use half of the coffee topping.

Dalgona Whipped Coffee

Yield ~ 1 serving

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons instant coffee granules

2 Tablespoons granulated sugar

2 Tablespoons hot boiling water

½ cup ice

1 cup milk or plant-based milk of your choice

Instructions

In a small bowl or the stand mixer bowl, use the whisk attachment to combine the coffee, sugar, and hot water.

Immediately whisk on medium-high speed until light, airy, and doubled in volume, about 4-5 minutes.

If using a handheld whisk,  quickly whisk the ingredients together. This may take 5-7 minutes.

If using an electric mixer, combine on medium-high speed for 4-5 minutes.

Serve immediately. Pour the milk over the ice in a tall glass. Use a rubber spatula to place the coffee cream over the milk. To enjoy the drink, lightly mix the coffee cream with the cold milk.

How To Make Iced Vietnamese Coffee With The Pour Over Method

Vietnamese iced coffee is a traditional Vietnamese coffee recipe. Vietnamese coffee is an intensely strong and sweet coffee that can be served hot or over ice.

Vietnamese coffee is typically brewed with a Phin Filter, an aluminum filter that sits on top of a cup and drips the coffee directly into that cup. Brewing Vietnamese coffee is similar to the pour-over coffee method. I have never experienced the taste of Vietnamese coffee and after watching a how-to make Vietnamese coffee tutorial, I knew that I had to add this strong and sweet coffee to my coffee experience.

I love coffee and drink coffee on a daily basis. My day is not complete without several cups of coffee. While I do not start my day with coffee, I can not write my articles unless I have a cup of java nearby. I always start my day with morning exercise to wake the body up. Then make a protein smoothie for my breakfast. While my smoothie is blending, I make my coffee using the pour-over method. My protein smoothie helps my muscles recover and my coffee helps my brain wake up. For me, the act of drinking coffee is how I get my mind to work. Coffee is a healthy drink for the mind.

How To Make Iced Vietnamese Coffee With The Pour Over Method

It was three bags of Vietnamese coffee that inspired me to make Vietnamese coffee. I received the Dark Roast Coffee Trio from Nguyen Coffee Supply. Once I opened up the package that contained the 3 bags of whole bean coffee, I knew that this was not your typical coffee. The intense smell of the coffee beans could be smelled through the coffee bag. As I was savoring the coffee aroma, I read the coffee notes of the Robusta coffee beans from Vietnam. These bold roast coffee beans had some strange coffee-tasting notes.

SAIGON ~ Salted Cacao, Blackberry, Hazelnut

HANOI ~ Tabacco, Prunes, Graham Cracker

DALAT ~ Jasmine, Ganache, Strawberry

I was thinking how could these coffee beans from Nguyen smell so good with such strange tasting notes. I simply could not wait to taste the Robusta beans. These Vietnamese coffee beans needed to be made with the traditional Vietnamese coffee recipe. The only problem was, that I did not have a Phin Filter. So I decided to brew the coffee beans with my pour-over device as that coffee method is similar.

Did You Know?

+ Vietnam is the 2nd largest coffee producer in the world

+ Robusta beans have nearly 2x more caffeine than arabica beans

+ Robusta beans have 60% less sugar & fats than arabica beans

+ Nguyen Coffee Supply was founded by a 1st generation Vietnamese woman

So I gathered my coffee supplies and the ingredients that I needed to make Iced Vietnamese coffee. Unlike your typical coffee drink, Iced Vietnamese coffee uses not-so-common coffee ingredients. This sweet bold coffee drink uses sweetened condensed milk in place of milk and sugar.

Since I have a dairy allergy, I could not grab a can of condensed milk from the store shelf. So I set out to make homemade Sweetened Condensed Almond Milk. Sure, I could have bought a can of condensed coconut milk from the store but I wanted to use my new Nutr Nut Milk Maker to make fresh almond milk.

How to brew Vietnamese With The Pour Over Method

Since I did not have the traditional Vietnamese Phin Filter, I placed my stainless steel pour-over coffee filter over a borosilicate glass carafe. Then I used my coffee grinder to grind the coffee beans. Once the coffee beans were a grind for the pour-over coffee brew method, I measured them with my coffee scale. Traditional Vietnamese coffee is a strong brew and the ratio is 1 to 2. So 6 tablespoons of coffee to 12 ounces of water.

I then used my gooseneck coffee kettle to make hot water. Once the water was at the perfect temperature for brewing coffee, I slowly poured a small amount of hot water onto the ground coffee, just enough to get the coffee grounds wet  ~ Wait 30 seconds before adding the rest of the hot water. This will allow the coffee grounds to best absorb the water and swell up. It is the swelling-up par or soaking of the coffee grounds,  that gets the coffee grounds to release more coffee flavor. I described the pour-over coffee method in my Dairy-Free Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte recipe post.

Once I finished brewing the coffee, I then filled my glass halfway with the hot coffee concentrate. I then stirred in 2 tablespoons of the Sweetened Condensed Almond Milk ~get the recipe here. Once the plant-based condensed milk was thoroughly mixed into the coffee, I added enough ice cubes to fill the glass. If you like your coffee stronger use more of the coffee concentrate.

Make this Iced Vietnamese Coffee a healthy breakfast by stirring in a scoop or two of vegan protein powder into the hot coffee.

How To Make Perfect Iced Coffee

Dairy Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte

Bulletproof coffee is a refreshing and healthy coffee drink, made with coffee, oil, and butter. Discover a dairy-free bulletproof coffee recipe that is perfect for summer and does not require butter.

The weather is warming up, and the thought of hot coffee does not appeal to some people. Hot coffee in the morning when it is over 80 degrees outside just does not taste the same or have the same appeal as a cup of warm coffee on a cold winter day. Hot coffee tends to warm the body up, so when the temperature goes up, I want a drink that will refresh my body. Once I start wearing shorts, I am ready to ditch my hot pour-over brewed coffee for a cup of cold-brew coffee poured over ice.

Summertime means cold-brew coffee, iced coffee, and Dairy Free Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Lattes.  Cold coffee takes on a whole new meaning in the summer. While cold coffee is not rejoiced for in the winter, in the summer, a glass of cold coffee is my new coffee method. Iced coffee just tastes better on a hot summer day.

Iced Coffee is more than hot coffee over ice cubes

The method for iced coffee is not just pouring hot coffee over ice cubes; it is so much more. I even have a recipe for the perfect iced coffee that I make in the summer. I love my coffee and pretty much drink it year-round. I love to be creative with my daily cups of coffee, and I seek out new coffee recipes. My latest favorite coffee recipe is bulletproof coffee, and I have discovered a way to enjoy bulletproof coffee as a cold, refreshing coffee drink. I am loving this Dairy-Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte while loving the warm weather.

What is Bulletproof Coffee?

Bulletproof coffee is a buttery coffee drink that is enjoyed by people on the keto diet. Dave Asprey, the founder of Bulletproof Nutrition, created the recipe for keto coffee in 2013. He posted the recipe on his website, and everyone went crazy for it!

Just like the craze of 2020 for Dalgona coffee, Bulletproof coffee was a coffee recipe that everyone had to try. Being that the Bulletproof coffee recipe had grass-fed butter in it, I have not tried this coffee drink since I have a dairy allergy.

Bulletproof coffee is made with coffee, grass-fed butter, and either coconut oil or medium-chain triglyceride MCT oil.

Then I received a bottle of organic MCT oil from Viva Naturals, and when I read the bottle, it said MCT oil is perfect in coffee. So I added a tablespoon of MCT oil to my cup of coffee, and I was amazed at the creamy taste that it gave to my coffee.

So I went searching online for coffee recipes that use MCT oil, and I discovered a dairy-free bulletproof coffee recipe. I had to try this coffee recipe with my new coffee scale, and I am glad that I did. The dairy-free bulletproof coffee was delicious.

How to make an iced bulletproof coffee latte that is dairy-free

It is hot where I live, and I traded my cup of hot coffee for a glass of iced coffee. I decided to make the dairy-free bulletproof coffee recipe into a Dairy-Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte. With some small changes in my coffee recipe, it was simple to take this coffee from hot to cold. A few steps were all it took to make a butterless iced bulletproof coffee latte.

From blending the MCT oil into fresh-brewed coffee to stirring in plant-based milk and adding ice cubes, this coffee recipe is so easy to make. You can brew your coffee with any coffee method, but I highly recommend the pour-over coffee method for the best coffee flavor. The pour-over coffee brewing method is my preferred coffee brewing method. I find that it gives the best taste for coffee.

Raw Honey for Rooibos - Made from the nectar of the Japanese Knotweed, this honey has a rich, dark palette. Very earthy and complex.

Raw Honey for Garden Herbals - Using nectar from the blueberry plant, this honey is reminiscent of Clover honey in texture and basic taste but has a more complex herbal palette.

Matcha Whipped Honey -  Honey whipped it up with matcha powder.

How can MCT Oil be healthy in coffee?

I bet you are wondering why I add MCT Oil to my coffee. MCT Oil contains fat, but it is a healthy fat and can be good for energy and cognitive enhancement. MCT oil is a plant-based saturated fat oil made up of medium-chain triglycerides. This type of fat is absorbed quickly by the body so it can be used for energy instead of being stored as fat. People on the Keto plan use MCT Oil for improved focus and energy. So this coffee can be great before exercise or before work.

I like the MCT Oil and coconut oil in my coffee, as it adds a creamy texture like coffee creamer. The difference is that coconut oil is healthier and dairy-free. The Dairy-Free Iced Bulletproof Coffee Latte is better for your health when compared to those cold coffee drinks at the Star coffee shop.

How To Make The Perfect Cup Of Coffee Using a Coffee Scale

Looking for the perfect cup of coffee? Learn how a coffee scale can enhance your coffee brewing method and give you a great-tasting cup of coffee.

So many people say the reason that they get their daily cup of coffee at a coffee shop is that the coffee tastes better than making coffee at home. Then there are the folks who say that they don't have time to make coffee at home. While making coffee at home can be simple as placing coffee grounds into a coffee maker, how you make your coffee can make all the difference in the way it tastes. There are so many different coffee brewing methods and each method can give that cup of joe a different taste.

The typical way to make coffee at home is with a drip coffee maker. Other coffee-making methods can include single-cup coffee makers, espresso machines, cold brew coffee, and the pour-over coffee method to name a few. Then there are single-serve coffee bags and the French Press. The list can go on with many other ways to make coffee. So many ways to make coffee and yet so many people still head to the coffee shop for their daily coffee. That coffee drink from the coffee place may taste the best and it may have nothing to do with the coffee beans.

A delicious cup of coffee is all about measurements

Making coffee that tastes good is all about measurements. Like baking, making coffee requires math and science. While you don't need to read a recipe from a cookbook to make coffee. You do have to measure the coffee and use the right amount of water. When it comes to good coffee, finding the right ratio of ground coffee to water is essential. Making good coffee is science.

Do you ever have days when your at-home coffee doesn't taste the same and sometimes tastes bitter? You used the same bag of coffee and the same coffee scoop. You added the same amount of sugar and creamer to your coffee cup. Yet your morning cup of coffee has a different taste, maybe even a nasty taste. The reason for the difference in taste may be due to how you measured the coffee grounds. A good cup of coffee requires the coffee to be weighed and that might be the reason that coffee tastes better from a restaurant. A simple coffee scale may help you up your coffee-making skills.

How To Make The Perfect Cup Of Coffee Using a Coffee Scale

When it comes to perfecting good coffee, finding the right ratio of ground coffee to water is essential. When you follow the typical coffee-making instructions that are found on the coffee canister, those ratios will not result in the best cup of coffee. The reason is because not all coffee weighs the same. One tablespoon of one brand of coffee may weigh more than another brand of coffee. It is those different coffee measurements that affect the taste of your coffee.

To get a great-tasting coffee you need to weigh your coffee grounds and not use a coffee scoop. A coffee scale will help you measure your coffee so that you will have the right amount of coffee for your coffee brewing method. You might be asking yourself, what is a coffee scale?

Coffee beans, since they’re an agricultural product and not made in a factory, can vary wildly in size and density.

What is a coffee scale?

Until last week, I had no idea what a coffee scale was. When a brand reached out to me asking me if I wanted to check out their coffee scale, I thought to myself ~ what is a coffee scale? When I realized that a coffee scale is a device that helps you make a great cup of coffee, I had to know more. I do love my daily coffee and having my coffee taste great is something that I desire. A coffee scale will help you get the measurements right.

A coffee scale allows you to use the same amount of water and the same amount of coffee for every brew. It is using the same measurements that are important in how your coffee tastes. These precise measurements will give you the same coffee flavor day after day.

Lardera's new coffee scale measures your brew time without manual input. It automatically starts when you add water and stops when you lift the carafe. The scale is sleek in appearance and rich in features, like the unique auto-timer.

How to use a coffee scale

The first step to making a great cup of coffee with a coffee scale is to use a pour-over coffee maker. The pour-over coffee making method involves pouring hot water through coffee grounds in a filter. That pour-over coffee filter is placed over a coffee carafe or a coffee cup. I described the pour-over coffee method in my Dairy-Free Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte recipe post.

The next steps involve weighing the coffee carafe and the coffee. Then you pour the water over the coffee grounds. The scale will time the water and tell you how long it took. Once you are done brewing your coffee, you taste it. If you like the way it tastes then allow the scale to record the data. So that way when you make your next cup of coffee you will have the exact same measurements for the same great taste.

How much coffee should I use for the perfect cup of coffee?

Since I have never used a coffee scale, I had to do some research on how much ground coffee to add to my coffee filter along with how much water to use. I discovered a coffee recipe for an average size cup of coffee ~ 10 ounces. If you desire a bigger cup of coffee, just double the amount of coffee and water.

~  A good coffee to water ratio for a 10-ounce cup of coffee is 20 grams ground coffee to 300ml of water. If you are using coffee beans, measure the coffee beans before grinding the coffee.

~ If you prefer your coffee stronger ~ use more ground coffee

~ If you like your coffee on the mild side ~ use fewer coffee grounds

My thoughts on using a coffee scale

The first time that I used a coffee scale was a learning experience for me. I liked that the coffee scale was easy to understand. Since I have experience using kitchen scales, that made things a bit easier. I liked that this scale had a tare feature so I could set the scale back to zero after I place my coffee equipment on the scale. That way the weight of my coffee mug and pour-over filter was not in the measurement for the coffee.

I had to do some research online before I made my first cup of coffee. So I knew the right amount of water and ground coffee to use. I boiled my water first and then I measured it into a measuring cup. I wanted to make sure I did everything right. While it did take time to make my first cup of coffee, using the coffee scale, it was so worth it!

My cup of coffee was delicious. For my next cup of coffee, I did things differently to make it easier. I used a mason jar as my coffee brewing container.  That way I did not have to measure the water. I simply poured the hot water over the coffee until it reached the 20-ounce mark on the glass mason jar. Since my coffee from the day before was so smooth and delicious, I also used the same amount of ground coffee. This coffee scale is my new favorite coffee equipment for making great-tasting coffee.

Using a coffee scale helped me to discover my perfect coffee brew.

This creamy coffee drink is a delicious way to get fiber into your diet. It is simple to make with just three ingredients. Served cold, this iced coffee is a perfect summer drink.

There is something about a cup of warm coffee. It is soothing and coffee just tastes better warm, especially on a cold day. That all changes when the summer is here and the temperatures are above 80 degrees. Then my daily coffee changes to a cold refreshing iced coffee. When it is hot out, the last thing that I want is something that is going to raise my body temperature.

So I will make cold brew coffee and keep a pitcher in the fridge. Then there are the days that I forgot to brew my coffee the day before. So I will boil a pot of water and make a couple cups of coffee using the pour-over coffee method. Then I will add ice to the coffee and my favorite plant-based milk along with sweetener. Thus creating iced coffee. If I don't have ice, I make my coffee early in the morning and stick it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Making iced coffee is quite simple but if you need some help, make sure to check out this recipe for the perfect iced coffee. This coffee article has 5 delicious recipes for iced coffee with many different flavors like mocha. Coffee is a drink that can be made in so many different ways. I recently discovered a way to make my favorite morning drink into one that is high in fiber. So keep reading to discover a recipe for a high-fiber coffee drink that is perfect for summer.

Creamy High Fiber Iced Coffee Latte Is:

+ Refreshing

+ Delicious

+ High in Fiber

+ Low Sugar

+ Sweet

+ Creamy

+ Plant-Based

+ Vegan

+ Gluten-Free

+ Dairy-Free

+ Smooth

I know what you are thinking. This coffee drink must be thick as it has fiber in it. Nope, this delicious coffee drink is not thick but it is smooth and creamy. It tastes just like a coffee latte from a coffee shop. You can't even taste the fiber but your body will benefit from the fiber in your coffee. The secret is in the syrup that I use in the coffee recipe. I use a wonderful syrup and honey alternative called Sukrin Syrup Gold. This syrup alternative is low on calories and high in fiber.

Sukrin Syrup Gold is also completely gluten-free. The low sugar content makes Sukrin Syrup Gold very gentle on your blood sugar, and additionally, the syrup is both tooth-friendly and prebiotic. Per generous serving of 2 tablespoons, the Sukrin Syrup Gold boasts these specs:

+ Less than 1g of sugar

+ 20g of dietary fiber

+ 6g of sugar alcohol (erythritol)

+ 2 net carbs

Sukrin also makes other healthy products that are great for people who follow special diets or just want to add more healthy foods to their diet. All of our products are natural, unprocessed, and good for you. I am excited to try their gluten-free bread mixes and bake with their sugar alternatives.

The best coffee drink starts with single-origin organic coffee

I drink coffee for the taste and the health benefits. I am not an "I need my caffeine fix coffee person." So I always buy high-quality coffee and it is my healthy indulgent treat. I want my coffee to have a good taste and I can taste the difference in my coffee when I use single-origin coffee. While my favorite daily coffee is Columbian coffee, I love discovering coffee from other countries.

I recently discovered fresh organic coffee beans from Nicaragua from a company called Nora's Naturals. This coffee has taste notes of dark chocolate, orange twist, and jam. The coffee beans are grown in volcanic soil, on the Nicaraguan National Forest Reserve, which makes the coffee antioxidant-rich. This coffee also contains high amounts of immune-strengthening polyphenols and skin hydrating minerals that increase collagen. So my morning coffee just got healthier.

When the package of Nora's Naturals coffee arrived in the mail, my husband just had to smell the coffee. My husband loves the smell of fresh coffee beans. When my husband tried smelling the coffee through the package, he did not detect any coffee aroma as the coffee package was tightly sealed. Once I opened the coffee bag, we enjoyed the pleasant aroma of coffee. I was glad that a coffee clip came with the coffee beans, so I could keep the coffee beans fresh.

Coffee plus fiber equals a happy digestive system

This Creamy high-fiber ice coffee latte will help you have a happy digestive system. The added fiber will also help decrease your appetite. If you make your glass of iced coffee with Nora's Naturals coffee you will get additional health benefits of immune-strengthening and a collagen boost. I used plant-based coconut milk in my recipe but you can use your favorite milk like almond or oat milk. Check out this recipe for simple homemade oat milk.

This was a coffee latte that I knew I could make at home without even trying the popular coffee drink.

While I like visiting coffee shops for my coffee fix, my dairy allergy makes it hard. I have to keep a careful eye on the coffee barista who is making my coffee order so they don't accidentally add milk to my coffee drink. I have had a couple of bad experiences with my coffee drinks from coffee shops in the past that have resulted in me feeling sick to my stomach for hours and experiencing an asthma attack. My food allergy symptoms usually set in 1 to 2 hours after I eat any dairy products.

No long line with this fall coffee drink

Other reasons to make your own coffee at home are you save money and there is no long line in your kitchen. So you will save time when you make your coffee at home. I know that people say that coffee shop coffee tastes better but I so disagree. Brewing coffee at home tastes so much better to me. Once you learn how to brew the best coffee, you will start making your coffee drinks at home. You don't even need a fancy coffee maker to make delicious coffee at home, especially when you make cold-brew coffee.

The most important supply that you need to make a great cup of coffee at home is quality coffee beans. Don't go cheap on your coffee. It may seem that the best-tasting coffee may seem over-priced but that bag of coffee beans will pay for itself after making 3 cups of coffee. A 12-ounce bag of quality coffee may be priced between $10 -15 dollars but it will make 16 -22 cups of coffee. That fancy coffee you buy at the coffee shop runs $5 - 7 dollars a drink, so do the math.

I am a coffee snob when it comes to buying my coffee beans. Quality coffee is on a coffee lover's must-have list of products. I also like purchasing coffee beans from around the world. I also like supporting businesses that give back to the community. My latest find in quality coffee beans is from Fire Department Coffee. Their Honduran Coffee beans make a great cup of coffee. These rich coffee beans from Central America have a smooth tint and slight sweetness.

Ingredients needed for  Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte

+ Coffee beans or ground coffee

+ Brown sugar

+ Oat Milk ~ See my recipe for homemade oat milk

+ Ice cubes

Three ingredients, four if you include the ice, are all you need to make this delicious summer coffee drink. The original Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee espresso drink that I discovered uses a brown sugar syrup that you can make at home but that is too time-consuming in my opinion. The copycat coffee recipe from Starbucks also uses shots of espresso and that requires one to have an espresso maker. So my recipe for an Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte is easy to make. The recipe uses a strong cup of hot brewed coffee, brown sugar, and oat milk. It is that simple!

While you can use other plant-based milks, I recommend buying oat milk as it is creamier and adds great flavor. Oat milk is a creamy, delicious, plant-based milk that is perfect for the best dairy-free cup of coffee.

How to Make Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte

Making the Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte is super easy and there is no need for fancy shaking or coffee equipment. If you can brew a cup of coffee, then you can make this dairy-free coffee drink. If you have a coffee maker, all you have to do is increase the amount of ground coffee to make the coffee richer and bolder or decrease the amount of water needed. Since you will be adding hot coffee to the oat milk, you will want stronger coffee.

If you don't have a coffee maker, I recommend buying a pour-over coffee cone. I prefer to make my coffee with the pour-over coffee method as it results in a better-tasting cup of coffee that has no bitterness. If you can boil water, you can make coffee with the pour-over coffee cone. You simply place a paper coffee filter in the pour-over cone and add the ground coffee. Then you pour the boiling water over the ground coffee to brew the coffee. The ideal temperature is 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit. I use a gooseneck water kettle that has a thermometer in it so my hot water is always at the perfect temperature.

Once you brew the coffee, you add the brown sugar to the hot coffee. The heat will dissolve the brown sugar, so no need to make fancy coffee syrup. Then let the coffee cool down by placing it in the fridge for about 30 minutes. You can make this coffee mixture the night before to save time. Then add the oat milk to a glass with ice and pour in the coffee. Stir the drink and enjoy!

Make this drink warm

Looking for a warm Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte? Then skip the fridge and add the oat milk to the coffee while it is still warm. Simply brew the coffee and stir in the brown sugar until it dissolves. Then add the oat milk and you have a delicious warm fall latte.

Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Coffee Latte is a creamy iced drink made with brown sugar, coffee, and oat milk.
