Easy Two Ingredient Soft Pretzel Recipe

These soft-baked pretzels are so easy to make and you only need two ingredients. They bake up so soft in the air fryer or the oven.

Have you ever made soft-baked pretzels before? They can be a pain in the rear to make. With the dough rising and having to soak the pretzels in a soda bath, it can take all day to make those pretzels. So when I discovered an easier way/recipe to make soft-baked pretzels, I just had to make them.

I am so glad that I tried the recipe. My family loved the soft-baked pretzels that I made from only two ingredients! I also made my pretzels in my air fryer but don't worry you can make these in the oven too. This recipe is incredible and the pretzels bake up so soft and taste so delicious.

Two Ingredient Soft Pretzel Are
~ Delicious
~ Easy to Make
~ Fun to make with Kids
~ Soft and Chewy
~ Made with Two Ingredients
~ Can be made in the Air Fryer

You need only two ingredients!

The two ingredients that you need for these soft and chewy pretzels are self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. I always have yogurt in the house as my boys eat tons of it. Did you know that you can make your own yogurt with an electric blanket? That is how I make my yogurt and I also make Greek yogurt. Check out my links for the recipes. You can also buy Greek yogurt at the store. Don't worry if you don't have self-rising flour as you can easily make some with 2 teaspoons baking powder and 3/4 teaspoon salt per one cup of flour.

Ingredients Need For The Pretzels
~ Greek Yogurt
~ Self Rising Flour

Check out this recipe for homemade yogurt made with an electric blanket!

Greek yogurt is loaded with protein so these pretzels have lots of protein!

These pretzels are super easy to make!

You simply combine the flour and Greek yogurt in a bowl. Then you knead it a bit and form them into pretzels. You can also make other shapes if you like. Then you bake for 12 minutes in the air fryer or about 25 minutes in the oven. It is that simple! A warm fresh chewy soft pretzel in about 30 minutes is awesome to me. No need to head to the mall to buy a pretzel. These pretzels are way more flavorful.

If you love pretzels, then you need to make a loaf of soft chewy pretzel bread. This bread is so delicious and tastes just like a soft pretzel. The bread even looks like a pretzel and is great for making sandwiches. You can even make this bread in a bread machine. Get the soft chewy pretzel bread recipe here!

Easy Two Ingredient Soft Pretzel Recipe

 Ingredients
1 cup self-rising purpose flour*
1 cup Greek yogurt (not regular yogurt, it will be too sticky)
1 egg white, beaten ~ optional for a shiny texture
kosher salt

Directions:
Oven temperature ~ see different cooking methods below

   1. In a medium bowl combine the flour and yogurt, mix with a fork or spatula until well combined (it will look like small crumbles).
2. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until the dough is no longer sticky. Add more flour if needed.
3. Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll each into a ball. Then roll the ball into a 3/4 inch rope and form that into a pretzel shape.
4. Lightly brush the egg white onto the dough and sprinkle kosher salt on top of the pretzels.
5. Bake the dough in a preheated air fryer or oven.

Two Cooking Methods:

Air Fryer Method
Preheat the air fryer to 325F degrees for 12 minutes. Spray the air fryer pan with non-stick pan spray. Place 1-2 pretzels at a time in the pan so they are not touching each other. Cook for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting.

Oven Method
Preheat oven to 375F. Place parchment paper or a Silpat on a baking sheet. Place the dough on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before cutting.

*If you don't have self-rising flour, just combine 1 cup of flour with 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 3/4 teaspoon salt.

You can also make bagels with this dough!

I made some delicious everything bagels with this dough and they were awesome. They tasted like real bagels. I even topped my bagels with a homemade everything bagel spice that was so tasty. I use this spice on everything from eggs to vegetables. I just love this spice on avocado toast! I love this Everything Spice on avocado toast!

I am a big fan of avocado toast. A slice of toasted bread with some avocado slices and a soft-baked over-easy egg that had a gooey yellow center. The best part of avocado toast, after the drippy yellow egg yolk, is the seasoning. I love sprinkling homemade everything bagel spice on my avocado toast. Sure you could buy premade everything spice but why as it is so easy to make and way cheaper! I love using the 2 ingredient bagel or pretzels for avocado toast.

Oven Air Frying Vegetables With Basquettes

This air fryer vegetable recipe takes ordinary vegetables to a whole new level of deliciousness. Even the pickiest person will love these sweet roasted vegetables.

Veggies in the air fryer are so simple to make. It is as simple as cutting the vegetables into pieces and tossing them in your favorite oil. Virtually any vegetable can be roasted in the air fryer. My favorite vegetables to cook in the air fryer are broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. I have even roasted tomatoes in the air fryer. Other great veggies that can be cooked in the air fryer are zucchini, asparagus, eggplant, and even onions.

So gather your favorite vegetables and learn how to cook vegetables in the air fryer.

You may be wondering why cooking vegetables in the air fryer is my preferred cooking method. Air fryer veggies are loaded with intense sweet caramelized flavor. The air fryer turns plain bland veggies into morsels of deliciousness. The air-fryer vegetable method will turn the pickiest eater into a lover of vegetables. My husband used to not like to eat vegetables but once he tasted vegetables cooked in the air fryer, he now loves eating veggies.

I love air-fried vegetables

+ They’re quick to prep

+ Easy to cook

+ Uses less oil than oven-roasted vegetables

+ They caramelize better

+ Air-fried vegetables take about half the time as oven veggies.

Air fryer vegetables are simply the best way to cook vegetables. The only negative thing about cooking vegetables in the air fryer is the small number of veggies that one can cook at a time. Even the largest air fryer can only hold so many veggies. So when I want to cook more veggies, I then roast veggies in the oven. The air fryer is too small for my Roasted Rainbow Brussels Sprouts recipe.

Turn your oven into a high-capacity air-fryer

Your oven just became a high-capacity air-fryer with Basquettes! No longer do you have to cook multiple batches of food in your small air fryer as the revolutionary Basquettes baskets can air fry vegetables in your oven. No longer do you have to have a bulky air fryer machine to air fry your favorite foods. The wire baskets from Basquettes hold plenty of veggies to feed the whole family and more.

From the oven to the grill ~ do it all with just one tool ~ Basquettes – The Everything Basket

Basquettes eliminate the need for multiple single-use, space-hogging gadgets. This unique cooking device is the Swiss army knife of oven and grill tools. Basquettes can be used both in the oven and on the grill to air-fry, roast, crisp, rotisserie, dehydrate, grill, and smoke. So it is perfect for air fryer veggies and more.

The idea for Basquettes came when a mother-daughter team first saw a bulky air-fryer with a tiny cooking basket. They decided to develop a heat-efficient, heat-conducting basket that would work in a conventional or convection oven, so you wouldn’t need a huge air-fryer taking up precious counter space. However, after building dozens of prototypes, this multi-functional kitchen and grill tool – also known as The Everything Basket – now replaces not one but eight single-use, counter-hogging gadgets.

When I first discovered Basquettes everything baskets, I knew that this unique cooking tool would be great for roasting vegetables in the oven and dehydrating vegetables. I could have used the Basquettes baskets last year when I made homemade beet powder and beet chips from the surplus of fresh beets that I got from my church food pantry.

Roasted Roma Tomatoes Made In The Air Fryer

Looking for a delicious side dish for your next meal? These air fryer roasted tomatoes are incredibly sweet and full of flavor. These roasted tomatoes are so easy to make and the best way to cook tomatoes. This is a great garden recipe.

When life hands you a huge amount of tomatoes, one has to get creative. This past spring I planted a garden for the first time in 20 years. Living in the desert has always been my reason to not try planting a garden as the lack of rain and sandy soil makes growing things difficult. The only thing that seems to grow in my backyard is weeds. I do have some other plants but they are drought-resistant plants that require no water or care whatsoever.

The virus pandemic made me garden

If someone had told me a year ago that I would start a garden, I would have laughed at them. I am the person who has killed a cactus. I really don't know what got a hold of me when I decided to grow tomatoes and other veggies. Maybe it was my way of coping with having to quarantine from the Covid lung virus or maybe it was seeing my friends on Facebook starting a garden. Maybe it was not being able to go to the grocery store to buy fresh vegetables. Maybe it was because I had time on my hands. Whatever the reason that motivated me to grow my own food, is a thing of the past, as I have caught the gardening bug and I am proud to say that I am growing veggies. My garden is producing kale, beets, spinach, and tomatoes. While I don't have a huge amount of produce, I have enough to enjoy some fresh veggies every day.

When life hands you lots of tomatoes

When your garden produces a huge amount of tomatoes and you need recipes for unique ways to cook tomatoes. Then you need to check out this recipe for oven-roasted sun-dried tomatoes. Oven-roasted tomatoes are so sweet and they are the best way to preserve garden-fresh tomatoes. Sun-dried tomatoes are perfect on pasta, pizza, and Rosemary and Caramelized Onion Sun-Dried Tomato Focaccia.

My tomato plants only gave me about 10 tomatoes so my dream of filling my freezer with dried tomatoes for recipes did not happen. God had other plans and I am glad that His plans were my husband's surprise of 20 pounds of fresh Roma tomatoes that were leftover from the church food pantry.

While I was busy drying the tomatoes in the oven, I decided to cook some of the tomato slices in the air fryer. I really was not sure if the air fryer could sun-dry the tomatoes like the oven as I was looking for a faster way to roast my tomatoes. I gave the air fryer a chance at cooking my fresh tomatoes and I am glad that I did. The end result of cooking tomatoes in the air fryer was a tomato that was packed with flavor. The tomatoes ended up being incredibly succulent and delicious. They were so sweet and juicy.

You have to try my recipe for Roasted Roma Tomatoes Made In The Air Fryer. The air fryer perfectly roasts the tomatoes into delicious sweet and savory delicious gems. These will not disappoint you.

Air fryer roasted tomatoes are delicious all on their own but they are also perfect for so many dishes that you would add tomatoes to. These succulent roasted tomatoes would be perfect on a salad or a pasta dish. They would make an amazing tomato bruschetta appetizer. I love adding roasted tomatoes to a slice of homemade 60-minute white bread along with vegan cheese for instant pizza.  If you like fresh tomatoes you will love these air fryer roasted tomatoes.

So many different ways to enjoy

The heat from the air fryer causes the Roma tomatoes to wilt just a little bit and become extremely juicy. They end up looking amazing and you could only imagine the way they taste. You’re really missing out if you’ve never tried cooking tomatoes this way! So make sure to cook a double batch of these tomatoes that are roasted in the air fryer. The uses for these flavorful tomatoes are endless.

Some ideas for roasted tomatoes are:

+ Add some to a sandwich, they would be perfect on vegan tuna salad
+ Toss the roasted tomatoes on cooked pasta
+ Add fresh basil and mozzarella cheese for an amazing appetizer
+ Add a couple tomatoes to a slice of homemade pretzel bread
+ Combine with caramelized onions for an amazing pizza topping
+ Add some roasted tomatoes to a vegan scrambled eggs
+ Eat them straight from the air fryer
+ Add to a bowl of grits or oatmeal

So easy to make

To make these delicious morsels of tomatoes you just need a couple ingredients and an air fryer. You will need 6-12 Roma tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and fresh rosemary. If you don't have a rosemary bush in your backyard, you can use dried rosemary.

Ingredients Needed
~ Roma Tomatoes
~ Olive Oil
~ Rosemary
~ Salt

Can I use other varieties of tomatoes?

I have not tried other varieties of tomatoes in the air fryer but if you grew other kinds of tomatoes like beefsteak, Early Girl, etc, I think they would cook just fine in the air fryer. I would not recommend cherry tomatoes as they are too small. If you choose to cook a different type of tomato, slice the tomato in half and keep the skin on. Place the tomato in the air fryer basket skin side down. You may have to adjust the time so check the tomatoes halfway so they don't burn. You may also have to cook bigger tomatoes longer.

Tomatoes are healthy

Tomatoes are not only delicious but they are also healthy. These red gems have the antioxidant lycopene, which has been linked to many health benefits, including reduced risk of heart disease and cancer. They are also a great source of vitamin C, potassium, folate, and vitamin K. The best part of cooking tomatoes is it increases the level of lycopene!

How to air fry tomatoes

Before you start cooking, make sure to wash all of the tomatoes and pat them dry.

Cut each of the tomatoes in half and put them in a bowl.

Drizzle in the olive oil and add the rosemary, and salt to the tomatoes. Toss everything really well to coat evenly. I have made these roasted tomatoes without using oil and they turned out fine but were more chared. They also lacked flavor. So I recommend using the oil if you want amazing flavor.

Transfer the tomato slices to the bottom of the air fryer basket, skin side down. It is ok if the tomato halves touch each other. Cook them in the air fryer at 390 degrees for 20-25 minutes. The tomatoes are roasted when they are wilted with a small amount of blackness. The black part is the sugar of the tomatoes caramelizing.

Carefully remove the roasted tomatoes from the air fryer and enjoy.

Cooking Tips

~ If you’re worried about making a mess in the air fryer or want minimal cleanup, you can lay a piece of parchment paper at the bottom of the air fryer but that is not necessary and cleanup is a breeze. The tomatoes will not stick to the pan.

~ You can substitute other spices for the rosemary like Italian seasoning or Thyme. You can even add some garlic to the tomatoes.

~ The extra roasted tomatoes can be stored in the fridge for a week.

Dairy Free Homemade Doughnuts Made In The Air Fryer

Having a dairy allergy can be tough at times as it makes eating out a challenge. It can also make social events with friends difficult as I am usually not able to enjoy the delicious treats at the event. I have learned to have strong willpower as I don't want to have an asthma attack over a sweet treat like a cookie or doughnut. For the most part, I can easily say no to baked goods at social events and I have learned to bring my own food.

The one sweet treat that is very hard to resist is doughnuts as they are so tempting with their frosting and sprinkles, especially a glazed chocolate doughnut. I remember the last doughnut that I enjoyed a year ago. The pink glazed doughnut tasted so delicious but an hour later I was sick to my stomach and the asthmatic cough that made breathing difficult was a reminder that my dairy allergy is real.

Doughnuts made without milk are so delicious

Why can't doughnut shops make donuts without milk or butter? Sadly I have yet to discover a doughnut shop that makes a dairy-free donut. So I gave up trying to locate a donut shop that sells dairy-free donuts and I decided to make my own. My dairy-free doughnut recipe is not only delicious and tastes like the real thing but they are way lower in fat when compared to the ones you buy at the doughnut shop. So that is a win-win for me. Healthier doughnuts are a good thing!

The doughnut dough is so easy to make

The dairy-free doughnut dough is so easy to make. The donut dough is similar to making dough for bread or biscuits. You do have to allow time for the dough to rise. Trust me, you want the dough to rise so the doughnuts will be soft, fluffy, and tender.

Soft on the outside, yet fluffy and tender on the inside. Sprinkles are the best part.

This doughnut recipe uses yeast and has to rise. That is what makes the doughnuts soft on the outside, yet fluffy and tender on the inside. One bite and you will fall in love with these doughnuts made without dairy products.

Ingredients Needed
+ Active dry yeast
+ Sugar
+ Flour
+ Salt
+ Plant-based milk, like almond milk
+  Vegan butter
+ Egg
+ Powdered sugar

Not fried in oil, so they are healthier

Normal doughnuts that come from a donut shop are fried in oil. These doughnuts made without milk are made in an air fryer so they are healthier. The vegan butter adds a small amount of fat to the recipe but it is way less. A typical doughnut has 11 grams or more of fat while these low-fat doughnuts have around 3 grams of fat depending on the type of vegan butter that you use.

Things you need to make air fryer doughnuts

To make air fryer doughnuts, you will need an air fryer, I love my air fryer as it is great for making fish, potatoes, and 2 ingredient everything bagels. A stand mixer also comes in handy for baking doughnuts and more. A stand mixer is the best appliance for baking and I am glad that I splurged and bought a Kitchenaid mixer. This mixer is a time saver for baking and makes it easy for my son to help with the baking. Other useful items are staking baking racks and cookie cutters. I finally bought stacking racks to cool my cookies on and I love them. These cookie racks make glazing the doughnuts a breeze.

Optional toppings and flavors for the doughnuts

These dairy-free doughnuts are delicious with just a plain glaze but you can top them with

+ sprinkles
+ coconut
+ chopped nuts
+ cinnamon sugar
+ chocolate frosting
+ mini vegan chocolate chips
+ Mix 4 TB cocoa powder into the batter for chocolate doughnuts
