My New Superfood Is Green With Sari Spirulina Powder

      I love drinking smoothies in the morning as it is a great way to start my day with a powerhouse drink that gives me a lot of nutrition in one drink. I always add two to three servings of fruit and veggies in my smoothies along with yogurt, flax meal or chia seeds, and green matcha powder. I have discovered a new green superfood powder to add to my smoothie, Sari Spirulina Powder. My smoothies have been green for quite a while as I know green means healthy so I did not mind the extra green that this organic Spirulina gave to my morning smoothie.

Spirulina Smoothie

1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries

1 cup frozen or fresh apple or pear chunks

1 heaping teaspoon Sari Spirulina Powder

1 cup water or grape or apple juice if you like a sweeter smoothie

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

I like to add 2 tablespoons flax meal to my smoothie for additional fiber and omegas.

Help A Family Have Thanksgiving

The Scary Mommy Thanksgiving Project began three years ago, with just a handful of families.

A handful of mothers who confessed not being able to afford Thanksgiving dinners and a handful of readers who volunteered to help them. Nobody was trying to save the world; we just wanted to be able to make a difference in one family’s life.

And then the magic happened.

More families came forward with their struggles and even more families pitched in to help, donating anywhere from a dollar to several hundred. Over four hundred families celebrated a Thanksgiving dinner they otherwise would have gone without and Scary Mommy Nation (now a 501(c)3 charity) was born.

Every day, Scary Mommy is proud to showcase a variety of viewpoints and perspectives from mothers everywhere. Underneath all of our differences – behind all of that which too often divides us – the wonder of a mother’s love for her children is universal. How I Took Care Of My Smelly Washing Machine With Smelly Washer Cleaner

Fifteen percent of sales to be donated to non-profit

                The recently opened Bonefish Grill in the Coronado Mall is continuing their charity      partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico (BBBS) by hosting a second Benefit Day in honor of the non-profit organization.

 From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15th, 15 percent of sales will be donated to the local charity to help fund their mentorship programs and facilities.

     In late July, Bonefish Grill of Albuquerque opened with a Benefit Night raising $5,000 for BBBS. To commemorate this lasting partnership, a check presentation for these funds will be held on the second Benefit Day at 6 p.m
