Discovering Natural Beauty With Mychelle Skincare Products


I love giving my skin a drink!

I received samples of the above skincare products.

    I love discovering natural beauty products that keep my skin looking nice. My skin is always on the dry side as I live in the desert. The dry heat is cooler but it does a number on my skin. I wake up in the morning so thirsty and that first drink of water not only quenches my body but also does wonders for my skin. To give my dry skin more moisture I decided to try MyChelle's new

  I love that these natural beauty products work together to my skin feel so soft, it was an easy four-step skin care routine that I enjoyed using. I started with the Ultra Hyaluronic Water Mask after I washed my face. This mask was light and made my skin tingle a bit but was refreshing at the same time. This mask had  Hyaluronic Acid, Blue Agave, and Prickly Pear Cactus in it to smooth and condition my dull dehydrated skin. After rinsing the mask off, I applied the Bio-Firm™ Hydrogel Concentrate. This one felt a bit sticky but quickly gave my skin a rosy look. This concentrate also had Hyaluronic Acid (the ingredient that hydrates the skin) and Plant Stem Cells & Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract in it. I just love those natural plant ingredients!

  I then applied the Ultra Hyaluronic Hydrating Cream for even more hydrating Hyaluronic Acid. This nourishing moisturizer had Plant Stem cells, Blue Lotus, Rose Petals, and Freshwater Algae in it! It made my skin feel soft and so healthy. I had to do a double take when I looked in the mirror as I could smile without fine lines showing around my eyes. My new friends are always surprised when I tell them I have a 28-year-old daughter and I am going to be a grandma soon. I see them doing the math in their heads and they find it hard to believe that I am 53!

Healthy Chocolate Zucchini Protein Bread

A healthy delicious twist on zucchini bread.


        I was busy making Lemon Blueberry Zucchini Bread when my son asked me if I could make a chocolate zucchini bread. I had plenty of shredded zucchini so I said sure. My son grabbed the chocolate chips from the freezer and started to look for the cocoa powder in the pantry. I told him that I did not think that we had any cocoa powder, as I used it up when I made my gluten-free black bean brownies last week. I suggested to my son that we just use the chocolate chips but he said: "mom, we can use chocolate protein powder." I was not even thinking about making the chocolate zucchini bread a healthier protein bread but since my son suggested the chocolate protein powder, I went for it. As my son was pulling out the protein powder, he then asked if he could make a chocolate peanut butter smoothie. I love that this child is such a healthy eater!

Veggies and chocolate are a good thing!

 When I make zucchini bread, I like to add extra zucchini as it not only adds extra nutrition to the bread, it also adds some extra moisture. This bread is so moist and loaded with protein. The protein powder that I used has a rich chocolate flavor so it adds lots of chocolate flavor to this healthy bread.  My boys love when I use this protein powder in peanut butter chocolate pancakes.


You can't even taste the zucchini!



Healthy Chocolate Zucchini Protein Bread

1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 scoops protein powder, chocolate flavor
1 large egg or egg substitute
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoon coconut or avocado oil
1/2 cup yogurt
1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini, make sure to pack it into the cup
3/4 cups chocolate chips


Oven 350 F
   Lightly coat a 9 by 5-inch loaf pan with oil.
1. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and protein powder, set aside.
2. Beat the egg, honey, and oil with a whisk or mixer.  Add the yogurt and mix well.
3. Then add the flour mixture and zucchini, combine this by hand.
4. Fold the chocolate chips into the mixture.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 40-60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
6. Cool the bread for about 30 minutes. To remove the bread from the pan, take a butter knife around the edge of the bread and then place a plate on top of the bread. Turn the pan over and lightly tap. The bread should come out of the pan.

  Most people tend to believe that zucchini bread is healthy as it has vegetables in it. Well, it does have vegetables in it but it also has a lot of sugar and butter in it and not really that much zucchini in it. Sure it is a delicious way to use up some of that zucchini that your garden is overgrowing. You know you have way too much zucchini when your neighbors don't answer the door when they see you coming. I don't have a green thumb so I love when my neighbors bring me garden goodies. Can I just make a suggestion? Please pick the zucchini before it gets the size of a small baseball bat. Bigger is not better when it comes to zucchini as the bigger ones tend to be tough. The ones that taste the best are less than a foot, like the ones you can buy at the store.

When your kid asks for veggies, it is always a good thing!

 My boys have been asking for zucchini bread and my neighbors have not brought me any. So I bought some zucchini at the store, I love eating Easy Baked Parmesan & Tomato Zucchini Gratin year round. When I make treats for my boys, I like to make them healthier so I will make it with less sugar and fat. I also add a bit more zucchini or some fruit like blueberries or pineapple. Sometimes I will add oatmeal for added nutrition but for this recipe, I choose not to add the oatmeal as I did not want that texture. The lemon juice brings out the sweet taste of the blueberries.

You will love this low-fat & low-sugar protein zucchini bread!



  If I am able to make a recipe with less fat and sugar without compromising on taste I will. The lemon and blueberries add so much flavor to this bread. That way I can indulge in a treat with no guilt. This zucchini bread has veggies and fruit in it so it is a healthy no-guilt treat that I can enjoy with my morning coffee. When I add vegan protein powder to it, then I can enjoy it for breakfast. The protein powder also makes this bread incredibly moist. The best part of this bread is you can't see or taste the zucchini. The blueberries cover up the zucchini but not the added nutrition.

Can A Natural Crystal Stone Keep My Armpits Dry?

  Can a mineral deodorant stone keep me dry for 24 Hours?



I received a sample of a Crystal Mineral Stone.

 I made the switch to natural deodorant about a year ago and I have tried many types of deodorant products. Some products have performed better than others and some products were a pain to use. I have tried sprays, creams, pastes, and roll-on deodorant. My least favorite was the paste deodorant as I had to stick my finger into a pot of goo and then rub into my armpits. Then I was left with paste on my fingers so I had to wash my hands, way too time-consuming for this busy mom! So that morning when I got dressed for the day, I saw the stone in my shower and remembered that I did not use it. Refresh Your Mind With A Delicious CBD-infused Soda

   Do you have days that just seem frustrating and nothing seems to go as planned? This was my day. I woke up early to head to the gym, I was amazed that I got out the door by 7 AM. I knew that the day might be busy as I had to make a phone call to straighten out a hotel bill that was supposed to be charged to my husband's work but instead was charged to our credit card. I had been on the phone all day yesterday but this call was to see if my husband's company had been successful. So after an awesome workout, I was ready for the day. To my surprise, my husband's work called me and took care of the bill. So I was glad that was done and I was ready to take care of other planned items for the day. That was until I glanced at the kitchen countertop and saw ants, way too many ants. As I was wiping up the ants I opened a cabinet and saw more ants all over my small appliances. My day took a turn for the worse as that meant hours of cleaning everything in that cabinet. After I set everything outside, I then grabbed the Ant Gel that the ants eat and it kills the whole hive. I feed those ants and within minutes tons of ants were eating the powerful gel. I then still had to clean up everything that was outside. After a couple of hours, I finally sat down with my smoothie and read my email. Then the boys got home from helping a neighbor and it was time for summer lunch park. I brought my computer with the intent to get some work done but I instead talked with some friends. Positive Thinking For A Healthier New You Plus a Delicious Tropical Coconut Mango Smoothie

  The other day when I was out walking with my kids, I did some about how I can influence my friends who are trying to lose weight or eat healthier. My husband has recently wanted to change and has had a desire to go to the gym more often and eat better. This change came about after a good friend around his age had a heart attack. This friend was of normal weight so that was the wake-up call that my husband needed. My husband realized that his high blood pressure and high cholesterol could lead him to also having a heart attack. My husband is not overweight but he realizes that he needs to exercise and eat healthy so he can lower his blood pressure and cholesterol. I am glad that my husbands only issues are these and not something like having to stop smoking. 

   It was on this walk, that I realized exercising eating healthy is a struggle for my husband. I have been eating healthy and exercising for a long time so it is no longer a struggle for me. So I have been changing my workout schedule to go to the gym with him. I began to think about how I can help my husband enjoy working out and enjoy healthier food. I realized that helping my husband needs to be more positive. I need to stop nagging him and be a positive encourager for him. I think me encouraging him with his food choices and having healthy food in the house is what my husband needs right now. 
 My husband does have a bit of a sweet tooth. I have heard that sugar addictions can be compared to someone needing to light up a cigarette. I have heard some say that sugar withdrawals are almost as bad as someone who is trying to stop smoking. Someone should make a tablet for sugar addictions like Champix

Diets always fail

   Most people associate diets with negative as most diets are all about taking away favorite foods. I think a better way is to not take away favorite foods but rather discovering new healthy food. So one needs to add new healthy foods to their meals instead. Look at the healthy food as an opportunity to try new foods. Treat yourself to new food every week when you go to the store. So have your usual meal but start adding a fruit or vegetable or a whole grain. These healthy foods will help fill you up so you will eat less of the unhealthy food. You might just discover that you like the new food. Need some ideas? Check out these 

Make exercise fun


 My husband hates working out but does it because he knows it is good for him. He will only go to the gym if I do, so I meet him at the gym after work three days a week. He enjoys our time together so that motivates him to go to the gym. At the gym, my husband puts on fast motivating music to make his workout more enjoyable. I think him watching other people exercise helps pass the time for my husband. My husband tells me that he enjoys watching me workout. I think the key to making exercise fun is to do different activities and on days that you just don't want to workout, just go for a walk. I have days that I don't feel like exercising and I always enjoy my walk after I force myself out the door. Fast walking is always a great exercise. They say you should workout three days a week for 30 minutes each time for health and 5 days a week if you want to lose weight. 


I make exercise fun for my younger boys by having them ride their bikes to a place that has cool rocks that they can climb on. I also take my boys swimming and to the park. The trampoline park is their favorite place to exercise.

Don't think about weight loss

 Think about making your body healthy. Don't focus on trying to lose weight instead make exercise and healthy eating a lifestyle. Most people take better care of their cars than their body. Think about how you want this body to be able to function properly instead. Taking care of your body means it will last longer just like taking care of your car. There is no need to weigh yourself either as that scale will only frustrate you. Losing weight takes time and when you focus on that number on the scale, it will only depress you. I stopped weighing myself over five years ago and it was the best thing I ever did. I do healthy as I want to feel good and be strong.

Love yourself and your body 

 We all come in different sizes and the focus should be on health, not a body size. I know many skinny people who are out of shape and unhealthy. I know many big people who are healthy. Love your body now. Love yourself to want to feel better. A healthy body does not get out of breath walking upstairs. A healthy body has fewer aches and pains. A healthy body gets sick less. A healthy body means less chance of heart problems or diabetes. A healthy body means having fun with my kids. It is about health, not about having that perfect body to wear a swimsuit. I just love seeing ladies who love their bodies after having kids and proudly take a photo of themselves in a swimsuit. I love ladies who have fun at the park and play with their kids!


Start your day with a positive attitude

  Start your day with loving yourself. Put on clothes that make you smile. Look in the mirror and say "I am beautiful." Have one healthy food for breakfast. It is amazing how doing one healthy thing for you can help you make other positive things. I always start my day with a smoothie that has fruits, greens, and protein powder in it. I like to think of my smoothies as a powerful glass of nutrition. Here is my favorite smoothie.


Tropical Coconut Mango Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1 cup coconut or almond milk
2 tablespoons dried coconut flakes
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup ice
2 tablespoons chia seeds

Directions
Place all ingredients except chia seeds in a blender. Blend until smooth. Stir in the chia seeds and pour into a glass. This makes one generous serving.

          
     






How To Get Most Stains Out Of Clothes

Do you look forward to laundry day?


   I do not like laundry day. To me, laundry is one of those things that you just have to do. I avoid doing laundry all week and only take care of it once a week. I would rather wash several loads all day then do one load a day. I have quickly learned how to delegate some of the laundry chores to my boys. My teen was the person who always started the washing machine but now that he is at the Merchant Marine Academy, I am stuck with the dreadful chore of starting the wash. I would love to hand over that job to the younger boys, as they already fold the clothes, but they would make a mess pouring the detergent into the machine. The boys would also not pretreat the stains on the clothes.  


I think pretreating stains on clothes is the worst part of the laundry. In a perfect world, I would examine every article of clothing and spray them with stain remover but I don't have any desire or time for that. I have better things to do with my time. My family knows the rules 
"if you stain it-you take care of it!" Taking care of it means pretreating the stain or telling mom about the stain.



Timing is everything


    The best way to get a stain out of clothes is to take care of the stain as soon as possible. So my boys know if they have a bloody nose or get spaghetti sauce on their clothes, they hand me the clothes right away so I can take care of the stain. Take care of stains as soon as possible. Fresh stains are much easier to remove than those over 24 hours old.

Cold water is best


When tackling a stain, always start with cold water especially on stains of unknown origin. Hot water can set protein stains like milk, egg or blood, cooking the protein into the fibers. Hot water works best on oily stains like mayonnaise or butter. 

Skip the soap


   Soap may cause some stains to set into the fabric. Reach for a powerful stain remover that is good on almost any stain. Different stains require different ingredients to eliminate them. Science shows that there is no one single ingredient that cleans everything well. I reach for Biz Stain Remover for all the stains on my boy's clothes. I love that I can pretreat all laundry stains with one product. Biz is my go-to laundry product. It is also great to add to the whole wash and helps get out those stains that my boys forgot to tell me about- like underwear stains. Again, I have no time or desire to check for stains on clothes

Soak away those stains

 My washing machine has a soak setting and I will use it on almost every load. I just add Biz liquid to my usual detergent and let the clothes soak for a least an hour. That way any stains that my boys forgot to tell me about will come out. When I know that the clothes might have extra stains on them or set in stains, I will add Biz Powder to the wash and let it soak for 2-3 hours. This powerful powder did wonders on my daughters old baby clothes and made them like new for my future granddaughter.

   I have been a runner for quite some time and when summertime hits, I have to change up things in my running game. The hot weather forces me to have to change the time of day that I go running. That means I either go running early morning or late at night. I am not a morning person so it is hard for me to get up early to go running. Waiting to night time to run is not any better as I am too tired to run. So I either force myself to get up or just go running in the heat. Oh, the struggles of summer running! This summer I have been working out at the gym three days a week and running outdoors for two days. I like that I have a free gym membership. I also have been going to the gym more often as I am trying to motivate my husband to workout more.

This has been my typical summer fitness schedule

Monday- elliptical machine at the gym for 40 minutes. 15 minutes of weight machines
Tuesday- run 30 minutes
Wednesday -elliptical machine at the gym for 40 minutes. 15 minutes of weight machines
Thursday- run 30 minutes
Friday- elliptical machine at the gym for 40 minutes. 15 minutes of weight machines
Saturday/ Sunday rest

This summer I have discovered some products that have helped me with running. So in no particular order of preference, I am excited to tell you about my favorite running products.

My go-to supplement for energy!




When I wait until evening to run, I am tired and I need some energy so I reach for this delicious berry flavored Endurance Drink to give a boost of energy. What I like about this supplement is that it gives me great energy without any caffeine. If I have caffeine after 3 PM, I will not be able to sleep. So I just mix up this drink that is loaded with B-vitamins to get some energy for running. This delicious drink also has collagen in it so it helps my muscles too.


The aches of summer running!


   I seem to be getting more muscle aches this summer. Maybe it has something with the heat or the fact I have increased my weights at the gym. I think both as the aches have also been on my knees and I only do arm weights at the gym. I love using CBD Oil Cream for muscle aches as it helps with the aches and pains. I discovered that CBD Oil Cream is great for pain last winter when I had a trigger finger that was stiff and hurt when I moved it. I applied CBD Oil Cream to my finger and it felt better the next day.  I also use CBD Oil Tincture for other pains like headaches. Since CBD Oil has no THC in it, I feel like it is a safe natural supplement. The other day my neck was sore from the trampoline park and I used the CBD Oil Cream on it and it gave me immediate pain relief. I also used the CBD Oil Cream on my 11-year-olds back as it hurt from falling on it at the trampoline park and it gave him excellent pain relief too. 

My favorite drink after sweating!


  Once it starts getting hot here, I start drinking an electrolyte drink after I run to replace all that summer sweat. I am picky about what I drink for fluid replenishment as most of these drinks are too thick and salty for my taste. I love the taste of detox water as it comes is some tasty flavor combinations. This detox drink also has aloe vera in it so I am getting the benefits of healthy digestion. My boys also love the taste of detox water and I catch them sneaking sips from my drink.

    I love Turmeric for inflammation!


      On the days I run and do weights at the gym, I drink a delicious Turmeric Drink. This drink has plenty of Turmeric in it and it keeps my muscles from aching. I also take a daily turmeric supplement to keep my old joints healthy so I can continue to run. On days my muscles do get achy, I will take some extra turmeric and that helps with the pain. Turmeric is great for inflammation too!

My favorite protein powder!


  I continue to drink a daily protein smoothie in the summer as the extra protein helps my muscles recover quicker. I usually drink my protein smoothie in the morning as it is a great way to start my day with protein, fruit, and veggies. The extra protein in my diet has helped my body tone up. My boys love when I make Peanut Butter Cup Protein Pancakes for breakfast.
