 As a kid, I grew up with eczema. I remember many winters when my hands were so raw and inflamed. The skin on my hands was dry, cracked, and bloody. My hands did not look nice and I remember hiding them in my pockets so kids would not say to me ~ "what is wrong with your hands?" I am sure that I had eczema on other parts of my body but my hands were what others could see. 

 I remember the doctor recommending cream after cream, which was supposed to help the painful dry skin on my hands. None of the creams helped my hands. When kids made fun of the way my hands looked, I thought that maybe I was to blame for my disgusting skin. I had people tell me that my hands looked that way since I washed my hands in cold water and did not dry them enough. Back then, my mom had no knowledge of my food allergies and mold allergies.

 When I moved out of the house, the eczema on my hands cleared up with a prescription steroid cream. It was not until many years later that I discovered my mold allergies were one cause of eczema. My skin was still sensitive and I thought that applying tons of lotion was the way to tame the eczema on my body. 

 Then my youngest son had worse skin problems than me. My other children had eczema as babies, as well as contact dermatitis. Apply baby lotion to their skin helped and they outgrew their skin problems. My youngest child was a different story. I would apply baby lotion to his dry itchy skin and he would scream that it burned. My son would try to wash the lotion off and I remember telling him, the burn would go away.

Natural Beauty Products Cured My Sons Eczema

 It was attending a Moms Meet Event in 2016 that I learned about natural skin care products. My son's skin cleared up after he stopped using beauty products that were filled with chemicals.  Living in the desert of New Mexico has its advantages and disadvantages when it comes to my beauty routine. The dry heat is good for my hair but not for my skin. Since the air here is dry, my skin needs plenty of moisture. I am that person who applies lotion several times a day and thick cream on my face at night. While the skin on my face tends to be dry, my feet get so dry that my heels have dry cracked skin.

 I am always looking for skincare products that will give softer skin. I want beauty products that moisturize my skin. Skincare products that are hydrating are a must for my dry skin. If a skincare product mentions that it offers moisturizing, hydrating, brightening, soothing, and balancing to my skin, then I need to try it. If this beauty product is recommended for sensitive skin, then I really want to try it.

Introducing MISSHA Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence

 I was sent a sample of a beauty skincare product from a company called MISSHA. MISSHA is one of Soth Korea's leading creators of high-quality and affordable beauty products. I love trying products that are affordable, so that way when I fall in love with them, I can continue to purchase them. I am sure, you as my reader way beauty products that are affordable as well as effective. 

 The product that I was sent from MISSHA was their Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence. This is a lightweight essence featuring double-fermented artemisia extract, also known as mugwort extract. So what is mugwort extract?

 Mugwort Extract

 I had never heard of mugwort extract, so I had to do some research. Mugwort is a weed. In Korea, mugwort is regarded as a healing herb for its antibacterial, anti-fungal, and skin-protective properties. Mugwort is also used in Korean cuisine (like rice cakes), traditional Korean medicine, and Korean homeopathic remedies. Women, in particular, use mugwort in tea form to help regulate their menstrual cycles and ease period cramps. At traditional bathhouses, you can also soak in mugwort-infused baths.

The MISSHA Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence is a natural skincare product that has soothing properties to the skin and is recommended for sensitive/irritated/acne-prone skin types. This essence is good for moisturizing, hydrating, brightening, soothing, and balancing the skin.

How to use  Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence 

+ After washing your face, dampen a cotton pad or cotton ball with the essence. Lightly wipe on your face. You can also pour a generous amount onto your palms and gently pat into the skin.

+ When your skin is feeling extra sensitive or dry, dampen a couple of cotton pads with the treatment essence and place them all over your face for 5-10 minutes as a soothing pack.

 I applied the MISSHA Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence to my face before I went to bed. I loved that this liquid was in a glass bottle as I am trying to buy fewer products that are packaged in plastic. Glass is better for the environment and can be more easily recycled. I think that beauty products in glass bottles just look so pretty on my bathroom vanity. 

The beauty essence had a nice light scent and since it was made from a natural plant, it did not aggravate my asthma. The Artemisia Treatment Essence was easy to apply to my skin and absorbed quickly. Since it was a natural product, I did not experience any skin problems. It felt soothing on my face. The true test if a product is good for sensitive skin, is to try it on my youngest son's skin.

 My youngest son has very sensitive skin, that even products made for babies, irritate his skin. When my son had his hard cast removed from his broken foot for X-rays, the foot doctor did not recast the foot as my son's skin had a bad rash. The doctor put a removable cast on my son's foot, so my son could apply a cream on his skin to treat the skin rash. The rash on my son's skin was red and painful. The natural calendula cream was making the rash worse. My son was using an ice pack on his skin to help with the pain. So I applied a small amount of the Artemisia Treatment Essence to my son's skin rash.

 My son said that the Artemisia Treatment Essence felt good on his skin and it did not sting. So I applied the essence all over the rash and the next day my son's skin looked better.

My skin felt soft

 I used the MISSHA Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence as part of my bedtime skin routine. After I washed my face, I applied the essence all over my face. While I brushed my teeth, I allowed the product to fully absorb into my skin. Then I applied my face oil to my skin and went to bed. In the morning my skin felt hydrated and soft. 

Will the Artemisia Treatment Essence help my feet?

 Since the Artemisia Treatment Essence moisturized my skin, I will be trying it on my dry feet. The essence helps your skin stay hydrated, so maybe it will help the dry cracked skin on my feet. I know that this beauty product is intended for the face but I will use the essence on my feet at bedtime before I apply my foot cream. My feet are super dry so it might take several weeks to see results. I will update this post later with my results.
