NIRA Facial Laser VS Solawave Red Light Therapy

As we age our skin starts to develop fine lines and wrinkles due to the lack of collagen production. Thankfully there are many options for skin care products that can help you look younger. Two beauty devices that work to diminish those fine lines are the NIRA Facial Laser Device and Solawave Red Light Therapy. I have used both of the beauty facial treatments for wrinkles and one of them is my favorite. Keep reading to discover which one I recommend.

The number of facial devices for younger-looking skin that are available now for use at home is incredible, even overwhelming. So how does one decide which one to buy? I have tested two popular facial devices ~ NIRA and Solawave and I can give my honest opinion on which one works best. Keep reading to discover the pros and cons of each facial device.

The at-home devices NIRA Facial Laser Device and Solawave Red Light Therapy both have roots in dermatologists' offices and aesthetic clinics. These facial devices for eliminating fine lines and wrinkles are comparable to the same facial treatments that you receive at a spa. Some even say that they work better than Botox.

I have used both devices ~ NIRA and Solawave for several months each and they are both amazing facial treatment products for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles Each device has similar features and unique features but if I had a choice in which one that I would buy, I do have a favorite product that I would recommend. I will give my answer at the end of this article.

NIRA Facial Laser ~ I was introduced to NIRA in 2019 when they reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to review the NIRA Precision Facial Laser. I was 54 at the time and my face was showing signs of aging. I had plenty of fine lines and my skin was starting to sag.

When I read the description of the NIRA facial laser beauty product and the photos on their website, I had to try this beauty product. I wanted to see if the NIRA could change the look of my skin. I was not ready to commit to Botox or cosmetic surgery, so trying the NIRA Laser product to see if it could give me younger skin was a must. The NIRA promises that it can reduce fine lines and wrinkles while giving skin a lifted, younger look.

Three months to younger-looking skin

So I gave the NIRA a chance and after using this facial laser device for 3 months, I was amazed at the results. You can read my full review of the NIRA Precision Laser Here. Several years later NIRA introduced another facial laser device and I put the NIRA Pro Laser to the test.

Solawave Red Light Therapy ~ A couple months ago, Solawave reached out to me and asked me to review their Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand. After reading up on the benefits of red light therapy for the skin, I had to try this facial device.

Red light has been shown to reduce inflammation in the skin,  produce collagen, prevent wrinkles, and improve skin texture, so I wanted to see how the Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand compared to the NIRA Facial Laser.

I was a huge fan of using the infrared sauna at my gym and love the benefits. So I wanted to experience red light therapy on my facial skin. I wanted to see if it really does improve the skin texture and if would it reduce the fine lines around my eyes. Solawave mentions on its website that this facial device is Dermatologist-grade technology for better skin in 2 weeks.

I put aside my NIRA Pro Laser for several weeks

To do a fair review of the Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand, I put aside my NIRA for several weeks. I was ready to use the Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand every day for several months. I was excited to see the many benefits of using red light on the face.

Red Light Therapy may help reduce the appearance of

+ Wrinkles

+ Dark Circles

+ Fine Lines

+ Blemishes

+ Dark Spots

See results in 2-4 weeks

The included pamphlet that came with the Solawave wand said, "Most users of the Red Light Therapy Wand see results within 2-4 weeks. I had to simply use the red light facial wand for 3 minutes on different parts of my face. So I daily used the wand on my cheeks, under eyes, forehead, and neck. That added up to 18 minutes of using the Renewal wand.

When I compared that to the amount of time of using the NIRA device, that was 13 minutes more!

My results of using the Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand

My initial thoughts on using the Solawave Renewal Wand were promising. You can read more here. After using the Solawave for 2 weeks, I could see my skin getting tighter and I was excited to see what 2 more weeks of use you bring. I made sure to take a before photo of my face so I could compare the results with an after photo. Sadly, my Solawave stopped working.

So I was not able to continue my review of the Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand. To get more information about the Solawave Red Light Wand, click here.

Comparing the NIRA Facial Laser Device to the Solawave Radiant Renewal Wand

In my honest opinion, I think both of the facial devices ~ NIRA and Solawave, will help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Both devices stimulate the skin to produce more collagen. The most noticeable difference between the two products is the cost and the time needed to see results.

+ Cost of Solawave vs Cost of NIRA: The Solawave may be several hundred dollars cheaper than the NIRA but you get what you pay for. The Solawave stopped working after 2 weeks. I have been using the NIRA Pro for about a year and it is still working. My NIRA Precision is 5 years old and it is still working. So I can foresee having to replace the Solawave many times.

+ Amount of time needed to see results: The NIRA only requires 5 minutes a day while the Solawave requires 18 minutes. While the Solawave promised results in 4 weeks compared to the NIRA of 90 days, the maintenance time of both devices differs.
  - After using 90 days, one only needs to use the NIRA a couple times a week for 5 minutes a day to keep your skin looking good.
  - After the initial use of Solawave, to keep your skin looking good, you need to use the device every other day for 18 minutes each time.

+ Charging the NIRA and the Solawave: The NIRA charges with a standard USB charger cord while the Solawave needs a specialized cord to charge the device. I have already misplaced the Solawave charging cord many times.

+ Solawave requires their special serum: To use Solawave, you need to apply their special serum to your face. While NIRA recommends applying their serum to your face after your treatment, it is not required to use the device.

Which facial device is my favorite?

The NIRA Facial Laser is my favorite for younger-looking skin. The one item that sold me on the NIRA was the daily amount of time that was required for use. I like that I only had to spend 5 minutes a day with the NIRA. The 18 minutes of using the Solawave was too much time!

I also like how durable the NIRA is and that I did not need a specialized cord to charge the device. I also have seen visible results from using the NIRA for many years. I look back at the photo of my face, 5 years ago, and I am amazed at the difference. My skin looks firmer and I have fewer fine lines.

Incorporating NIRA into my schedule

Some people may be hesitant to try the NIRA as it requires 3 months of dedication and the price may be expensive. While the initial price of NIRA may be around $500, ( cheaper with my coupon code MOMKNOWSBES10 ), this is cheaper than spa facial treatments and Botox. NIRA is comparable to facial laser treatments and Botox treatments that are offered at spas and it is a one-time payment for NIRA. Spa treatments add up to over $500 very quickly and Botox can be expensive to maintain.

After the initial three months of NIRA, I only need to use the device 2 times a week for 5 minutes. I love using NIRA while my coffee is brewing. I sometimes use my laser device while watching TV.

Still undecided about purchasing a NIRA Facial Laser Treatment?

NIRA offers a 90-day money-back guarantee. If after 90 days, you see no results, you can return the device for a full refund, no questions asked. If a business can back its product up with a full money-back guarantee, you KNOW it believes in its product!

I’m in my upper 40s and probably should be using products like these. But I don’t. I’m a natural and don’t use very many products or chemicals on my face.

It is great that there are a variety of these devices to choose from! I've never tried one, but I have heard a lot of good things about them. I'll have to check out the ones you tried. Sorry to hear that the Solawave stopped working for you!

I so want to give that NIRA device a try, I do lijke the look of the other better but not cool that it stopped working after 2 weeks. Did they not send you a new one? Maybe it was a faulty unit? Good to know that NIRA devices have been sturdy and that they are still working for you and I can for sure use one of these! Thanks for the great review!
