Lean Green Pineapple Kale Smoothie with The Nutri Ninja® Auto-IQ™ Pro Compact System

    I have found an appliance that is so awesome! I first discovered the Nutri Ninja brand when I was in New York this past July. I love that you put your smoothie ingredients into the jar and then twist on the blending lid. The jar then goes on the base so you can process the ingredients. Lean Green Pineapple Kale Smoothie

Ingredients

1/4 cup kale leaves, packed

1/4 cup spinach leaves, packed

1 small banana, peeled

1 cup fresh pineapple 1-inch chunks 

1/2 cup  water

1 cup ice

Instructions

Container: Regular 24-ounce Cup

Place all of the ingredients into the Regular 24-ounce Nutri Ninja® Cup in the order listed, starting with spinach.

Turn unit ON and select "Nutri Ninja® Auto-iQ™ Extract button

Balloon Fiesta Starts This Saturday

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta® will take place from October 3-11, 2015 at Balloon Fiesta Park. FINDING NOAH An Adventure Of Faith

   I don't think there is a person out there who has not heard about the great flood and how Noah built a big boat(ark). Everyone who believes in this story wonders about how big the ark was, how the animals lived and so on. We all have our questions about the animals, the ark and the flood. A lot of people wonder about what happened to the big boat. The bible tells us it landed on a mountain and for most people like me, that satisfies me. Then there are other people who believe the ark is still up on the mountain and want to discover it. I was able to preview the movie Finding Noah last night and I was just amazed at how a group of people went on a journey to find Noah's ark. The risks these men had to take was incredible. Does God want us to discover the ark? Is the ark meant for us to find? I think of the tower of Babel and how god scattered the people for wanting to build a tower to reach heaven.

Fall Flavors Are At Bonefish Grill

   Fall is here and the kids are back in school. My husband and I are busy with work, but we always find time to enjoy each others company and go on a date. We love to escape to a restaurant on date night. My husband lets me choose the place and of course I choose the place that has awesome seafood. I just can't get enough of seafood. Here in Albuquerque there is only one place to get great seafood and that place is Bonefish Grill. Their fish is flown in fresh from the sea which is good as we don't have large bodies of water here in the desert.

  When we arrived at Bonefish Grill, I noticed their new fall menu and the choices on it sounded do delicious. There was so many good choices that I had a hard time selecting what I wanted for dinner. My husband and I started our dinner Bonfish's warm crusty bread. We just love dipping the bread in the herb infused oil that is served with it.

I decided to order the Swordfish and Pumpkin Ravioli. This fish was nice and thick, just the way I like my fish. The swordfish was topped with feta, crisp onions and truffle butter. The French green beans on the side were nice and crisp.

The pumpkin ravioli had a wonderful filling inside it and it was so good.

My husband decided to order the Scampi-Style Snapper + Shrimp. This wonderful fish was grilled over oak and then topped with pan roasted shrimp, grape tomatoes, and white wine scampi. He chose the au gratin potatoes and green beans as his sides. His fish was deliciously seasoned with the scampi sauce and I of course grabbed a shrimp of his plate when he was not looking. We both love shrimp and have a hard time sharing them.

  

The other choices on the new fall menu were Rhea's Grouper and Oscar Mahi Mahi. The menu also featured Saucy Shrimp as a starter and Fresh Pear and Fall Apple Martinis. 

If my husband and I had room for dessert, I would have chosen the Pumpkin Crème Brûlée. My husband thought the Jen’s Jamaican Coconut Pie looked delicious. Next time we will save room for dessert.

My Strawberry Grape Beet Smoothie Gets Me Energized In The Morning, No Need For Coffee

    I just love smoothies as I can pack a lot of wholesome nutrition in a glass. My smoothies that I make are so healthy that they give me great energy to start my day and keep me going, does your coffee do that? I find that coffee does not give me lasting energy, although I do drink it later in the day for help with thinking. I find that coffee helps my mind work better, but not give me energy. My smoothies always have protein powder, fruit and veggies in them along with supplements like probiotics, omegas and matcha. I don't eat meat so I get some of my protein from my smoothies. I am always creating new flavors of smoothies and my latest flavor is strawberry grape beet. This smoothie tastes awesome and the beets not only add great nutrition, but it gives the smoothie a great thickness.

Strawberry Grape Beet Smoothie 

1 cup grape juice

1 scoop Zahler Reach strawberry whey protein powder

1 cup diced fresh or can beets

desired supplements,optional

( I like 2 tablespoons flaxmeal, probiotic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon Matcha green tea powder)

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. You can enjoy right away or make it the might before so you can grab it from the fridge for a breakfast on the go. 

  The protein powder that I used comes in flavors like strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, and Cappuccino so I can have variety in my daily smoothie. I used the strawberry flavor in my smoothie that I made. I also mixed the strawberry protein powder, by itself, into a cup of water and found the taste pleasant but not that sweet. So, my personal preference is to use the protein powder in my smoothies.

This Reach protein powder is made by Zahler and is great to use in smoothies or mix in water, juice or milk for an instant breakfast. My son likes to put a scoop of protein powder in a shaker bottle so he can later add water to make a great after running protein drink that helps repair his muscles.

Gluten Free Green Chile Corn Chowder from Boulder Organic Makes A Perfect Easy Fall Dinner

   The kids have gone back to school and our schedules have gotten busier with activities. It seems like most nights we have something on our calendar. That means I don't have time to cook dinner. I don't like ordering take out or buying fast food, so what is a busy mom to do? I want to cook a healthy meal for my family but I just don't have the time.
