SQUIGGLE On-The-Go Doodle Pads Makes Car Rides Fun

I found a fun activity product that inspires creativity in kids. Randomline sent me this awesome doodle pad to review with my kids. I love games that help my children learn and studies show doodling is great for creativity, like "super-food" for the mind. SQUIGGLE On-The-Go Doodle Pads are a pad of paper attached to a spinner. They come in many different themes. We received Barnyard Animals to review. Each piece of paper has a squiggle on it. The child spins the spinner and whatever animal it lands on is the one they will doodle. My 6-year-old son spun the spinner and it landed on a chicken. He had to then start with the squiggle and doodle the rest of the chicken. He was excited to draw on the pad of paper and drew his chicken, not bad for a 6-year-old.

I love that these doodle pads are small enough to fit in a purse, the paper is the size of those sticky note pads. I can see these Squiggle On-The-Go Doodle Pads being great for doctor visits, standing in lines, and car trips. We have a car trip planned and my son will be packing this in his car bag to play with. The teacher in me loves that this simple activity pad will help my child's brainpower and memory as well as offering a creative outlet.

My Smoothie Blender Is A Hamilton Beach 51106T Personal Blender

I have recently joined the smoothie craze. You have read many posts where I write about smoothies.  My son was the one who started making smoothies for a grab and go breakfast before school. He was using our regular blender and it took up so much space on the counter. So I decided if he was going to make smoothies every day, that I wanted something smaller that could stay out on the counter. I did my research and saw that there was many personal sized blenders one could purchase.  I settled upon the Hamilton Beach 51106T Personal Blender before I even knew it came in purple, it comes in many other colors too. The reviews were good and so was the price. When I found out that it comes in purple, I was sold. I love the color purple and since I was leaving in out on my counter I wanted it to look nice. I started making smoothies as I wanted a fast breakfast that was easy on my stomach that I could drink before running. 

This blender does not take up much counter space but don't let the size fool you on performance. This blender does a great job of  chopping up fruit and ice. I have put big strawberries that I only cut in half in my smoothie and this blender purees them just fine. The blades are metal and sharp, so ice is not problem for it. The jar says 14 ounces but when I filled it with water it held 18 ounces. That means you can make a two cup smoothie. The blender even has a hideaway cord wrap. Here is my smoothie recipes that I make.

1 cup plain yogurt(Here is a recipe for Homemade Yogurt)

1/2 cup cut up fruit 

2 tablespoons chia seeds or flax meal( great for omegas)

1 teaspoon green tea matcha powder

1/4 cup juice

Blend all ingredients in blender for about 30 seconds. If you want a really thick smoothie, make this the night before and chill in the fridge. The chia or flax thickens it up overnight.

Purple Cow Smoothie 

1 cup plain yogurt( store bought or Homemade)

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup grape juice

1 teaspoon White tea matcha

Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix for about a minute on high speed. This makes a generous sized smoothie that is great for breakfast or 2 servings for a snack.
