Looking for a delicious summer drink? You need to try an
Iced Green Tea Latte. This creamy green tea drink is loaded with healthy antioxidants and is so good. It is also so easy to make.

Iced green tea lattes are a popular item at coffee shops. While many people enjoy this delicious green drink for its taste, many more are ordering a green tea latte for the many health benefits that it offers. Green tea has a reputation for being a healthy drink. If you never had an iced green tea latte, then you are in for a surprise. This cold drink is refreshing and delicious.

Green tea lattes may be good for you, but did you know that the ones at the coffee shops are usually loaded with fat and sugar. I recently went to a website of my favorite coffee house to look at their drink menu. I was shocked to see that my favorite tall cold green tea drinks had 35-45 grams of sugar in them. That 35 grams of sugar is equal to about 9 teaspoons or 3 tablespoons of sugar. Yikes!

I am going to show you how to make a healthy version of the cold green tea latte and it tastes just as good as the ones you buy. Mine will also save you money. Once you see how easy it is to make a cold green tea latte at home, you will never pay big bucks for one at the coffee shop again. If you have dairy issues or follow a vegan diet, then make sure to use non-dairy milk like almond milk. This drink is also great for a gluten-free diet.

So what is a green tea latte anyway?

A green tea latte is simply a drink that is made with milk and matcha green tea powder. Green tea powder or Matcha is made from the leaves of green tea. Now we all know green tea is good for us, but Matcha is even better for us as it has way more antioxidants than a cup of brewed green tea. Matcha is the powerhouse of green tea. It is said that one teaspoon of Matcha equals ten cups of brewed green tea. Matcha has other great benefits too. This green powder enhances your mood, aids in concentration, boosts metabolism, and burns calories. The awesome thing is it does not give you the jitters like coffee, so it is a great alternative. Some people even say that matcha calms the mind and relaxes the body. I love that green tea powder has insoluble fibers, antioxidants, and L-Theanines in it. That is a whole lot of benefits for a small dose of green powder as you only need one teaspoon. I love using matcha daily for the brain, energy, and all those healthy antioxidants. I think it may be the reason my skin looks younger.

What is Matcha?

Matcha is a green powder that is made from green tea leaves. One serving of powdered matcha green tea leaves is equal to 10 cups of green tea. Green tea has many health benefits due to its antioxidants. So the health benefits of using matcha in recipes are many as antioxidants are good for you. Green tea matcha can be used in many drinks and recipes, like this Iced Green Tea Latte. You can also add the green powder to a hot cup of water for a delicious warm drink.

Super simple to make and love that it is 100% natural! As a SAHM I love being able to indulge at home rather than paying a lot more money to buy it at a coffee shop.

Nice! I like the froth so I'd probably let it go a bit longer. Think it would still froth up if I used hot milk? Hmmm

Hi Tara,
I am a huge fan of green tea, in fact I drink several cups a day. I enjoyed watching your video on how easy it is to make a green tea latte with the Matchaccino Green Tea Latte Mix. I like the fact that the mix works with soy or nut milks since I use Almond, hemp or rice milk with my green tea. Thank you so much for sharing this healthy and delicious recipe at the Plant-Based Potluck Party Blog Hop! I sincerely appreciate it!
