Controlling Motion Sickness The Natural Way

Do you suffer from motion sickness?

I tend to suffer from motion sickness when I ride in the car but there are things that I do to control it. On short car trips, I sit in the front seat and do not read. That seems to help most of the time unless my husband starts dancing to the music, especially at stop lights or when the teen puts on too much body spray. Then nausea sets it and I have to put my head back and close my eyes for a bit until I feel better. So to prevent me from car sickness, the teen knows that if he puts on too much body spray, we have to drive with the windows open. I also have to remind my husband not to dance to the music. Car rides are not fun with mom in the car. For as long as I can remember, I have suffered from motion sickness, my mom loves to tell stories about me puking in the car as a baby. The car is not the only place that I suffer from motion sickness. I can't swing on swings and don't get me started on those theme park rides. I once had a kiddie ride stopped at a pizza place so I could get off.

I received this product for free from Moms Meet to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided.

When we go on long car rides, I do take motion sickness tablets and sleep the whole time. I would take the tablets on short car rides but they make me sleepy.  So I am glad that I discovered  Sea Band Mama to help me with short car trips. This product may be marketed towards pregnant mamas but it is also great for other types of motion sickness. I wish I had known about these cute pink bands when I was pregnant, all five times. When I was pregnant, I suffered from terrible morning sickness for the first three months. It was the nausea that always made me realize that I was pregnant and the test just confirmed what I already knew.

What is Sea Band Mama?
Sea-Band is a knitted elasticated wrist band, which operates by applying pressure on the Nei Kuan acupressure point on each wrist by means of a plastic stud. The bands can be worn on each wrist whenever you feel nauseous.

I love that I can control my car sickness without drugs. These pink bands are easy to wear and I don't even notice that I am wearing them after awhile. I thought that they would hurt or annoy me but they don't. I keep my bands in the included case in the car so they are always ready for me to wear. Sea Band knows that morning sickness can be rough so they made some other unique products to help moms during this time. Did you know that scent can help with nausea? I just love the smell of
Sea Band Mama Aromatherapy Rollette. This easy to take with roll-on is made with lime, spearmint, and ginger oil and smells quite nice. I like to apply it before I go to bed as it smells that good.

Aromatherapy is well known for relaxation as well as the relief of many ailments. Inhalation of essential oils stimulates the body’s olfactory system, transferring a signal to the limbic system thus triggering the release of natural chemicals that relieve tummy upset.

Sea Band Mama also makes ginger lozenges to further help with the tummy sickness. They even added Folic Acid to these delicious lozenges which we all know is great for developing babies. I like to keep a box in the car for those times I feel sick. The ginger sure does help settle my stomach when car sickness settles in.

Natural ginger has been used for thousands of years in Chinese medicine to counteract the pain associated with stomach upsets. By stimulating the production of digestive juices, it acts quickly to neutralize stomach acids and soothe tender tummies.

Sea Band also makes these bands in other colors so the whole family can use them. My younger boys suffer from car sickness too so they also wear the bands while in the car. These bands are also good for other forms of travel like on water and airplanes and also chemotherapy. I love that they are reusable and washable. Check them out and see if they can help you.

I always use sea bands for motion sickness and even just a plain old upset stomach. They work great no matter what age. If my kids wake in the morning with a stomach ache - I break out the sea bands and they wear them to school.
