A Day At The Zoo With Goddess Garden Safe Sunscreen Review/Giveaway

Disclosure: This post was created in partnership with Goddess Garden. Regardless, my opinions are honest.

I am so excited to be able to go to the zoo with my youngest son and his school on a field trip. The zoo is always a fun place to go as I love seeing all the animals. This zoo trip is going to even more exciting as a new baby hippo was born last month and a new alligator exhibit just opened. The zoo of course is mostly outside and it will be a sunny day when we visit. So a day out in the sun requires a bag packed with certain items. I packed my bag with our lunch, a bottle of water, sunglasses, a hat for my son, and the most important item safe sunscreen. I know wearing sunscreen daily can protect me from the aging effects of the sun and dangers like skin cancer. My bag is by the door ready to go for our fun day at the zoo.

A day in the sun always requires safe sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun. My choice of sunscreen is Goddess Garden Organics. This safe sunscreen is certified organic and free from chemicals and gives my skin broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection, without irritating my son's sensitive skin. I love that this safe sunscreen is also biodegradable, reef-safe, vegan, non-GMO, and free of gluten ingredients. The packages are of course recyclable.

Goddess Garden Organics sent me their Everyday Natural Sunscreen and Sport Natural Sunscreen to use on my family. I love that these safe sunscreens come in spray or lotion forms, which makes applying the sunscreen easy. My favorite way to apply this safe sunscreen is with their trigger spray container, I just love that the container has a safety latch on it to prevent the product from spraying in your bag.

Did you know sunscreens use toxic chemicals such as Oxybenzone, Homosalate, Ocrisalate, and Octocrylene which absorb into your bloodstream and are extremely unhealthy?

Click here for more information on Oxybezone.

Goddess Garden is a Zinc and Titanium (mineral) based sunscreen with an SPF of 30.
Look at all the plant based ingredients that are in Goddess Garden Sunscreen. These ingredients moisturize, protect, and repair your skin too, very cool! The sunscreen smells great and absorbs quickly without leaving your skin greasy or white.

My son and I had a great time at the zoo. My son has sensitive skin and Goddess Garden Organics sunscreen did not irritate his skin. He allowed me to spray him with the spray version and it went and quickly. We enjoyed being outside looking at all the animals. I am glad I was able to protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun with a safe sunscreen. Thank you Goddess Garden for making a sunscreen without harmful chemicals.

What outdoor activities do have planned for this summer? Will you be using Goddess Garden Organics sunscreen to protect your skin?

I am from South Florida and I live in San Diego. Sunblock has been a way of life for as long as I can remember. Of course, as a cancer survivor, I want to protect myself against skin cancer - BUT sunblocks had horrible chemicals so it almost felt like I was still harming myself by using them since we all know we absorb these things through the skin. Enter Goddess Garden. I was so glad to find their products. I use them and recommend them, too! Thanks for sharing the word. :)

First off, Heather and I have similar backgrounds...lol brooklyn to miami to los angeles <3 I have always lived near the water and honestly I never paid much attention to my mom when she said..."wear a hat" "put more sun block on" I laughed it off...Not so funny now I am dealing with dark spots on my cheeks and dry skin as well. I am trying to show my daughter the importance of protection now and these products look FAB!! thx for sharing this post with us.

I'm so glad I read this, since I live in FL, sunscreen is very important to me and I drill my kids about wearing it but didn't even think about its effects on our skin and health or the Eco system. I'll have to pick this one up. Oh and we love the zoo, too, we just had a baby gorilla born at ours!

The ingredients in these sunscreens are the healthiest. I'd never heard of this brand before. Thanks for introducing me to something new I can use. All skin shades really need to be using sunscreen if outdoors any length of time.

I've been using Goddess since last year but this year's formula is even better! It goes on sheer, smooth, and not sticky at all! Safe ingredients are important but so is easy of use and effectiveness! Glad you love it too!

I can't believe I haven't heard of this brand before. We are all really fair and I am always worried about sunburns, but chemicals in sunscreens are scary too! This sounds terrific!

Thank you for providing such an informative post! My husband has always been cautious about the chemicals in sunscreen. I am always making sure my kids have their sunscreen on, because their school has a lot of outside activities when the weather is nice. It is nice to have some more options that I was not aware of.
