Holiday Decorating With Wonderful Halos

Looking for a unique holiday centerpiece? Check out this edible holiday centerpiece that is made with sweet wonderful Halos Mandarins. This holiday craft is so simple to make and will look amazing on your holiday table.

I think my favorite thing about the holidays and the Christmas season is getting together with friends and family. These festive parties are a great way to catch up with friends and enjoy holiday food. This leads to my second favorite part of the Christmas holiday, enjoying delicious food. Delicious food and spending time with friends and family always brings joy to me.

Since I am into healthy eating, I love bringing a healthy dish to a holiday party. This year I decided to not only bring a healthy food item but also bring an edible holiday decoration. I discovered a holiday craft that creates a Christmas tree out of mandarin oranges. This festive fruit tree will look amazing on the buffet table and the best part is folks can pick a sweet mandarin orange off of the tree to enjoy. Keep reading to discover how to make a holiday tree with sweet Wonderful Halos Mandarin oranges.

A holiday breakfast to say thank you to volunteers

My husband and I lead a food pantry at our church. This food pantry serves the community and provides boxes of food every month to those in need. Every third Saturday of the month a truck brings food to our church and with the help of many volunteers, this food is put into boxes to then put into the trunks of the folks who need food. These volunteers work hard every month and I decided to make a simple grab-and-go holiday breakfast for them at our monthly food pantry as a way of saying thank you.

Since our food pantry distribution happens later in the morning, I decided to serve healthy snacks on the coffee bar table. I wanted our coffee area to look festive for the holidays so I decided to create a Christmas tree made from Wonderful Halos mandarin oranges. This holiday craft made from Wonderful Halos would also double as a holiday decoration and would make the coffee area festive looking.

Wonderful Halos are packed with vitamin C

I like that Halos are packed with plenty of vitamin C. These sweet oranges are also so easy to peel. That makes them a perfect winter snack as vitamin C is good for the immune system. I like to keep plenty of Halos in my fridge, so my family can easily snack on them. Halos mandarin oranges are also great to use in recipes. Last year I used Halos in my homemade cranberry sauce.

Wonderful Halos are great for holiday crafts

These small orange mandarins are also perfect to use in holiday crafts. Last Christmas I made some cute snowmen with the Wonderful Halos in this DIY Wonderful Halos Snowman Craft and I have also used the small fruits in Valentine's crafts. I love that Halos make the perfect edible crafts.

This Halos Christmas tree is simple to create and the craft supplies are also simple. Most of the craft supplies that are needed for the holiday tree can be purchased from a dollar store. You can find bags of Wonderful Halos at most grocery stores as they are in season. This Christmas tree craft will need at least 22 mandarin oranges, so make sure to buy at least 5 pounds of Halos.

Supplies needed for the Wonderful Halos Christmas tree

+ Wonderful Halos mandarins

+ small cake stand or platter

+ adhesive dots

+ toothpicks

+ snips of greenery ( use fresh or fake ones, I think that fresh Rosemary would look awesome)

+ ribbon or twine

+ scissors

Grab your Halos and make a Christmas tree

To get the full instructions for the Christmas tree craft head to https://www.halosfun.com/crafts/halos-tree-and-presents. On the Wonderful Halos website, you will find step-by-step instructions for the Halos holiday tree. You will also find a store locator to see which store has Halos in stock. So head to the store and buy plenty of Halos oranges for this Christmas craft and for healthy snacking.

I had to make modifications to the instructions

Here is a photo of how the Halos tree is supposed to look, when you follow the instructions that are on the Wonderful Halos website. I made some adjustments to the instructions as the glue dots were not working to keep the oranges in place. So I used a hot glue gun and toothpicks to hold the mandarin oranges together. I also used wire ribbon on the bottom layer of the oranges to keep them from rolling. These delicious snacks sure do roll!

I would love to see your Halos Christmas Trees. So feel free to post a photo on the Mom Knows Best Facebook page.
