Many thanks to Blue Gate Musicals for providing a sample of the product for this review. My opinions are 100% my own.

Are you looking for a night of entertainment that the whole family can enjoy? Then grab your family & watch “The Confession Musical”. This made-for-the-family movie is based on the best-selling book series “The Heritage of Lancaster County” by New York Times Bestselling author Beverly Lewis!

I had the privilege of previewing The Confessional Musical Movie, a Broadway-style musical, and I enjoyed watching this movie. I am a fan of musicals, especially when they are movies approved for the whole family. I enjoyed learning about the life of the Amish people through a story about adoption and the love of the mother who gave up her daughter.

Bring your friends & family to see this inspiring and entertaining story of two worlds colliding as a young Amish woman seeks to find her birth mother.

Two worlds collide when a young Amish girl discovers she was adopted by a wealthy Christian family. As she seeks her birth mother, she has to overcome the obstacles of a lost fiancĂ©e, a shunning and a crafty gold-digger who seeks the fortune of her birth mother.

“The Confession Musical” stars John Schneider (Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville), Emmy® nominated, and best-selling comedian/actress Chonda Pierce!

Info about the movie: “The Confession Musical” is based on the New York Times best-selling book series “The Heritage of Lancaster County,” written by Beverly Lewis and written for the stage by Emmy-Nominated screenwriter Martha Bolton. Katie Lapp, a young Amish girl, discovers her parents have been keeping a secret from her... she is adopted. Katie decides to seek her birth mother, defying the rules of her Amish village and risking a shunning. Meanwhile, her wealthy birth mother, Laura Mayfield, battling an illness that might take her life, begins searching for her long-lost daughter to bequeath her inheritance before it is too late. Secretly plotting against her is the gold-digging husband Dylan (played by John Schneider), who is scheming to make sure he inherits her fortune. With the help and prayers of her Christian maidservant (played by Chonda Pierce), they try to foil Dylan’s plan and reunite Katie and Laura.

“The Confession Musical” is in theaters for one night only on February 20th! Buy tickets today to see THE CONFESSION musical movie exclusively in theaters on February 20th!

The music was entertaining and so was the story.

Beverly Lewis was inspired to write the book The Heritage of Lancaster County after she learned of her maternal grandmother Ada’s excruciating shunning. ~ Ada being ousted from her Plain church community and the only people she’d ever known was heartbreaking. Her father warned if she was to remove her prayer covering, and wear a forbidden, gold wedding band, she was never to darken the door of their home again. Learn more about Beverly Lewis's books in this Blog Post from Beverly Lewis. “The Confession Musical” movie is not a documentary. It is pure entertainment.

“The Confession Musical” movie may talk about the Amish people but it is not based on a true story. The musical-style movie is pure entertainment. After watching the movie, I had to know more about the author Beverly Lewis and her books. So I did some research and discovered Beverly Marie Jones (Lewis) was born in the heart of Amish country—Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At the tender age of nine, she began writing short stories and poetry. The book, that “The Confession Musical” is loosely based on the author's maternal grandmother, Ada Ranck Buchwalter, who left her Old Order Mennonite upbringing to marry a Bible College student.

The movie had me smiling and laughing. It was the actors singing that not only entertained me but hading me laughing. It was a movie that I enjoyed watching and recommend that you go watch the movie “The Confession Musical” but it is only in theaters for one day ~ February 20th. So get your ticket today.
