Many thanks to Angel for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

The movie He Calls Me Daughter is made for women who struggle with the pain of not having an earthly father. If your relationship with your dad left wounds, this film is for you. He Calls Me Daughter is now streaming on Angel.

Last month, I had an opportunity to watch He Calls Me Daughter, and this was a movie that I enjoyed. You can check out my review of He Calls Me Daughter here. This is a movie that I encourage all ladies to watch, even if you had a father who loved you. This movie will move you and deepen your relationship with God. It may also help you minister to your friends who did not grow up with a positive father figure in their lives.

Watch He Calls Me Daughter now on Angel and experience a story of healing, identity, and restoration.

About the Film He Calls Me Daughter

He Calls Me Daughter is a faith-based documentary. This is a deeply personal and emotionally powerful film that explores what it means to carry a father wound and what it takes to heal from it. Through raw storytelling and spiritual insight, the film reveals how unmet needs from an earthly father can shape identity, relationships, and self-worth. But it also offers a path forward. One rooted in the love of a Heavenly Father who restores, redeems, and redefines what it means to be a daughter.

This is not just a story about pain. It is a story about healing, forgiveness, and identity.

He Calls Me Daughter is an invitation to experience the love of a Father who does not withdraw. He is one who offers peace, belonging, and restoration.

Healing the Father Wound

As a daughter of a father who was not present in my life, I can relate to this movie. While listening to the various ladies share their stories of their non-existent dads or abusive fathers, their words brought up a past life that I have put behind me. I heard myself saying out loud, “Yep, that was me, and I can relate to the Father Wound.”

The “father wound” shapes how daughters see themselves, love others, and relate to God. For me, my Father Wound, stirs up painful memories of emotional abuse and non-existent love from a father who was dealing with his own painful relationships.

When I accepted Christ into my life, I was able to deal with my past and learn how to forgive my dad, but I still had a hard time grasping God as a loving father figure. I saw God as a powerful creator and healer, but never as someone who truly loved me as His daughter.

Watching He Calls Me Daughter helped me realize that I am not alone and that there are many women out there struggling with seeing God as a father figure. This film brought clarity to my pain, while offering me hope for healing.

If you desire healing from the Father Wound, ~ Watch He Calls Me Daughter now on Angel and experience a story of healing, identity, and restoration.

Many thanks to He Calls Me Daughter for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

For many women, it can be hard to grasp God as a father figure, and this can have an impact on their relationship with God. The reasons are many for why these ladies struggle, but for most, it starts with not having a father in their life or having an abusive father.

The movie He Calls Me Daughter is made for women who struggle with the pain of not having an earthly father and the reality of what it has done to their relationship with their heavenly father. I am one of those ladies who has carried the pain of not having a father in my life, and I knew I had to see the movie He Calls Me Daughter.

My takeaways from the movie He Calls Me Daughter

As a daughter of a father who was not present in my life, I can relate to this movie. While listening to the various ladies share their stories of their non-exsistent dads or abusive fathers, their words brought up a past life that I have put behind me. I heard myself saying outloud, “Yep, that was me.”

While watching this movie, it was hard to hold back the tears from the pain of my childhood. As I got further into this movie, I was able to praise God that He brought people into my life when I was a teenager. This movie helped me understand the moments that I allowed God into my life and how he brought me out of the pain from my childhood.

While God brought me out of the pain, I still struggle with God as a father figure. I struggle with questions like - “Does God love me? Am I worthy of His love?

I knew that I had to watch this movie. This movie helped me realize that I am not alone and that there are many women out there struggling with seeing God as a father figure. By the time I finished watching this movie, I wanted the healing that these ladies received.

True healing isn’t found in earthly relationships, but in a relationship with our heavenly Father.

The Optimist Film ~ A True Story of Survival and Connection

He came out of the darkness… to bring her into the light…Based on a true story, THE OPTIMIST follows Holocaust survivor Herbert Heller and the unlikely friendship that transforms two lives.

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Trafalgar Releasing.

The Optimist is a film that is based on a true story of survival and connection. It is more than a film— it is a journey from darkness to hope. The film is deeply rooted in two causes that reflect its heart: KAVOD, which supports Holocaust survivors living in poverty, and Bring Change to Mind, a national nonprofit empowering youth to end the stigma around mental health. Contributions supporting these organizations help extend the film’s impact beyond the screen.

About The Optimist

Based on a true story, THE OPTIMIST follows Holocaust survivor Herbert Heller and the unlikely friendship that transforms two lives. At 15, Herbert escaped the Auschwitz-Birkenau death march, carrying the weight of silence for six decades. When he finally breaks that silence, he forms a life-saving bond with Abby, a troubled teenager confronting her own pain. Together, they discover hope, healing, and the transformative power of being truly seen.

Directed by Finn Taylor and produced by Jeanine Thomas, THE OPTIMIST stars Stephen Lang and Elsie Fisher in an intimate, intergenerational story about trauma, memory, and healing. Lang delivers a career-defining performance opposite Fisher in a story developed over more than a decade by Thomas, who first met Heller before his passing in 2021. The film honors Heller’s legacy as an educator and survivor who shared his testimony with thousands of students nationwide.

The ensemble cast includes Luke David Blumm, Leah Pipes, Ben Geurens, Ursula Parker, Slavko Sobin, Stella Stocker, Oskar Hes, and Robin Weigert. Produced by Jeanine Thomas and Noah Lang, with executive producer Todd Slater, the film features cinematography by Antonio Riestra and Alexander Surkala and editing by Kaufmanova Olina and Rick LeCompte.

The film will be released nationwide on March 11, 2026, through Trafalgar Releasing. Buy your tickets here

About Herbert Heller

Herbert Heller was born in April 1929 in Teplice-Šanov, Czechoslovakia. He was the younger son of engineer Karel Heller and his wife, Melanie (née Porges). At age 12, he and his family were deported by the Gestapo to the Theresienstadt (Terezin) Ghetto, and later to Auschwitz-Birkenau. During the forced Nazi death march, he made a miraculous escape by himself at age 15.

Emigrating to the US the following year, Herbert settled in San Francisco, worked at Macy’s while attending night school, and joined the U.S. Army Reserves, becoming a citizen in 1952. He married Annette (née Zion) in 1956, and together they raised three daughters.

In 1958, Herbert opened a children’s clothing store in San Rafael, which he operated for nearly 50 years. Known for his kindness and perseverance, he became a beloved figure in his community.

After six decades of silence, Herbert began sharing his Holocaust story in 2004, speaking to thousands of students and inspiring countless young people with his message of courage, hope, and remembrance. In 2020, Herbert was honored with the Jefferson Award, which recognizes ordinary individuals who perform extraordinary acts without seeking recognition—a fitting tribute to his quiet but profound impact.

Herbert passed shortly after in 2021, leaving a lasting legacy of resilience and compassion, as well as ten grandchildren.

My Review of The Optimist

I enjoyed watching The Optimist Film and learning more about Herbert Heller. This was a tough movie to watch, as it showed the reality of what the Jewish people endured during the Holocaust. As I watched the film. I began to understand why Herbert did not share his past with his family. Learning that he kept quiet for 6 decades to save his family from the pain and trauma must have been hard for him.

While sparing his family from the pain of what he went through may have kept the trauma away from his family, it was not doing Herbert any good. When  Herbert learn that he was dying, he realized that he had to tell his family about his time in the Holocaust camp. He chose to tell his story on a video.

His sessions of making the video helped Herbert to finally heal from the past. This also helped Herbert get better, and he lived for many more years.

This is a film that everyone needs to watch. This film teaches that healing can come when you choose not to let the past have control over you. This was a time in history that can not be forgotten.

Still Hope Is The Realistic Side Of Sex Trafficking

Some movies are hard to watch, but when one sees the reality of a horrific thing like sex trafficking, you realize why these movies are made. The movie Still Hope was made to educate in the hope that it can save other girls from a life of torture.

Many thanks to Studio 523 for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

‘Still Hope’ – New Film Based on a True Story Reveals the Untold Story of Hope and Healing After Sex Trafficking. Premiering in theatres nationwide February 5–9, 2026, the film seeks to raise awareness of the global issue of sex trafficking and the vital role of recovery resources for individuals healing from trauma.

About Still Hope

Beloved by her family and raised in a quiet community, 16-year-old Hope finds herself in danger when a new friend is not who he claims to be. Ripped from all she knows and forced into sex trafficking, Hope is stripped of her identity and threatened into submission, surviving years of abuse. Hope finally finds freedom and reunites with the family that never gave up looking for her. Though now safe, she struggles adjusting to her old life as she reconciles with all she’s endured. Hope’s journey is inspired by true stories and powerfully illustrates the courage it takes to find healing after life’s darkest moments.

At its heart, Still Hope is a story shaped by the belief that darkness does not have the final word. It reflects the quiet strength of faith, the power of love that refuses to give up, and the hope that remains even after unimaginable loss. More than a story of survival, it is an invitation to believe that restoration is possible and that light can still be found.

Freedom is just the beginning. Still Hope is coming to theaters on February 5, 2026

“Every person needs to see this film!” - Natalie Grant

I so agree with Natalie Grant that every person needs to see this movie. This movie will show you the reality of how easy it is for girls to be deceived into trafficking. It starts out as an innocent conversation with a boy. These girls are lured into this world through people who are trained to put on the charm, and the young girls have no clue what is happening.

When you purchase a ticket to Still Hope, you help shine a light on the fight against trafficking and amplify the hope this film was created to share! A portion of ticket proceeds will go towards organizations that care for victims of trafficking.

Get tickets now to see this powerful film in theaters on February 5!

Watching the movie Still Hope opened my eyes to the fact that the girls who were forced into a life of trafficking did nothing. Nothing that they did caused them to be targets of this ugly world. The world of trafficking is that of organized crime, and it seeks these girls. Once they capture the girls, they drug and brainwash them. They make it impossible for these girls to escape.

For the girls who are able to escape, the healing part is hard. When you choose to buy a ticket to see this movie, you are supporting organizations that help these girls recover from this trauma. So spread the word and tell others about the movie Still Hope.

In the United States, young people are exploited through the trafficking industry across every state and territory, regardless of age, ethnicity, and gender. The National Human Trafficking Hotline received 9,619 reports of potential human trafficking cases involving an estimated 16,999 victims in 2023 alone.

I Can Only Imagine 2 In Theaters February 20th

Some stories deserve an encore. I Can Only Imagine 2 will be in theaters on February 20th to continue the story behind the song I Can Only Imagine.

I Can Only Imagine is a powerful song that speaks to the soul. This song brings back so many memories for me. It is a powerful worship song that has brought me through some tough times.

I can remember the first time I heard this song played at a funeral of a young boy who committed suicide. Most recently, this song was played at my father-in-law's funeral. It is a song that gives me hope about the day that I will get to meet my creator and how glorious it will be.

The first movie ~ I Can Only Imagine, was about the inspiring and unknown true story behind MercyMe's beloved, chart-topping song. It was a powerful movie that I could relate to and brought tears to my eyes. Like Bart Milard, I grew up with abuse. I also faced severe depression with suicidal thoughts after my older brother was killed. I am only alive today, thanks to others telling me about the saving grace of God.

I Can Only Imagine 2 Screener

When I found out that Kingdom Story Company was continuing the story with the movie, I Can Only Imagine 2, I was excited. I was even more excited when I received a screener link to watch the movie, and was able to watch the movie with my family.

I Can Only Imagine 2 is just as powerful as the original movie. It is based on the true story of MercyMe’s Bart Millard as he continues his life with the band and a family. Like the first movie, it is filled with a powerful story. You need to see the movie!

God is in the fire. And it is beautiful. Experience #ICanOnlyImagine2—only in theaters starting February 20

Synopsis of I Can Only Imagine 2

After the breakout success of the song “I Can Only Imagine,” MercyMe’s Bart Millard (John Michael Finley) is living the dream—sold-out arenas, a devoted fan base, and a thriving career. But behind the spotlight, Bart’s past threatens the family he’s built, especially the fragile bond with his son, Sam (Sammy Dell).

When hopeful newcomer Tim Timmons (Milo Ventimiglia, “This Is Us”) joins the band for their biggest tour yet, he unknowingly brings a renewed gratitude to Bart’s life through their unlikely friendship. Bart soon discovers that Tim carries hardships—and secrets—of his own, forcing him to face his past and repair his relationships with Sam and his wife, Shannon (Sophie Skelton), before fame costs him what matters most. Based on the heartfelt true story behind the hit single “Even If,” I CAN ONLY IMAGINE 2 is the inspiring next chapter of faith, family, and finding God in the fire.

~ Directed by Andrew Erwin and Brent McCorkle, written by Brent McCorkle, and starring John Michael Finley, Milo Ventimiglia, Sophie Skelton, Arielle Kebbel, Sammy Dell, with Trace Adkins and Dennis Quaid.

Little House On The Prairie was a huge part of my childhood

I have fond memories as a child, reading the Little House books and watching Little House On The Prairie. I remember checking out the books that Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote and reading them. When I read these books, I always thought about what it was like to live on the prairie.

I would imagine what it was like to attend school in a one-room schoolhouse and what it was like living on a farm. These books really inspired me, and to this day, when I am processing carrots for juice or working in my garden, I pretend that I am living back on the prairie.

As a young girl, I watched Little House On The Prairie almost every day. My favorite character on the show was Nellie Oleson. I loved the name Nellie so much that I even selected this name for a future daughter. Sadly, I had 4 boys, and my husband said no to that name for our only daughter.

About Little House Homecoming

Join Dean Butler and Alison Arngrim as they host a virtual cinema event that allows fans to experience Little House Homecoming with friends and family from the comfort of their home.

This virtual cinema event will include reflections from Dean and Alison, the premiere of the feature-length documentary, and a bonus conversation with cast members filmed at Rocky Ridge, Laura and Almanzo’s farm in Mansfield, Missouri.

A homecoming years in the making

Christmas at the Cabin reminds us to stop striving for perfection

I was able to watch the film and I enjoyed watching the movie. While watching this movie, I had some insights that I could apply to my own life. We want to make Christmas a big, huge celebration that is picture-perfect. Through all the hard work that we put into planning, cooking, shopping, etc, we may forget to enjoy the holiday. We may forget the reason that we celebrate Christmas. We may forget that this is a time to spend with friends and family.

Do you get excited about Christmas, or do you dread Christmas?

There are parts of Christmas that I get excited about, but then there are parts of the holiday that I dread. I love baking cookies with the kids, spending time with my family, and attending the Christmas Eve service. The parts of Christmas that stress me are shopping, decorating, and thinking that everything has to be perfect.

This movie reminded me of what Christmas is all about. When Michelle realized that she could not do everything on her perfect list, she found the best Christmas miracles come wrapped in chaos. This movie will help the family get into the Christmas spirit.

Many thanks to Huff Media Productions and Pangea Pictures for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

When it comes to entertainment for children, specifically ages 8-12.there is a firehouse of media coming at them. From online videos to shows on streaming platforms, most of the entertainment that these kids are watching may not be appropriate for them.

That is what the makers of Dot Conner: Webtective are trying to combat. They are creating content that is exciting to watch and fun for the whole family. This is a mystery adventure movie that you need to watch.

Watch this fun, God-honoring film with your family - Dot Conner: Webtective is only in theaters starting September 19!

I had the opportunity to watch this movie, and I enjoyed watching it. This was a movie that is perfect for the whole family to watch. It is a movie that will keep children entertained, even the tweens and teens, while also being a movie that parents will enjoy. It is a family-friendly movie that is packed with adventure.

Dot Conner: Webtective is a mystery movie that reminded me of a popular kid's spy movie. This movie is current with the times, showing the lead character on her computer doing a live video with her fans. The movie also touches upon the struggles of this age group, showing Dot being anxious about the first day of school. I love the school classroom scenes that show the struggles of kids trying to fit in.

I also loved that this movie included references to bible verses while not making it look like a religious movie. The cool part was seeing how the teens could reference the verses to the struggles they were facing, while helping the viewer understand how the bible verses can relate to them.

Philippians 4:13 ~ I can do all this through him who gives me strength

Teaching children about Jesus can be tough in a digital age. Children are used to seeing the world and learning through electronic devices. While some kids have parents who read to them with books, most children get their entertainment through videos. So having a movie that teaches kids about Jesus is a good thing, and it is even better when the movie can be enjoyed by adults.

When I was given the chance to watch The Light Of The World, I thought that it was going to be a typical children's movie that was geared toward younger kids, but this movie kept me engaged. It even helped me see bible verses in a better way and understanding.

At the end of the movie, I loved these words as they spoke to me in a new way. I knew that they would help young children, and even adults, understand more about Jesus.

~ His death is not the end; it is the beginning.

~ He did not come to defeat our enemies. He showed us how to love them.

~ He did not come to condemn us but to fill us with His light and lead us back to God

I really enjoyed it when John took his Dad's hands and helped him say the Salvation prayer of giving his life to Christ.

~ It starts with a prayer: Jesus, you died upon a cross and rose again to save the lost. Forgive me now of all my sins. Come be my Lord and friend. Change my life and make it new. Help me, Lord, to live for You.

It truly is a family movie that the whole family will love

A Week Away Musical Series is Perfect For Young Adults

A Week Away: The Series is A Fun Musical For Young Adults That Sheds Humor on Church Camp while also sharing a passionate story about a young man’s individual struggle to reconcile faith with his traumatic past.

Many thanks to Angel for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100%my own.

If you did not grow up in a family that went to church, it can be tough to start attending church as a teenager. It can be even tougher to understand those from the church when you come from a traumatic past.

The Series: A Week Away is a series that I immediately could relate to just by watching the first 5 minutes of the show. This series is about a young man, from a troubled family, who is invited to attend a church camp. The young man, who grew up in a family with alcoholic parents, thinks that the kids and leaders who attend the Christian camp are weird people. He also has a hard time accepting that God can be real.

My life story is similar to the main character in A Week Away

Like the main character in the series, I grew up in a family with an alcoholic dad. I also experienced the death of my brother at age 12. I simply grew up in a home where love was not present.

So when I was invited to a Young Life group in high school, I thought that these people were strange. I had a hard time accepting that they wanted to be my friends. I had a hard time accepting not only their unconditional love, but also the fact that there was a God out there who loved me. How can God be real in a cruel world?

About the Film A Week Away

THIS MUSICAL SERIES follows a group of teens as they embark on a summer at Camp Aweegaway, a Christian camp filled with adventure, friendships, and unexpected self-discovery.  It’s an expressive and resonant story about identity, trust, and the courage to face what’s within. A Week Away: The Series offers a tender space for those burdened by doubt and pain to explore the possibility of hope and the power of a found family.

The story follows a defiant foster teen who is dragged to church camp, determined to resist what he sees as the hollow promises of faith. But rejection gives way to introspection, and the walls he’s built begin to crack. As he discovers he’s not alone in the struggle against grief, anger, and the ache of belonging, he learns that healing can’t be forced— it must be chosen.

A Week Away: The Series is fun and engaging, safe for family viewing, and honors faith-based principles without being a ‘lesson in Christianity.’

A Fun Musical For Young Adults That Sheds Humor on Church Camp

For those who remember attending church camp, this is a series that you will enjoy watching. It may help you relive the fun of summer camp, or it may bring back memories of when you thought the leaders of church camp were weird people.

A Week Away: The Series had me reliving my teenage years, when I was struggling with doubt that there was true, unconditional love coming from people who wanted to share the love of God with someone, like me, who did not know what pure love is.

The music of this musical may be corny, but this musical brings humor to the faith struggle that some people can relate to when they first discovered church people. If you have been walking with Jesus for quite some time, this show will help you remember your journey that led you to saying "yes" to the Christian faith.
