Teaching children about Jesus can be tough in a digital age. Children are used to seeing the world and learning through electronic devices. While some kids have parents who read to them with books, most children get their entertainment through videos. So having a movie that teaches kids about Jesus is a good thing, and it is even better when the movie can be enjoyed by adults. 

When I was given the chance to watch The Light Of The World, I thought that it was going to be a typical children's movie that was geared toward younger kids, but this movie kept me engaged. It even helped me see bible verses in a better way and understanding. 

At the end of the movie, I loved these words as they spoke to me in a new way. I knew that they would help young children, and even adults, understand more about Jesus.

  ~ His death is not the end; it is the beginning.

  ~ He did not come to defeat our enemies. He showed us how to love them.

  ~ He did not come to condemn us but to fill us with His light and lead us back to God  

I really enjoyed it when John took his Dad's hands and helped him say the Salvation prayer of giving his life to Christ.

  ~ It starts with a prayer: Jesus, you died upon a cross and rose again to save the lost. Forgive me now of all my sins. Come be my Lord and friend. Change my life and make it new. Help me, Lord, to live for You.

It was his mother's love to find her child and many phone calls to find people who were willing to search the mountain. It was a community that came together to search for this 12-year-old boy.

My Review of The Movie

This was an emotional and intense movie to watch. It reminded me of a current television show that my husband likes to watch called Survivor. Watching what Donn had to endure in the wilderness was tough to watch. I was amazed at his strength to not give up. The movie showed actual movie footage and photos from the real-life rescue. I loved that the movie also had plenty of scenes of a much older Donn reflecting on his experience as well as parents talking about their memories.

A tough movie to watch

WHITE BIRD was a tough movie to watch. It was about Julian learning about kindness through his grandma. His grandma was a Jewish schoolgirl in France who lived during the time of WWII. The movie is about the story of how she escaped death. 

 Julian's grandma was in school when the Nazis came for the Jewish people. She was able to hide from the Nazis in the woods. It was a young schoolmate by the name of  Julian who risked his life and that of his family to help her. Julian hid her in his family's old barn for over a year. During this time, the two young classmates formed a friendship in a secret world that no one could know about. When Julian was killed by the Nazis, his parents continued to help her, even after the war ended.

 I really enjoyed watching My Christmas Hero. This was a movie filled with romance, comedy, and good values. If you love movies with love at first site, then you are going to love this movie.

 The movie My Christmas Hero starts off with a doctor at a military hospital entering a patient's room and becoming speechless when she sees her patient. The doctor tries to suppress her feelings, as she has a rule of never dating patients, but the military service member works his charm and gets her to agree to meet for hot chocolate. 

 The rest of the movie is all about these two actors becoming friends and helping other service members. The friendship keeps growing and a mission to find someone who knew her grandfather, before he was killed during a war, leads to so much more. You will have to watch the movie to see how it ends.

Divine Influence Is About The Dangers Of Social Media

It is easy to live for the likes, the shares, and the comments instead of truly living. We were not meant to do life alone and sometimes an online community is not enough.

 As the world of social media expands at a rapid pace. we can easily get caught up in a virtual world instead of participating in life. We get the highs of seeing our posts get likes and shares and believe that we are happy living our best life behind a computer screen. Even when we do leave home to do other activities, we may feel the need to still be connected to our virtual community. We may think that life on our phones and electric devices is all we need. 

 The screen life may make us feel unworthy or that we are not good enough. Some people may even feel they are better than other people, based on what they see on the computer. The online world of computers can be a good thing but it can also lead to one being a self-center person, always thinking about themsleves.

 I enjoyed watching this musical performance and seeing places in Italy that I may never have the opportunity to travel to. I love that this was an outdoor musical concert with such beautiful landscapes. I felt like I was in Italy. Andrea Bocelli has such a beautiful voice as well as the other performers that he sang with. My favorite song from the live performance was Amazing Grace and of course, I had to sing along.

 I love having a Pure Flix subscription as that means I can watch the best holiday movies. I recently had an opportunity to watch We Three Kings. This Christmas movie is based in the 1800s and tells the story of how this popular Christmas carol was written. It is a beautiful movie about how the hymn We Three Kings was introduced in a Christmas pageant with the help of an uncle and his nieces and nephew. 

We Three Kings synopsis: The Fay children can't wait for their Uncle Henry to arrive for Christmas. With the help of Uncle Henry's new song, "We Three Kings", the children learn truths about Jesus and the gifts that were given to Him.

  I remember singing the song We Three Kings, long ago, in school performances. Back then, not being a Christain, I really did not know much about the song other than the words. Since I did not attend church as a child, I certainly did not know who the three kings were or the meanings of the gifts that they brought to baby Jesus. The gifts that the three kings brought, gold, frankincense, and myrrh had little meaning to me as a young child. 

 Watching the movie We Three Kings with the family would help children understand more about the 3 gifts and why the kings gave them to baby Jesus. Even I learned more about each gift. I knew that frankincense and myrrh were perfumes but I learn that these fragrant perfumes were produced from the sap of trees.
