Most people know the Lord’s Prayer and can repeat the words. You may even know that the Lord’s Prayer is a foundational Christian prayer of petition and thanksgiving taught by Jesus to his disciples. If asked where in the bible, the Lord's Prayer is located, some people may know it appears in the New Testament in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke.

To refresh your memory, below is the most widely recited traditional version of the Lord's Prayer:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

This series completely changed how I hear the Lord’s Prayer

As a Christian, I have probably recited The Lord's Prayer more than 100 times. I also have a good understanding of why I say this prayer and how to apply it to my life. 

When I had an opportunity to review The Sacred Thread series, I was excited to watch this series on Angel.com. I wanted to know more about this foundational Christian prayer.

This series completely changed how I hear the Lord’s Prayer. The videos brought scripture to life in a powerful way. I loved seeing places in the Bible, and the visuals were amazing. I learned so much from the many historians and teachers who explained the meaning behind this scripture. These teachers helped me understand the historical and cultural world of Jesus. I even learned the meaning of the word "hallowed."

The Sacred Thread consists of 7 episodes, and each one is around 30 minutes long. Once I watched the first episode, I was eager to watch the next one. Thankful, I had a free afternoon to watch all 7 episodes.

 This is a great series to watch with your spouse, family, or Bible study group.

 I highly recommend joining the Angel Guild. This streaming platform is family-friendly and has a wide variety of films to watch. Some of the films that I am excited to watch this week are I Can Only Imagine and Animal Farm. My husband loves watching the comedy shows that feature Chris Clarke and Shayne Smith.

Watching Just One More Gave Me Inspiration

 The movie Just One More was one that I enjoyed. Watching it gave me a look into the life of someone who was struggling with addiction. This movie also reminded me of my past life before someone introduced me to Jesus. That was over 40 years ago. I thought about how tough things were after my brother died, and how I did not want to live. I thought about the dark days leading up to my giving it all to God. I thought about how God put people into my life to help me heal.

What Charles did to bring people to Christ looked so easy, and this is something that does not come easily to me. This movie gave me the inspiration that I needed to realize that I need to ask God to help me with praying with others.

 At the end of watching the movie, I realized that the title of the movie had several meanings. The addict says, "Just One More time of doing drugs," while Charles wanted to bring one more person to Jesus before he died.

Healing the Father Wound

 As a daughter of a father who was not present in my life, I can relate to this movie. While listening to the various ladies share their stories of their non-existent dads or abusive fathers, their words brought up a past life that I have put behind me. I heard myself saying out loud, “Yep, that was me, and I can relate to the Father Wound.”

The “father wound” shapes how daughters see themselves, love others, and relate to God. For me, my Father Wound, stirs up painful memories of emotional abuse and non-existent love from a father who was dealing with his own painful relationships. 

When I accepted Christ into my life, I was able to deal with my past and learn how to forgive my dad, but I still had a hard time grasping God as a loving father figure. I saw God as a powerful creator and healer, but never as someone who truly loved me as His daughter.  

Watching He Calls Me Daughter helped me realize that I am not alone and that there are many women out there struggling with seeing God as a father figure. This film brought clarity to my pain, while offering me hope for healing.

My takeaways from the movie He Calls Me Daughter

 As a daughter of a father who was not present in my life, I can relate to this movie. While listening to the various ladies share their stories of their non-exsistent dads or abusive fathers, their words brought up a past life that I have put behind me. I heard myself saying outloud, “Yep, that was me.”

 While watching this movie, it was hard to hold back the tears from the pain of my childhood. As I got further into this movie, I was able to praise God that He brought people into my life when I was a teenager. This movie helped me understand the moments that I allowed God into my life and how he brought me out of the pain from my childhood.

 While God brought me out of the pain, I still struggle with God as a father figure. I struggle with questions like - “Does God love me? Am I worthy of His love?

 I knew that I had to watch this movie. This movie helped me realize that I am not alone and that there are many women out there struggling with seeing God as a father figure. By the time I finished watching this movie, I wanted the healing that these ladies received.

True healing isn’t found in earthly relationships, but in a relationship with our heavenly Father.

I Can Only Imagine 2 In Theaters February 20th

Some stories deserve an encore. I Can Only Imagine 2 will be in theaters on February 20th to continue the story behind the song I Can Only Imagine. 

 I Can Only Imagine is a powerful song that speaks to the soul. This song brings back so many memories for me. It is a powerful worship song that has brought me through some tough times. 

 I can remember the first time I heard this song played at a funeral of a young boy who committed suicide. Most recently, this song was played at my father-in-law's funeral. It is a song that gives me hope about the day that I will get to meet my creator and how glorious it will be.

The first movie ~ I Can Only Imagine, was about the inspiring and unknown true story behind MercyMe's beloved, chart-topping song. It was a powerful movie that I could relate to and brought tears to my eyes. Like Bart Milard, I grew up with abuse. I also faced severe depression with suicidal thoughts after my older brother was killed. I am only alive today, thanks to others telling me about the saving grace of God.

When I found out that Kingdom Story Company was continuing the story with the movie, I Can Only Imagine 2, I was excited. I was even more excited when I received a screener link to watch the movie, and was able to watch the movie with my family. 

 I Can Only Imagine 2 is just as powerful as the original movie. It is based on the true story of MercyMe’s Bart Millard as he continues his life with the band and a family. Like the first movie, it is filled with a powerful story. You need to see the movie!

 When it comes to entertainment for children, specifically ages 8-12.there is a firehouse of media coming at them. From online videos to shows on streaming platforms, most of the entertainment that these kids are watching may not be appropriate for them.

 That is what the makers of Dot Conner: Webtective are trying to combat. They are creating content that is exciting to watch and fun for the whole family. This is a mystery adventure movie that you need to watch.

 I had the opportunity to watch this movie, and I enjoyed watching it. This was a movie that is perfect for the whole family to watch. It is a movie that will keep children entertained, even the tweens and teens, while also being a movie that parents will enjoy. It is a family-friendly movie that is packed with adventure.

Dot Conner: Webtective is a mystery movie that reminded me of a popular kid's spy movie. This movie is current with the times, showing the lead character on her computer doing a live video with her fans. The movie also touches upon the struggles of this age group, showing Dot being anxious about the first day of school. I love the school classroom scenes that show the struggles of kids trying to fit in.

 I also loved that this movie included references to bible verses while not making it look like a religious movie. The cool part was seeing how the teens could reference the verses to the struggles they were facing, while helping the viewer understand how the bible verses can relate to them.

This is an action-packed movie filled with mystery that the whole family will enjoy watching. It is a perfect movie for family movie night.

Teaching children about Jesus can be tough in a digital age. Children are used to seeing the world and learning through electronic devices. While some kids have parents who read to them with books, most children get their entertainment through videos. So having a movie that teaches kids about Jesus is a good thing, and it is even better when the movie can be enjoyed by adults. 

When I was given the chance to watch The Light Of The World, I thought that it was going to be a typical children's movie that was geared toward younger kids, but this movie kept me engaged. It even helped me see bible verses in a better way and understanding. 

At the end of the movie, I loved these words as they spoke to me in a new way. I knew that they would help young children, and even adults, understand more about Jesus.

  ~ His death is not the end; it is the beginning.

  ~ He did not come to defeat our enemies. He showed us how to love them.

  ~ He did not come to condemn us but to fill us with His light and lead us back to God  

I really enjoyed it when John took his Dad's hands and helped him say the Salvation prayer of giving his life to Christ.

  ~ It starts with a prayer: Jesus, you died upon a cross and rose again to save the lost. Forgive me now of all my sins. Come be my Lord and friend. Change my life and make it new. Help me, Lord, to live for You.

It truly is a family movie that the whole family will love

All he needs to do is keep practicing his swing, and he plans on doing that with his free time. Then life happens, and his mom announces she got a job.

Now that Jeremy's mom is working, he is responsible for his autistic younger brother. That means he no longer has the time to devote to golf. Jeremy thinks that he has to give up his dream. Then he is given some wisdom and realizes that by embracing his brother's talents, he can bring his brother with him to the golf course. Jeremy's brother becomes his caddy and helps his big brother on the golf course.

A Feel-Good Movie

 I had an opportunity to watch this movie as I was on a long road trip to take my son to college. It brought back memories of watching my own son chase his dreams of attending a college that was out of his price range. This college was mostly for STEM majors. My son applied for a scholarship that would completely pay for his college. It was a lengthy process that started with 4000 applicants. From the 4000, it was narrowed down to 400, with 230 being selected for a full-ride scholarship. 

 Like the movie, my son had tough decisions to make. He had to have backup plans in case he did not get the scholarship. Through the process, my son had his doubts about whether he was good enough to attend this school. My son also questioned his field selection. 

 As a mom, it was hard to let my son go through this. I wanted to make his choices for him. The one thing I could do was pray for my son and enlist others to pray. When my son got the notification that he won, I was overwhelmed. Our prayers had been answered in a mighty way. When I shared the news with a friend, who was a new believer, with joy she replied, "I prayed for this!"

 I recently discovered a new series on Angel.com, and I have been binge-watching the Testament. I have watched the first 4 of 8 episodes of season one, all in one night. I have 4 more episodes to watch. I will most likely stay up late to watch the last four shows. I'm loving my Angel Studios Angel Guild Membership! Just started checking out Testament Series! Soooo good! 

 This show takes the book of Acts and retells it in a modern way. If I had to guess the year, I would say that the retelling of this bible chapter is happening in the 21st century. The producers of this show want the viewers to reimagine what the followers of Jesus would be like in a modern era. I am thinking that they are trying to reach a younger audience with what it means to truly follow Jesus.

The First Episode Starts With Pentecost

The first episode begins on the day of Pentecost, with a mysterious wind that shakes up Stephen's home and blows out a candle on his dinner table. From there it goes to Stephen going outside to investigate what just happened. From there, we are introduced to the 12 disciples, all in an alternate-modern era.

Each of the 4 episodes that I watched retold the stories in the bible chapter of Acts, all with a modern twist. While the characters and the setting of the show were modernized, the story of Acts was not changed. 

Watching the story of what happened 30 days after Jesus died in a modern world gave me a new perspective on what it was like to be a follower of Christ. I like the modern era spin on the stories from Acts. From Barnabas’ gift of a warehouse to the characters drinking bottles of water, it gives the bible a new perspective.

Episode 4 ~ The story of Ananias and Sapphira

 One story in the show that really gave me a new perspective was the story of Ananias and Sapphira. Episode 4 shows the couple selling their property and making a bigger profit than expected. Sapphira is shown at the bank with one of the 2 briefcases of money that was made from the sale. She was opening up a private account. 

 Later that day, Sapphira meets with Peter, who asks if she and Ananias gave all the money from the property sale to the group. Peter reminds her that the Holy Spirit is in the room and that her husband died after he asked him the same question. She replies yes and dies on the spot.

Why I like being an Angel Insider

The Angel streaming platform has a huge variety of entertainment that my family enjoys watching. My husband and I love watching comedy specials that feature our favorite comedians like Brad Upton and Alex Velluto. We also enjoy watching movies like The Blind and I Can Only Imagine.
