 No one wants to discuss death but most people are curious about what happens after we die. We want to know if there is a life after death. We want to know what happens when we die.

As I get older, I realize that my life is getting shorter and that one day I will face death. I do my best to not think about death. I think seeing my mom getting older has made me think about death more. While I have surrendered my life to Christ and have the promise of going to heaven, it is still hard to think about death.

 I know that I am not alone in my thoughts about death. Many people don't want to face the truth that death will happen to them. So when I discovered a movie that was about what happens after we die, I had to know more about this movie called After Death.

To hear stories of those who died gives me hope

 Watching this movie to me was so interesting. I loved hearing the stories of people who died. Hearing about their experiences of leaving their body was so amazing. These people had, according to doctors, died, and they came back to life. The people in the movie tell their stories about what they experienced when they died.

Most of them were able to see their dead body while floating above their body. Just hearing their testimonies about what they experienced after they died gave me hope about their being life after death. This is a movie that you need to watch!

 Through the struggle of losing her husband, a woman and her son become friends with a couple of homeless people. This helps them learn about the needs of the homeless. They also learn to see beyond their problems and realize that a simple act of kindness of giving a blanket to someone can go a lot further when given with kindness and compassion.

With the help of her son, the church, and the community, they start collecting blankets. They start a mission to keep the homeless warm. This is what led to the organization called Philip's Wish, an organization that was founded by a little boy who saw a need in the world and decided to do something about it.

This is a movie that I enjoyed watching. I liked that it was based on a true story. This movie gave me a glimpse of what life was like during the 1960's Civil Rights movement. This faith-based movie is one that the whole family can enjoy. I encourage you to watch this movie with your kids as it will help them learn about how people of color were treated in the 60's. This movie will open up plenty of discussions about hate, love, and healing.  

 The Movie Paul's Promise teaches that there healing through the power of God. This movie shows how the love of a mother and prayer can be a powerful thing to change the heart of a person. I love this line from the trailer ~ "God is going to change him, don't you dare give up on him!" Moms, you won’t want to miss this encouraging film about the power of a praying mama! Paul's Promise will be in theaters on 10/21/2022!

Overcomer Movie Is A Movie That I Want To See

 I think most of us struggle with identity, asking the question, "who am I?" or "who is God?" I know these are questions that I think about a lot and the movie Overcomer is one that I can relate to. It is also a movie that I am excited to see. I saw the previews for Overcomer a couple of months ago and it drew my attention right away for many reasons. The movie uses a sport that I enjoy and one that my older boys have participated in high school. My middle son is currently on the cross-country team at the Merchant Marine Academy. Then the producers throw in another issue that I can relate to, running with asthma, and this movie gets me.

  A week does not go by without me thinking about my identity and I always think of how God has given me the job of raising my boys to become men of God and to succeed in their paths of lives. Raising kids can be like cross-country and so can choosing to follow what God wants us to do. I really like how Alex Kendrick, the co-writer and director of the movie Overcomer, compares cross-country to our life.

“Cross country is a very difficult sport. From the time you start, you do not stop or pause until you cross the finish line. And in many regards, that’s like our life; that’s our journey of faith,” said Alex Kendrick

The movie Overcomer is about helping people discover their identity. I love that this movie shows that through scripture we can answer the questions of 'Who is God?’, and ‘Who am I?’

 When a person discovers who they are in Christ, it opens up an understanding of how they can live that out in a daily basis in what they do in their relationships with others,” said Stephen Kendrick  (producer and co-writer.)

 My husband and I have enjoyed the other movies that the Kendrick brothers have written: FACING THE GIANTS, FIREPROOF, COURAGEOUS, and WAR ROOM so we are excited to see this movie. This will be a movie that I will be bringing my younger boys with as this is a family film that will help them to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. The older of the two boys is also a runner while the younger one struggles with asthma so these two common things may help them learn even more from the movie.
