Many thanks to WIT PR for providing a sample of the product for this review. My opinions are 100% my own.

If you like adventure movies that are based on true stories, you will want to see Lost On a Mountain in Maine.  Lost on a Mountain in Maine is based on the book of the same name, this film tells the inspiring story of a 12-year-old boy, who was separated from his family while on a hike with his father in the backwoods of Maine. It was a fast-moving storm that caused him to be separated from his father and twin brother. Donn had to fight to stay alive during his nine-day adventure of being lost in the backwoods of Maine.

The incredible true story based on the bestselling book IN THEATERS, NOVEMBER 1ST

Lost on a Mountain is based on the true account of a boy's harrowing journey through the vast wilderness of the Katahdin Mountains. This family-friendly movie is a gripping survival story for all ages. This event happened in the year 1939.

About The Movie Lost on a Mountain

Donn was a strong-willed child who was determined to climb to the top of the mountain, despite his father saying the weather was not favorable. Donn was mad at his father, for never being there for him, due to traveling for work and was determined to show his dad that he was a man.

It was Donn's stubbornness and the survival skills that his father taught him, that allowed him to survive in the wilderness. It was his mother's love to find her child and many phone calls to find people who were willing to search the mountain. It was a community that came together to search for this 12-year-old boy.

Donn’s disappearance captured national headlines and sparked a massive search effort attracting hundreds of volunteers, including his own father.

Lost on a Mountain is produced by Sylvester Stallone and stars Luke David Blumm, Paul Sparks, Caitlin FitzGerald, Ethan Slater, and Griffin Wallace Henkel.

My Review of The Movie

This was an emotional and intense movie to watch. It reminded me of a current television show that my husband likes to watch called Survivor. Watching what Donn had to endure in the wilderness was tough to watch. I was amazed at his strength to not give up. The movie showed actual movie footage and photos from the real-life rescue. I loved that the movie also had plenty of scenes of a much older Donn reflecting on his experience as well as parents talking about their memories.

Watch this moving family film in theaters starting November 1st!

I probably could survive being lost in the mountains. I live in the country and my dad taught me how to survive if I ever got lost in the woods or mountains.

Although I can't predict the unpredictable, I am going to lean towards yes. Afterall, a positive outlook would be the first step I would take to survive.
