I received samples of the following toys to facilitate this post.

Having two boys around the same age has its advantages and disadvantages. These both can come into play when it comes to birthday parties. Since both boys have similar interests buying birthday gifts for all the birthday parties that they get invited to is easy. I know that a gift that was a huge hit for one birthday child will most likely be the same for the next birthday. The disadvantage of having two boys who are a year apart is all these birthday invitations can add up in the money department. That being said, I try to purchase birthday gifts that have the wow factor without costing that much. I like to keep the price of a birthday gift under thirty dollars. So when I discover a birthday gift that excites the birthday child for a good deal, I like to share it with my friends.

The best birthday gifts for under $20
I have a list of some awesome birthday presents that I know you will want to put on your list or purchase for the birthday gift closet. These are birthday toys that my boys had a blast playing with. This toys for kids also made my boys go "wow!" when they received them. My boys are tweens as they are 11 and 12 years old so these are the best birthday gifts for tween boys but they can also make great gifts for girls, younger kids, and other kids. So take a look at some great birthday gift suggestions. If you are looking for birthday gifts for babies and toddlers, check out some great ideas HERE. These sandbox toys also make great gifts for summer birthdays.

Dart Blasters
My boys are huge into dart blasters are have a huge collection of them. My boys, even the teen, love having dart blaster wars and I find those foam darts all over my house, sometimes in the weirdest places. I have even found foam darts in my bathroom and pockets of my clothes. So I know that buying a dart blaster for a birthday gift for a birthday party is always a great idea as according to my boys, you can never have enough dart blasters.

Where is the strangest place you have found a foam dart?

My boys received a new dart blaster from Buzz Bee Toys and had a blast playing with it. The Adventure Force Night Attack makes the best birthday party gift and it is priced way under $30! This dart blaster is the perfect birthday gift for any dart blaster fan or friend who likes to get outdoors! This adventure toy has a light that attaches to the rail and operates with ease, this unique dart blaster allows for play long into the night. My boys loved that the dart blaster has a 100-foot launch distance and awesome speed. The light allows for a fun nighttime dart blaster game so can easily spot their target. This awesome birthday toy is priced under $10, designed for ages 8 and up, and is available at Walmart.

Dart Blaster Tactical Vest Kit
Since the above gift is so awesomely priced, the dart blaster tactical vest set is a perfect gift to pair with a dart blaster. This awesome dart blaster tactical vest set would make any birthday boy or girl jump for joy. This gift set includes a tactical vest that holds all those foam darts, safety glasses, a fun skull tactical mask, plenty of refill bullets, and more. It is the perfect accessory for all dart blasters and is compatible with most major brands. This adjustable vest lets kids carry along extra firepower so they can have the ultimate dart blaster tournament with their friends. My boys were super excited when this toy arrived at our house. They had a blast loading up the tactical vest with all their dart blaster foam darts and reload clips. My older son thought that the skull mask would be great to wear on a cold winter day.

Once my boys loaded up the vest with all their ammo and firepower, they grabbed their dart blasters and the fun began. Before I knew it there were foam darts all over my house. The safety glasses reminded me of when the boys were little and would play dart blasters with my older son. My older son would make the boys wear safety goggles as he was tired of being blamed for making them cry, as he shot the foam darts at them. That way when the younger boys got a foam dart near their face, the safety goggles would keep them safe and himself out of trouble. I think the older son also made the younger boys wear helmets and knee pads during those wild dart blaster games. Oh, the joy of boys! This Tactical Vest Kit comes in blue, pink and one to hold mega foam darts. The best part of this set that it includes 60 foam darts for plenty of fun. This dart blaster tactical kit is available at Amazon and is recommended for ages 7 and up. You will love that it is priced under $20!

 Ice cream stacking game
Get the birthday kid off the electronic devices and get them playing a fun summer game! When you think of summer, you think of ice cream. The Oops Scoops is a sweet new ice cream stacking game that will keep kids busy with fun and makes a great birthday gift. This colorful fun game includes an ice cream cone, plenty of ice cream scoops and an ice cream scooper. I just loved all the different colors that the plastic ice cream scoops came in. The idea of the game is to see who can stack the most ice cream scoops on the cone before it topples over. Sounds easy? That's what my boys thought when they started to play this game, that was until the ice cream cone began to shake. My boys had so much fun trying to see who could stack the most ice cream until the shaking cone went "Oops" and all the ice cream went down. I loved that this game is made with durable plastic so it will last a long time and there are no small pieces to get lost.

The Oops Scoop game can be played alone or with up to 4 players. It includes 12 scoops of colorful ice cream, a vibrating ice cream cone, a stand to hold the cone, and an ice cream scoop that has a built-in spinner. This fun year-round game will leave kids shivering as they compete to see who can stack the most ice cream before the tower topples over. This device free game is made for ages 4 and up, priced under $20, and can be purchased at Target.

Learn STEM with the Squishy Human Body
Kids will love to get up-close and personal with the gooey world of anatomy. This awesome realistic human body model allows kids to see and touch squishy body organs and learn about how their body works. This 12" body model reminds me of the life-size skeleton that was in my biology class in high school. It also reminds me of that operating game that I played as a kid but this body model will not buzz when kids take out its organs. Kids can discover what is inside their body by using the included forceps and tweezers to remove things like the heart, brain, intestines, and more. This unique set comes with a 24-page illustrated anatomy book that follows a piece of pizza as it travels through the systems of the human body. The birthday friend will learn STEM with a focus on anatomy and biology and the parents will thank you for a great educational gift. This human body model is a realistic anatomical model that will add excitement to helping kids learn about the human body. My boys had tons of fun pulling out all the body parts and then putting them back into the body. They were amazed at how long their intestines really are. This 3-Dimensional Puzzle includes a Squishy Human Body, 9 vital squishy organs, 12 plastic bones and muscles, forceps, tweezers, and an Organ-izer mat. It is designed for ages 8 and up, is priced under $20, and can be purchased at Amazon.

 The Root Beer Float Challenge

This tasty new game, which arrives in Target Stores and online everywhere this month, uses a unique gameplay strategy as players look to win the game by completing a series of solo, head-to-head and cooperative challenges using the ingredients of a Root Beer Float. The Root Beer Float Challenge Game arrives in an oversized tin root beer can package and contains 120 Challenge Cards, 80 Ingredient Cards, 1 Ice Cream Ball, 2 replica Cherries, 4 Straws, and 1 Challenge Die.

To play The Root Beer Float Challenge, 2-8 players ages 8 and up take turns competing in various Solo, Cooperative, and Head-to-Head challenges. If you complete the challenge successfully, you earn an Ingredient card. But if you fail the challenge, your float will be sunk until your next challenge is achieved. The object of the game is to be the first player to build a complete Root Beer Float (root beer, ice cream, cherry, and straw) and be named The Root Beer Float Challenge Champion! My boys had a blast playing this active game and found the challenges a test of their skills. My boys played this game more than once on the day that they received it. I love that the game stores in the big durable root beer can so pieces will not get lost. You can find this game at Amazon for $19.99

The dart blaster game reminds me of paint balling. I guess you can call it the adult version of dart blasters. I like the squishy human body game as it offers kids the opportunity to learn biology.

Each gift will certainly give the child only positive emotions. However, we should choose it according to the preferences and interests of the boy.
