Nothing says 'I love you' like chocolate and strawberries! For Valentine's Day, make this adorable dessert in minutes using pita bread.
When you think of chocolate and strawberries, you think of sweet strawberries dipped in chocolate. Chocolate and strawberries are a wonderful sweet treat for Valentine's Day. The strawberries make this sweet treat a healthy dessert that is sure to please most anyone. If you have ever made homemade chocolate-dipped strawberries, then you understand why stores charge so much for this delicious chocolate fruit dessert.
I think that I made homemade chocolate strawberries once and it took a long time. It also was a messy process that left chocolate all over the kitchen. While the strawberries in chocolate were delicious, mine was an ugly mess that I felt embarrassed to serve to my family. I am glad that my family did not complain about the chocolate fruit dessert that I served to them on Valentine's Day.
Skip the mess and make a Chocolate Strawberry Pita Dessert
So this Valentine's Day, skip the mess and the expensive cost at the grocery store and instead make a delicious Chocolate Strawberry Pita Dessert. This Chocolate Strawberry Pita Dessert is not only super easy to make but it is a healthier version of traditional chocolate-dipped strawberries. A few simple ingredients are all it takes to make a delicious sweet treat that your family will love for a Valentine's dessert.
I discovered this recipe for Chocolate Strawberry Pita Dessert on a Family Bakery website. This bakery is known for its delicious vegan flatbreads. I featured the yummy flatbreads when I made my Dairy-Free Sunflower Seed Cream Cheese recipe. I love using Atoria's vegan flatbreads and naan for tasty appetizers and sandwiches. It is easy to whip up healthy bites and nibbles in minutes using these healthy packages of breads.

11 Healthy Products That You Need To Add To Your List
Ingredients needed
+ Atoria’s Family Bakery Pita
+ Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
+ Strawberries
+ Powder Sugar
I already had the powder sugar and chocolate spread at home so all I needed was some fresh strawberries and the pita bread. I headed to my local Sprouts store for those items. While I had no problem finding fresh strawberries, I was not able to find the Atoria’s Family Bakery Pita. So I grabbed a package of Atoria’s Family Bakery flatbread as a delicious substitute for the pita bread. Since the flatbread sheets are long, I decided to cut the bread into the shape of a heart.
Make it dairy-free
The original recipe called for chocolate hazelnut spread which contains milk. So I am glad that I discovered healthier dark chocolate spread that is not only dairy-free but nut-free and gluten-free. This chocolate spread from Lekkco tastes so good and is loaded with chocolate flavor.
Then the fun began with having my boys cooking with me in the kitchen. We each grabbed a slice of the flatbread a clean pair of scissors. It was simple to cut the flatbread into the shape of a heart. Then everyone grabbed a big spoonful of the chocolate spread and spread it all over the bread.
Of course, we had to lick the spoon once we were done spreading the chocolate. Then I instructed my boys to grab some fresh strawberries and slice them into thin slices. My boys had a blast placing the strawberry slices on top of the chocolate spread.
I then instructed the boys to grab the fine mesh strainer for the powder sugar dusting. I like when I can use other items in my kitchen for kitchen tools. I am sure that they sell a tool for powder sugar dusting but I see no need for one in my kitchen. I had to tell the boys to place the fine mesh strainer over their chocolate dessert and use a small amount of powder sugar. I certainly did not want a cloud of powder sugar to clean up.
The original recipe called for fresh mint but I decided not to use that on my dessert. I don't care for a mint taste with fruit but if you do then chop up some fresh mint and sprinkle it on your chocolate fruit dessert.
So Pretty & So Delicious
The Chocolate Strawberry Pita Dessert was so easy and fun to make. The best part was eating them. This dessert was so delicious and loaded with chocolate flavor. The fresh strawberries made it taste like chocolate-dipped strawberries. Since this dessert is easy to make and has healthy fruit, my boys can enjoy this for breakfast.
