My Favorite Garden Finds For Summer

Summer is my favorite season of the year. I just love the warmer weather and being able to wear shorts. The best part of summer is growing food in my garden! Check out my favorite garden finds that I discovered.

Who here is a fan of summer? Who gets excited about growing food in a garden? I raised my hand for both questions as I love summer and gardening. Maintaining a backyard garden is hard work but it is so worth it. I just love that I have plenty of fresh organic vegetables and fruits to eat.

There is just something about planting seeds and seeing them turn into food. I am that person who can't wait for morning so I can check on my plants in my swingset garden. The first thing that I do in the morning after I exercise at the gym is head outside to my garden. I water all my plants, from tomatoes and greens to watermelons and cucumbers. I get so excited when the garden plants have signs of food growing on them as that means they are closer to being ready for harvesting.

I am obsessed with gardening

Three years ago, I started my first garden and I have learned to love growing food. Seeing my hard work turn into healthy food that I can eat is pretty amazing. Having a garden in my backyard also saves me money, especially as food costs continue to go up.

This year I have expanded my garden and I have purchased some new garden items. A couple of my garden purchases will help me to grow more veggies and other items will help me with working in the garden. These are garden goodies that you will want to learn about as you will want to buy them. So keep reading to discover my favorite new garden buys.

1. Indoor Garden Veggie Grower

The garden season is way too short for me. I want to pick fresh beet greens year-round but that just does not happen. It seems that by the time my garden plants give me food, fall is right around the corner. So I decided to purchase an indoor garden that allows me to grow lettuce, kale, and herbs 365 days a year.

I bought an Aerogarden Hydroponic Indoor Garden for indoor vegetable growing. This indoor garden is so easy to use. All I had to do was fill the garden unit up with water and add the seed pods along with the included plant food. This garden item is practically maintenance-free!

The Aerogarden has a grow light to help the plants grow and reminder lights to help you remember to add water and plant food about once every 2 weeks. I am growing lettuce and kale in my Aerogarden. The plants sprouted in 3 days and they were ready to eat in 2 weeks! The best part is after I cut off some fresh kale to eat, the plants grow more.

2. Garden Tower

I was looking for a way to add more garden space to my garden without having to dig out a space in my yard. I looked into container gardening as I way to grow vegetables in my yard and I discovered this amazing garden container that can grow 50 plants at a time! I knew that I had to buy it.

I discovered the Garden Tower and I have officially crossed to a plant lady! This Advanced Vertical Garden Planter is going to help me take my gardening skills to the next level. The Garden Tower is a composting vertical planter that combines the benefits of composting with growing plants.

The Garden Tower is a garden with a built-in composter! This Tower garden will help turn your food scraps into organic fertilizer that feeds your plants. This unique garden system has a chamber where you add worms and then they will transform the kitchen scraps into food for your plants to help you grow healthier bigger organic plants. Bigger plants mean more nutritious food to eat.

3. Comfortable Garden Shoes

I wanted some new shoes to wear while working in the garden as my sandals were not working. My feet were getting dirty and I needed some waterproof garden shoes that kept my feet clean.

I discovered some cute closed-back clogs that had an awesome price! While these shoes are made for medical professionals, I knew that they would work for gardening. The shoes are so comfortable and just love the fun design on them. These shoes are made with plastic materials so I can get them wet. Plus they are super easy to put on. I keep the Anywear By Cherokee Closed Back Plastic Clogs by my backdoor so I can wear them while I work in the garden. These clogs come in many different colors and patterns.

The shoes are available at Medical Scrubs Collection. Medical Scrubs Collection offers a fantastic selection in all sizes at the lowest possible prices.

4. Moisturizing Hair Oil

Working outside in the hot sun along with the wind can do a number on my hair. The summer heat tends to dry my hair out and it screams for moisture. So I needed to find a hair product to give my dry hair some intense moisturizing.

The Mayraki Ultimate Botanical Moisturizing Hair Oil was the perfect product for my hair. This moisturizing hair oil is infused with organic botanicals and natural oils to restore and nourish hair from root to tip. It contains a blend of nourishing oils, including argan oil, jojoba oil, and castor oil, which help strengthen hair, reduce breakage, and promote healthy hair growth. The botanical extracts in this oil, including chamomile and lavender, help soothe the scalp and promote relaxation. My hair feels so soft after I use this hair oil.

5. Green House

I added a greenhouse to my garden last year and it was the best purchase that I made for gardening. This greenhouse survived the harsh weather of the desert and I was able to use it another year. Using a greenhouse for my garden has had many benefits. I was able to start my garden sooner as the greenhouse created a warmer space for the garden seeds and garden plants. Keeping the garden soil covered with a greenhouse also kept the birds away from the vegetable seeds. Last year the birds ate my seeds shortly after I planted them

This greenhouse is super affordable and has many other garden benefits. Check out my full review of my backyard greenhouse to discover all the garden benefits of using a greenhouse.

6. Live Worms

My Garden Tower required worms for the composting feature to work. So, I purchased a bag of Live Red Wiggler Worms for Vermiculture & Composting online. This was my first online worm purchase for my garden. I had no idea that you could even buy worms online.

The 100 worms came in a cloth drawstring bag filled with dirt. When I opened up the bag, the worms looked dead but once I added water to the dirt, the worms started to wake up. Worms are great for composting as they help turn the food scraps from your compost bucket into nutrient-rich food for your plants.
