My Favorite Travel Items For A Hawaii Trip

I am beyond excited that I am traveling to Hawaii next month. Hawaii has been one of my dream vacation spots that I wanted to visit. It is finally happening and I can't wait to visit the Islands of Hawaii. Keep reading to see some of my favorite travel items for my Hawaiian vacation.

For the longest time, I have wanted to take a vacation to Hawaii but for many reasons, it wasn't an option for a vacation. The main reason was, of course, the money as a Hawaii vacation is expensive. Another reason that my trip to Hawaii was delayed as I was busy raising kids.

Now that my youngest 2 boys are teenagers and we have more money, my husband and I are traveling to Hawaii. The boys will be in school and are old enough to stay home by themselves. I am also thankful for many neighbors who will be there for my boys as well as my older daughter.

Favorite Travel Items For Hawaii Trip

I am a planner and I have already started my packing list for my Hawaii trip. Traveling with food allergies, means that I have a long packing list. I am thankful that we are traveling on Southwest. I do love that I can check two free bags. Since I have the Southwest Rewards card, I was able to earn free flights to Hawaii. If you get approved for the Southwest Rewards Credit card, you will receive 50,000 points. That can be redeemed for about $800 in free flights.

Since I am traveling to a tropical island, I have some new items that I added to my packing list and I am excited to tell you about some of my favorite travel items.

Sash Bag ~ A travel bag is a must-have travel item for any trip, especially if it involves traveling by plane. The Sash Bag is a ten-pocket wonder bag that will revolutionize your life. This purse helps you organize all your travel necessities. This wonderful purse has 10 pockets and holds everything that you may need for the airport and beyond.

I love how it makes everything so accessible. Each pocket on the Sash Bag has compartments to hold items like passports, credit cards, hand sanitizer, and more. There is even a secret cash compartment in the bag. This purse even has plenty of room for my epi-pens and inhalers. The best part about the Sash Bag is how stylish it looks with any outfit. This bag comes in so many beautiful colors. Trust me you will have a hard time deciding on which Sash Bag to buy.

Earth Mama Organics Mineral Sunscreen ~ A trip to Hawaii requires plenty of Hawiaan Reef-safe mineral sunscreen. Hawaii has banned the sale of sunscreens that are not mineral-based as a way to protect the reef ecosystems and that makes me happy. Regular chemical crap sunscreen causes me to have an asthma attack so I love that people will be wearing mineral-based sun protection.

I will be packing Earth Mama Lady Face® Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Face Stick in my travel bag. This SPF 40 non-nano sunscreen is available in light/medium and medium/dark tints so you won't be sporting the white ghost look that most mineral sunscreens offer. The active ingredient in the sunscreen is zinc oxide and the inactive ingredients are all natural skin-loving ingredients like organic shea butter and cocoa butter.

You will love that this water-resistant broad-spectrum sunscreen contains no parabens, artificial fragrances, or artificial preservatives. It also will not dry out your skin as it contains ingredients that nourish your skin.

Earth Mama Organics Baby Face Nose & Cheek Balm ~ If my skin gets too much sun, I will be packing a wonderful balm to soothe the after-sun skin. No matter how faithful one is about applying sunscreen, there is always that one spot on your skin that you miss. Sunburned skin happens when you are having fun on the ocean beach.

Earth Mama Organics Baby Face Nose & Cheek Balm can help soothe “angry” after-sun skin. This organic face moisturizer balm does not contain any petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial preservatives, or fragrances. The moisture balm contains calendula coconut balm and is safe for the skin. Since it is made for babies, it can be slathered around the mouth and eyes with no worries of toxic ingredients.

Earth Mama’s Castile Wash ~ Since I have sensitive skin and fragrance sensitivities, I always pack my personal products and never use the free hotel soap. I don't even let my husband use the hotel shampoo or body wash as the fragrance in those bothers my asthma.

So I will be packing in my suitcase Earth Mama’s Sweet Orange Castile Baby Wash. This foaming hand soap is made with organic herbs and oils and smells so good! Earth Mama Sweet Orange Baby Wash is made without artificial fragrance, preservatives, Triclosan, phthalates, and sulfates. I love that it has a pump on the container, as that makes it easy to use for washing my hands. This Castile wash also does a great job of washing off the mineral sunscreen.

Sparoom Hydrating Hand Sanitizer ~ One needs to be safe when traveling and I always pack natural hand sanitizer in my carry-on bag. While I wash my hands often, I still may need to use hand sanitizer in places like in the airport security line and on the plane. I sure don't want my trip to Hawaii ruined by the germs that cause a stomach bug or a cold.

I will be packing Sparoom Hydrating Hand Sanitizer. This hand sanitizer does not contain ingredients like chemical fragrance which triggers my asthma. The travel hand sanitizer is 62% Alcohol with Aloe Vera & Essential Oils. It has a nice lemon scent that is from natural essential oils. I love the small size compact size of the hand sanitizer and it fits perfectly in my Sash bag.

Gonex Compression Packing Cubes ~ Packing cubes are a must-have travel product for any trip as they help you with organizing your suitcase. The best packing cubes are compression packing cubes as they give you more space in your suitcase.

Gonex Compression Packing Cubes are pretty amazing as they compress your clothes, like those space-saving bags, so you have more space in your luggage. To see how much space the compression cubes give you, I placed similar items into both the traditional packing cubes and the compression packing cubes. Just look at the side-by-side comparison of both types of packing cubes.

I used the compression packing cubes back in May when I went to the Snack & Sweets Expo and you can read my Gonex Packing Cubes review here. Gonex Compression Packing Cubes are available in many colors and sizes. They are a must-have travel product. Use code GOSAVE15 to save 15% on Gonex Packing Cubes.

FreezeDried Strawberry Energy Bites ~ When I travel, I always bring dried or fresh fruit with me as it makes great traveling snacks and I like to eat fruit for breakfast. Since Hawaii does not allow you to bring fresh fruit into their island, I will be packing some freeze-dried strawberries.

FreezeDried Strawberry Energy Bites will serve a dual purpose for my trip as they contain caffeine. I always eat an energy bar with caffeine before I exercise in the morning, so these freeze-dried strawberry bites will be great before the gym. These delicious bites contain 100% strawberries and natural caffeine with no artificial ingredients.

Regular Girl Fiber ~ Traveling can mess with your regularity and cause constipation along with other stomach issues. While I do my best to eat plenty of fiber, sometimes that is not enough. Sitting on a plane for several hours and the long hours in the airport can do a number on your potty habits.

So I always pack Regular Girl for my vacations. I also take this wonderful probiotic fiber supplement on the morning of my trip. This tasteless powder mixes into any liquid. My favorite way to enjoy the benefits of Regular Girl is in my oatmeal or coffee. Regular Girl helps keep me regular and it helps me avoid being constipated. Flight attendants love Regular Girl. P.S guys can use it too.

Nugo Dark Chocolate Bars ~ These delicious dark chocolate bars are my favorite travel snacks. Airport food is expensive and unhealthy. The food at the airport also can be a nightmare for someone with food allergies. I can't chance eating the food at the airport as I don't want to have a food allergy reaction while on the plane.  So I always pack plenty of healthy snacks in my carry-on bag.

Nugo Dark chocolate protein bars come in a variety of delicious flavors. These bars are made with real dark chocolate and are gluten-free. Yes, those are gluten-free pretzels! They are also made with plant-based ingredients. Nugo bars are loaded with protein and are so satisfying. One bar keeps me full for hours. Want to try Nugo Bars. Click on the link and get a variety box of 12 full-size bars for $15 + free shippinghttps://nugonutrition.com/momknowsbest

Nuzest Protein Powder ~ A girl has to have coffee while she is traveling but I don't want to pay the expensive prices at the local coffee shop. So I use the hotel coffee maker. The only problem with the coffee at the hotel is the creamer that they supply contains milk and I have a dairy allergy.

So I pack my favorite plant-based protein and use that for my coffee creamer. Nuzest creamy vanilla protein powder is perfect in coffee and it also gives me plenty of protein. I just pack a shaker bottle and mix up a Nuzest protein shake. I then stir the creamy vanilla liquid into my coffee. Nuzest protein also comes in other delicious flavors like strawberry and chocolate. This protein comes in handy for a quick high-protein breakfast.

UVI Self-Heating Lunch Box ~ Traveling with multiple food allergies means that I may prepare a lot of my meals at the hotel. Often I will bring food in my suitcase and then go grocery shopping once I get to my destination. When I can book a hotel with a full kitchen or a microwave, I will do so. Since my husband and I wanted to stay at a resort that was on the beach, we were not able to secure a hotel with a kitchen or microwave.

So I will be packing my UVI Self-Heating Lunch Box in my suitcase. This unique lunch box heats up the food and cooks some food items in under 25 minutes. Once the food is hot, the container keeps it warm for 2 hours. This is a plus, as I can then bring my own food to restaurants and my husband can enjoy eating out. The UVI will also be great for making my oatmeal for breakfast.

Hawaii Beaches, Here I Come

I can't wait to travel to Hawaii. I am beyond excited to relax on the beach with my husband. We will also be doing some sightseeing to Pearl Harbor and the Dole Plantation as well as a coffee farm. We also want to do a submarine tour and do plenty of shopping. So check out all of my favorite travel products and add them to your travel list.

I think the packing cubes would be very helpful when packing for a trip. I don’t have any but then again I haven’t traveled in a long time.
