Using Resistance Bands For Building Muscle Without Weights

Are you looking to build muscle but don't want to spend tons of money on weights or a gym membership? Keep reading to discover how resistance bands can build and tone your muscles.

Most people think you must lift heavy weights to build strong muscles. These people also think that they have to spend tons of money on an expensive set of weights or join a gym. So they purchase a gym membership to then discover they have to compete with bodybuilding guys to use the barbells and dumbells.

So feeling defeated or intimidated by using the weights at the gym to do weightlifting, these folks then spend way too much money on weightlifting equipment. Which then leads to where are they going to store the weights? Several months later, the weightlifting equipment starts to collect dust from lack of use.

Save your money and learn how to build muscles with a resistance band set

We all get over-motivated at the beginning of the year to get into shape and we get persuaded by ads to join a gym or purchase expensive gym equipment. Sadly most people have wasted their money as that motivation tends to wear off in a couple of months when they stop going to the gym. For those who spent $$$ on home gym equipment, these are now fancy clothes racks.

If you are looking to get stronger and want to build some muscle, save your money and learn how a set of resistance bands can build muscle. Resistance bands offer a versatile, effective, and convenient method for strength training and muscle development. The best part about resistance bands for muscle building is the cost and the portability.

This set of resistance bands is under $30 and fits into a small bag. The resistance band set may be small, but it is a powerful piece of gym equipment. You will get strong, toned muscles from using them. Resistance bands have helped me build and shape muscles in my body.

How do resistance bands work?

The stretchy bands work by using resistance. Each band has a different thickness. A thinner band offers less resistance so one does not need to put much effort into pulling it while a thicker band requires more strength to pull it. The strength of the bands to your muscle effort is also increased by how far you stretch the bands.

This article goes into more detail about how resistance bands work

Examples of exercises you can perform with the resistance bands

Incorporating pull-up bands into your workouts can significantly enhance your strength training routine. Below are some ways to use the bands with exercises to target different muscle groups.

Upper Body Strength

Bicep Building: Loop a band under your foot and place both handles in one hand. Place your elbow by your hip and pull the band up halfway to your shoulder.

Back and Arm Muscles: Hook the bands over a door and grab the handles. Walk out a couple of feet and pull the bands in a rowing motion.

Core Strength

Single Arm Pull: Place a band over a door and grab both handles with both hands. Stand a couple feet out from the door and turn sideways. Keeping one arm in a semi-bent position, use the arm to pull the band in a half-circle motion, using both the arm and the waist.

Lower Body Strength

Squats: Place a band or more over a door. Stand on a band with feet shoulder-width apart. Hold the bands and perform squats. Build more resistance by pulling the bands out further.

These are just a few of the many exercises that you can perform with the resistance bands. The set of bands comes with instructions on how to perform many different exercises with the bands. I also find that playing around with the bands can help you figure out muscle exercises. You can also search online for videos on how to use resistance bands.

I love my resistance bands

I love using the Bear Grips Resistance Bands and they have helped build my muscles. I have used the bands to tone my back, my arms, and my core. I also love using the bands when performing my daily squats.

I leave my bands on a door, so it is easy to do my daily strength exercises. The door that I use is the door to the furnace so the door never gets opened. If you want to place the bands on a door that gets used, I suggest placing a nail on the door, so you can hook the door anchor on the nail.

The Benefits Of Using A Rowing Machine

Are you looking for an exercise routine that strengthens your muscles and also increases your cardio endurance? You need to try working out on a rowing machine. Keep reading to discover my rowing experience along with the benefits of rowing.

If you could only choose one exercise machine for the best exercise, you should consider the rower machine. This is a gym equipment that gives you an amazing cardio workout while also some amazing strength exercise. The rower is an all-in-one exercise machine that gives you a total body workout.

If your fitness goals are to both strengthen your muscles and increase your endurance, then you need to give rowing a chance. Rowing on a rower machine is the best HIIT exercise to give you amazing body results. From strong muscles to stronger lungs, check out the benefits of using a rowing machine.

Why is the rowing machine at the gym the least used piece of gym equipment at the gym?

If you belong to a gym, you will notice that the rower is seldom used by anyone while other gym equipment is always in use. There are always people on the treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals but the rower just sits there waiting for someone to use it. Why is the rowing machine at the gym the least used piece of gym equipment at the gym?

Check out my favorite home rowing machine

When I joined a gym several years ago, the first piece of gym equipment that I used was the elliptical. After several weeks of using the elliptical, I decided to use the treadmill, and then I alternated between the two machines. While my gym had a rower, far away from the other gym exercise machines, I was never interested in using the rower. My thoughts about the rowing machine were it was a piece of boring gym equipment that could not give me a good workout. I thought, how could sitting down while exercising give me a high-intensity workout?

I wanted to shape the muscles on my back

Then one day, my opinion about the rowing machine all changed. I was frustrated by the way my back looked and I wanted to change the shape of my back so it would look better while wearing backless dresses. So I searched online for the best exercises to build back muscles and I discovered that rowing could strengthen my back muscles while also giving me a great cardio workout.

Rowing is a total-body workout, meaning it will strengthen major muscle groups in your arms, legs, and core and increase cardiovascular endurance. In short, if you consistently use the rowing machine, you'll notice that you'll become stronger and less out of breath. You may even notice some muscle gain.

So I decided to try rowing at the gym to see if it made a difference in my muscles and my endurance. My workout plan was to row for 20 minutes, 5 days a week, for 3 months. Before I started my rowing routine, I watched some rowing machine how-to videos. I wanted to learn how to use the rowing machine the correct way for the maximum rowing benefits.

I was amazed at how rowing changed my body

The first time I used the rower, I could feel many muscles in my body getting a good workout. From my legs to my stomach to my arms and back, my muscles were getting some strength exercise. I was also experiencing some cardio from using the rowing machine.

What I liked about rowing on the rower was I could change the intensity of the workout from easy to hard with how fast I moved. I could also increase my muscle strength training by adjusting the intensity on the rower dial. After 3 months of using the rower, I noticed that the muscles on my back were more pronounced. I also noticed that I was losing inches in my stomach and I started to see definition in my leg muscles.

As for my endurance, my lungs were getting stronger. When I first started rowing, I needed to take breaks after a couple of minutes as my asthmatic lungs were not enjoying the cardio part. Then after a couple of weeks, I no longer needed to take breaks and I was able to increase my rowing speed. I also noticed that I was no longer experiencing exercise-induced asthma symptoms.

Rowing Machine Workout Benefits

1. It’s a low-impact exercise ~ There’s no running or jumping involved. Therefore, your joints don’t feel any pain or pressure when performing the workout.

2. It’s a complete body workout ~ Rowing uses both lower and upper body muscles, such as pecs, arms, abdominal muscles, obliques, quadriceps, glutes, and calves

3. Rowing is for everyone ~ Regardless of the fitness level, people can reap the health benefits of rowing machines. You can row fast or slow. Rowing machines have resistance levels that can be adjusted to make your workout harder. With a lower resistance level, you can focus on cardio, and with a higher resistance level, you can focus on strength. Selecting a middle resistance level allows you to have both cardio and strength.

4. Rowing is a great cardio workout ~ Rowing involves using your whole body and you control the speed. So if you want an intense cardio workout, just row faster. Even a slow row will still give your body plenty of cardio. Rowing is also great for burning calories.

5. Rowing builds muscle ~ Rowing activates nine muscle groups and utilizes 85 percent of the body's muscles. Increasing the resistance level on the rower will help you strengthen your muscles even more.

6. It can help to improve your overall posture ~ Working out on a rowing machine exercises all major muscle groups. It strengthens the core and back of the body, improving its posture.

7. Good for your lungs and heart ~ Rowing is a potent cardio exercise that strengthens the heart, blood vessels, and lungs.

8. You can easily use it in your home ~ Rowers don't take up much space in the home. Most rowers are foldable, so they can be stored in a closet or a corner. Rowers also don't require electricity so they can be used anywhere in the home. Rowers are also quiet, unlike treadmills or ellipticals, so they are perfect for those living in apartments. I use my rower early in the morning, while everyone is still sleeping, in my upstairs home gym next to the bedrooms, and no one wakes up.

Is rowing on a rowing machine hard to learn?

One of the main reasons people do not use the rowing machine is due to mild back soreness. While mild back strain can occur from rowing, this pain should go away after a few days as it’s no different from the pain and soreness you feel in muscles when you exercise for the first time on any exercise machine.

One can also experience pain from using the rower incorrectly. To get the maximum benefits from using a rower, you need to learn how to use a rowing machine. One needs to watch a video about how to use a rower machine correctly. Without instructions, it’s very easy to use it in bad form and that can cause pain. Beginner rowers should focus on the technique before they increase their speed and resistance.

Do I need to buy an expensive rower to get the best results?

There are many types of rowing machines and choosing the right rowing machine often boils down to the type of resistance it offers. This article explains the difference between two popular options: water resistance and magnetic resistance rowing machines. While there are cheaper rowers on the market, one needs to focus on the quality of a rower before the price.

I have used the expensive rower at the gym and a more cost-effective rower made for home use and they each have their pros and cons.

~ The expensive gym rower is made for ultra durability as it will be used by many people but it does not offer the best resistance for strength training. So I like the gym rower for my cardio workout.

~ The rower that I use at home has a better resistance system and has 16 levels of resistance. I like to use my home rower for both cardio and strength training. I have owned a Yosuda Rower for 6 months and it has held up to my intense workouts. The Yosuda Rower is an excellent choice in a rower for both beginner rowers and experienced rowers.

Check out my full review of the Yosuda Rower

An Affordable Rower

What I like best about the Yosuda Rowing Machine is the price. Right now this affordable magnetic rower is priced at around $300. That is cheaper than a gym membership. This rower does not take up much space so I have my rower in a corner of my home fitness room. While it can fold up, I decided to not fold it up. That way I can use it after I run outside, for my core and strength exercises. When the grandchildren visit and my home gym becomes the playroom, I can easily fold the rower up and move it into my bedroom.

This rower is also durable. I have put a lot of miles on my rower over the past 6 months with intense workouts and it is still in great shape.

Rowing is a fun workout

I still enjoy rowing and find it to be a fun way to exercise. I listen to music while rowing and I find that helps me have fun. A rower is very quiet while in use, so you can also watch your favorite TV show while rowing. You can also watch interactive rowing videos that feature fitness trainers.

So give rowing a chance and see how it can change your body. You will be surprised at how rowing can tone and shape your body.

Are Portable Resistance Bands Effective For Building Muscles? ~ LIT AXIS

Looking for an effective at-home fitness gym product that is affordable and portable? Check out this portable smart resistance band training system that can be used for cardio, strength training, Pilates, and recovery.

Daily exercise is so important for our health. Our bodies were made to move and need some type of exercise on a daily basis. Our bodies need movement to function properly. The good news is there are so many ways to include exercise into your day. The best thing to learn about exercise is there is no one best exercise to stay in shape.

Exercise is all about getting the heart rate up, strengthing your muscles, and moving the body. While most people think that you need a gym membership or expensive home gym equipment to exercise, that is simply not the case. A brisk walk can be a great way to exercise as well as running outside. The key is to get that body moving for at least 30 minutes a day.

I have no time for exercise

The worst excuse that you can make for not exercising is saying that you have no time to exercise. Exercise should be a priority in your life and you need to make time for it. Your health depends on it. You make time to eat since your body needs food to live. You make time to brush your teeth as you don't want to lose your teeth. You make time for work as you need money to pay the bills. So make time for exercise with the same thinking. Your body needs exercise to be healthy. If you don't make time for exercise now, later in life you will be forced to make time for sickness. Your health may be fine now without exercise but when you hit 40 - 50 years old, your body will turn on you. Your muscles will start sagging and you will have body aches. You will start dealing with diseases like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and more.

The LIT AXIS™ Portable Resistance Band At Home Gym is for people who have no time to exercise.

The LIT AXIS is a portable smart resistance band training system that can be used at home, while traveling, or even outside. The LIT AXIS is a multi-functional portable, resistance band training system that needs no dedicated fitness space. This at-home piece of gym equipment is small and portable. This fitness equipment gives you the freedom and flexibility to transform any space into your perfect gym

While the LIT AXIS system is small it is a powerful piece of equipment that can be used for cardio, strength training, stretching, and more. This fitness system can replace cable systems, free weights, suspension trainers, pilates reformers, and more. The LIT AXIS is perfect for all levels of fitness. From a beginner to a gym buff, it can be used in so many ways. You will love all the multiple workouts that you can do with these resistance bands.

My thoughts on the LIT AXIS Portable Resistance Band

Before I begin my review of this resistance band gym equipment, I will first introduce you to what is included in the box when you receive the LIT AXIS device.

• Pair of AXIS Smart Sensors

• Pair of Resistance Trainers (0-60LBS)

• Pair of Resistance Trainers  (30-100LBS)

• Pair of handles

• Pair of ankle cuffs

• Universal anchor for multiple attachment points

• Lightweight protective carrying case

The LIT AXIS comes with a card that explains how to set up the fitness equipment and it also offers 3 months free to access the over 350 classes. I like that I was able to view the classes on my phone and on my computer. The classes were helpful in showing me how to set up the resistance bands and how to use them.

The bands can be attached over a door, to a door hinge. or around a sturdy item like a tree or a couch leg. My sturdy item was my studio cycle. Once I attached my bands over the door and closed the door, the fun began. Since I already own a set of resistance bands that go over a door, I used the LIT AXIS for some of my favorite strength exercises before I explored the many online classes. I found the LIT AXIS resistance bands to be an effective way to supplement my weightlifting routine.

These resistance bands gave my muscles a good workout and allowed me to work out different muscle groups when compared to regular weights. The bands helped me to go deeper on my squat exercises and gave my arm muscles a good workout. I liked that I could pair the bands to my phone to see data on my exercises. I could see things like muscle imbalance and more.

LIT AXIS™ TECHNOLOGY

LIT AXIS™ smart resistance band technology uses built-in sensors that focus on each axis of movement, detect and correct muscle imbalances on the left and right sides of the body, offer data for tracking reps, resistance loads, and time under tension, and ultimately predict and prevent injury.

The benefits of using resistance bands

I like having a resistance band system in my exercise room and I always leave them on a door. That way I can use them after my daily workout on my studio cycle to get a couple of reps of strength exercises in. I also use the resistance bands 3 times a week as part of my strength training weightlifting routine. Resistance bands are just as effective as lifting weights and have helped me get stronger muscles. I realized the importance of doing strength exercises several years ago and it has helped my body tone up. You have to see how just six months of using weights made a huge difference in my before and after stomach photos.

Resistance bands are great for all levels of fitness. The LIT AXIS gym bands can give one 0 - 100 pounds of resistance and can be great for at-home exercise. Hook the bands on a door and use them while watching TV. Even if you use a gym, these bands are awesome for those busy days when you have no time to visit the gym. If you are traveling, the exercise bands are light and take up a very small space in your travel bag. The LIT AXIS system can be used for cardio, strength training, stretching, and more in your hotel room.

Resistance bands make exercise fun

The more I use resistance bands for strength training, the more I enjoy them. I am becoming a resistance band junkie. I have had the opportunity to try out 3 different brands of resistant band systems and with each review, I discover a new way to use resistance bands for strength exercises.

Each of my bands for resistance are attached at different heights in my exercise room. That makes it super simple to use as I don't have to reattach the bands for different muscle-building exercises. I like that I can make the weightlifting experience harder with the resistance bands by stretching out the bands.

Are Portable Resistance Bands Effective For Building Muscles?

To answer the question about if Portable Resistance Bands are Effective For Muscle Building. The answer is yes. When I use resistance bands, I can feel my muscles burning and I can see my muscles moving. When I am done using the stretchy bands, my muscles are sore.

The thing that I like most about using resistance bands for building stronger muscles is how portable they are. I always pack my bands in my carry-on luggage when I travel. A couple of months ago, I was able to use the bands of resistance while I was on a train trip. I had a sleeper car, so I was able to get some muscle exercise in during an 18-hour trip.

So stop making excuses about exercise and invest in your health with a LIT AXIS Portable Resistance Band System
