A Natural Effective Way To Clean Your Teeth

Most people who follow a healthy lifestyle take the time to eat healthy and exercise. It only makes sense to eat natural food and stay away from chemicals in our food to stay healthy. So it makes perfect sense to me to use a natural toothpaste with all natural ingredients instead of one that has chemicals. Now I know what you are thinking, my toothpaste shouldn't have chemicals in it. Well in does, think about that warning label that is on that tube of paste. One of the chemicals in most toothpaste that I avoid is SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This chemical can cause mouth sores in some people, my youngest being one of them.

Himalaya Botanique is a great natural toothpaste that is great for your body like fruits and veggies, in fact this toothpaste even contains fruits like pomegranate, papaya, and pineapple. The cool thing about this toothpaste is it works just as well as those chemical toothpaste. It has a great minty taste and the natural ingredients give me fresh breath and brighter teeth while removing the plaque. You won't find any warning label on this herbal formulated toothpaste either so you can relax if your child uses too much or swallows the paste. My dentist is even Ok with my boys using Fluoride Free toothpaste and they have no cavities. My boys and I like the taste of this toothpaste and it is even gluten free, my younger son pointed that out to me. I just love that this 8 year old reads labels! The younger boys like the Simply Mint flavor while I love the Simply Cinnamon paste. Himalaya Botanique toothpaste comes in seven varieties so I am sure you will find a favorite.

So now that you know what is not in this healthy toothpaste let me tell you about what is in the toothpaste.

  • Neem - Cleans teeth and gives this formulation its sparkle. Neem is history's original housekeeper and works to keep the mouth clean.
  • Pomegranate - An astringent fruit extract that helps support healthy-looking gums
  • Triphala - A traditional detox with three fruits that nature made for clean teeth and a radiant smile.
  • Xylitol- A tooth-friendly sweetener that has been clinically-studied to support good oral health.
  • Papaya and Pineapple - Papain and Bromelain, the enzymes from papaya and pineapple, help remove surface stains, so your smile shines brighter than ever! (in the whitening formulas.)

As you can see by my messy toothbrushing, this toothpaste also has that foaming power that some natural toothpastes do not.

I just love Himalaya's commitment to the global community. Here are some of the programs they give back to:

Commitment to Farmers

Partnership with Vitamin Angels

Trees for Life

Healthy Partners Rehabilitation Program

Autism Activism

You can read more about these programs at the below link. While you are there check out more about this healthy toothpaste and print a coupon to save money too. The store locator will help you find a store that sells this toothpaste. Here in Albuquerque, I was able to find Himalaya at Sprouts, Whole foods and Vitamin Cottage.

So is it time to switch to healthy toothpaste?

I've never heard of natural alternatives to toothbrushes. I've always used plastics. I'd love to try one of these wooden toothbrushes just to see the difference.
