How To Earn Reward Points And Travel For Free

This is not a sponsored post, all opinions are my own.

Do you like traveling? How would like to travel for free?

Now that the kids are getting older, I am able to do more traveling. I love traveling to conferences that are related to my website. I already have a couple trips planned for this year. The best part about my trips is that this year all of my airline expenses for all three of my trips will be completely free and about three nights of my hotel stays will be also free. So that is going to save about $1,200 this year! So saving money is a good thing. That means I can travel more. Do you like saving money? Then you need to keep reading to find out how I earned this free travel. Trust me it was super easy.

How to earn $600+ for airline flights

When I first started traveling about four years ago, I signed up for the Southwest Rapid Rewards airline reward program so I could earn points for free travel. Southwest is my favorite airline to travel with as they allow me to check two bags for free. They also tend to have great promotions for low airfare. One of the best promotions that I signed up for with Southwest Airlines was their credit card. It was a deal too good to pass up. The Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card came with 40,000 points! That was enough points for me to book three round trip flights this year. The dollar amount of the 40,000 points is equal to about $600. Then, of course, I am earning even more points every month just by using this awesome credit card for other purchases. Last month I spent $1000 on my credit card so I earned 1000 Rapid Reward points. So I usually spend 24,000+ a year on my credit card so that means I will earn an additional 24,000 Rapid Rewards points. So that is about another $400 for airline tickets for me. The best part is these points don't expire as long as my credit card is open. So if you travel with Southwest Airlines, you need to get this credit card for $600 in free flights. Sure the card comes with a $69 yearly fee but the card also comes with a Special anniversary gift of 3000 points which is equal to about $50.00. So If after you enjoy the free flights and decide that this is not the airline for you, you can cancel the card. I just wish that I had applied for the Southwest Rapid Rewards Plus Credit Card sooner.

How to earn three free nights at a hotel

When I started traveling to conferences, the first hotel that I stayed in was a Hilton hotel and I signed up for their Hilton Honors hotel reward program so I could get free internet. I am glad that I signed up for this reward program because, with my first stay of 6 nights, I earned enough points for a free night. I really enjoyed the Hilton hotels so from then I chose to stay at this chain of hotels when I traveled so I could earn more points. Last year I decided to sign up for their Hilton Honors American Express Card as they were offering a no-fee credit card with 100,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points. That amount of points was equal to three free nights at a Hilton hotel. When I use that credit card on other purchases I can earn even more points which adds up to more free nights at a hotel.

So that is how I am traveling for free this year. You too can earn points on hotel stays and airline flights and travel for free this year. Sign up for these two credit cards and get these amazing points deals. Then start thinking about your next vacation.

Will signing up for credit cards hurt my credit score

I use to think that signing up for credit cards would hurt my credit score but I was wrong. After I applied for these two credit cards my credit score only dropped a few points but then a couple months later my score went back up. More than one credit card can give you more available credit and that can bring your score up.
